Got my phone yesterday, brought it home around 2. Was at 74% when turned on. Drained it completely. Charged overnight. From 10:00 to now i'm at 95%. I also use an Apple watch which i used to view/reply/delete notifications. I don't use my phone at all ever unless I really need to.

Disable Apple Music under Music app settings under General settings! Saves battery big time, then use music 3rd party app to stream for free. My favorite station 181.FM The BUZZ using the free "Radio Tuner" app that streams shout-cast servers.

Also disable background refresh for all apps manually and do what they need to do when screen is on!

One more if not using Bluetooth at all, turn it off and wifi if on celluar connection. If you need Bluetooth turn it on only when needed then back off. If your using IOS 9 it has new crazy auto brightness control, so disable it and set your brightness manually using the swipe up Control Center.

Also disable if you have the option manually under restrictions what apps can touch or use cellular data and which ones cant until your on wifi...

Siri eats battery so if you never use it, turn it off, turn off handoff settings to other apple devices if you do not use it, go through everything and turn off what you know you do not need for sure.

Also IOS9 drains battery on any device more than IOS8.

Also if you didn't, I would back up what you got on yer new phone so far through iTunes or iCloud, DFU install newest or older IOS9 build, then set up as new device and manually redo everything. I know on a phone this could be time consuming but it might fix problems.

Also you can do the battery calibration process which helped my new mini 4 gain 1-2 hours more in IOS9 without resetting anything. I did set it up as new device and manually got everything going on it like my older iPads.

There is a website that walks you through on how to calibrate battery on any Apple device. Also once fully charged to 100 percent you leave it on longer like 30 minutes or so, hit power and home button same time and hold them down until phone reboots to screen with apple logo, once you see logo let go. This deletes temp files, cached files, logs and anything else that could be causing a problem. Kind of like on Android when you erase the /cache folder and dalvik cache. Nothing will be reset, erased or deleted you put on it or setted up, its a manual way of cleaning things also to include the battery memory saved in a file I presume.

Once I did this, it went from 10 hours and 37 mins on my mini 4 in IOS 9 build 340 up to an extra hour of 11 hours and 37 minutes usage and now one more extra hour up to 12 hours and 20-30 minutes of usage with gaming and a lot of safari browsing. (been through 4 complete charges now) Mind you this is a wifi only new Mini iPad 4!

This doesn't feel right?

Here is my first full day on my new 6s+. Low power mode not used. Auto brightness enabled. Okay I guess, but I am spoiled by my mini 2.

First day at work with my new phone..this is nuts. Even used music off my phone in the car and my battery still not dropped from 100% with my S6 edge it would of dropped to 88% by now

Here is my usage from today. Does this seem pretty average or do you think I am not getting what I should out of my battery?

Depends if it's a plus.. It's pretty average for the 6s, way too low for the plus.

Guys, please remember to indicate whether you're posting about the 6s or the 6s Plus when talking about your battery issues or posting screenshots..

My battery life on my 6s plus is great. No worries just smiles.
It'll last for roughly 9 hours of usage. I'm happy I got this device. Rose gold 128 gigs

6S not as good as 6. Disable Apple Music as mentioned and turn off ' Hey Siri ' feature in settings. Seems as though the Hey Siri feature uses a lot of battery.

Mine is incredible, but I have come from a Galaxy S6 to be fair. With my normal commute usage my Galaxy would be on about 87% by now, iPhone 6s is still on 100%. Very impressed!

Some battery saving tips for your new iPhones:

1) Turn off Siri Suggestions (under Spotlight Search).
2) Go to Privacy —> System Services and Untick eveything (except Find My iPhone and maybe Time Zone). I find "Frequent Locations" to have a big impact on battery life.
3) Switch all apps to "While Using Only" for Location Services (also under Privacy).
4) Turn off Background App Refresh.
5) Switch all email accounts to Fetch Only.
6) Turn off Automatic App Downloads.
7) Turn off Suggested Apps (under General, Handoff & Suggested Apps).
8) Reduce notifications on the lock screen.
9) Switch the auto-lock after 30 seconds.
10) Reduce brightness.

Getting some supreme battery life on my 6s plus after a couple cycles, definitely on par with 6 plus which was good already

Very heavy use today and low power mode turned in at 20%. Siri is always on but most background locations services off. And connected to my Apple Watch.

100% is usually equivalent to about 5-7%. In other words, if you got to work with 99% instead of 100%, you'd probably be around 92-94%.

Impressed. Not.

My 6s' first real day use. Its only defense for this poor timing is the more than average use of camera for the day (Total time on camera mode was 24mins as stated in the breakdown). "Hey Siri" feature left on and Low Power Mode not activated to see how far it could stretch.

Calibrate your battery meter correctly.. Let phone go all the way to shutoff.. Then full charge to 2 hours beyond it showing 100%.. Then run a typical usage day again - those numbers will improve. Promise. The partial charge they put on at the factory isn't a true test of battery life.

even when it dropped to 99% it didn't drain fast after that either.

currently on

6 hours, 36 minutes
12 hours standby

with still 59%

luckily it helps we have wifi at work.

Thanks for your recommendation. I received the phone on launch day and have already calibrated the battery as you described.
