what should I get: 6 plus or regular with the new battery case?
@skiltrip thank you for your feedback. With the apple battery case you get more mAh then the plus, not sure if its better though with the phone always charging.
How about the overall look of the phone along with the battery hump ? I don't know how it would be to hold the phone by adding the case. Anyways guess the battery case is only meant for power users who aren't able to sail through the day with the existing phone's powers. Not sure what you mean by better/worse. Apple designed this case specifically to work with it's phone.
I know what you're saying about essentially leaving it "plugged on" for 10 hours at a time, but I think that's a concern that's no longer valid with today's battery tech. I've left iPhones plugged in overnight for 8-10 hours plenty of times with no concern.
Various people who are using it like it and say that it looks fine and feels fine (if not even better in some ways). How about the overall look of the phone along with the battery hump ? For me the 6s plus works out perfectly fine (maybe due to my big hands) and after upgrading to 9.2 my battery is lasting me easily for 2-3 days.. The stand by and usage times both look better.. Don't know if it's just a coincidence or Apple has really done something to the battery as it wasn't mentioned explicitly in the upgrade notes
Well I have read and heard mixed reviews so can't say.. Firstly lets accept that this is a shoddy way to fix the batter issues in a phone.. What's the point of trying to create the thinnest phone on the plannet at the cost of battery and later adding a hump to it to solve it.. What about the thin design etc which is not even visible now with the hump..Various people who are using it like it and say that it looks fine and feels fine (if not even better in some ways).
Adding an option for more/additional battery life does not in itself imply there is a problem that is being solved, simply an option for additional battery reserve should someone want that for some reason.Well I have read and heard mixed reviews so can't say.. Hope you are getting what am trying to say.. Hope apple learns it's lessons doesn't run behind thinness in future.. Nobody is asking for it at the cost of battery life
Haha.. And what's the point if nobody rants about it.. Good for people who need that extra life with a 6s or even the 6s plus for that matter..Sense it's really bugging people that the Apple battery case is working for those that are using it. After making fun of it, and previously complaining about thinness vs battery life. Now it's like, half hearted complaints, confusion on which direction to complain about. Oh dear, maybe the case with the battery even feels good to hold. And the sound is better with speaker vibrations directed forward. Darn it, another positive. What's wrong with apple? The nerve of them providing a choice that works.
Apple has provided a solution for people that want smaller width and height phone, but need the battery life of the 6s Plus. With the present battery technology you can't have both thin and super long life. But people can choose one over the other. And if those choosing to use the battery case, like it, who cares that those that don't want to use it, don't like it. Aren't both getting what they want, using their phone the way they want. But it's not the elegant solution for everyone, so it must be wrong in some way. Yeah, right.
Think if you check the case is only for the 6 and 6s. No battery case for the Plus from Apple.Haha.. And what's the point if nobody rants about it.. Good for people who need that extra life with a 6s or even the 6s plus for that matter..
It can come handy even during a long trip etc.. But yeah this is nothing new.. There are cheaper and in some cases better alternatives available in the market..
Background app refresh can contribute to background activity but the ability of apps to run in the background in general is not controlled by it and is built into the OS.Moving away from the battery case talk, has anyone seen a ton of "background activity" by Youtube?
I have "background app refresh" turned off for YouTube and yet at one point yesterday I saw that YouTube had 58 mins of screen on time and 5.2 hours in the background!
<i'm using 6s+ on iOS 9.1>

Manually closing the app if/when you are done with it would do the job for sure. That aside, realistically it shouldn't be running in the background for more than a few minutes anyway, unless you are perhaps listening to something in the background through the app.so is there a way for me to stop/prevent YouTube from running in the background?

89 hours? That's insane
I was very surprised myself, could of maybe got more put I plugged it in at 10%Battery life back to normal now
89 hours? That's insane
Got 44 the other day and thought that was insane
Hi folks.
I have a question for everyone who did more than 9 hours of battery life. Which settings do you disabled or changed to achieve this duration?
