Serious question, who does hardcore gaming on a laptop?

Wouldn’t it be better to build your own rig at a fraction of a cost?

Some people have no place to put a desktop, or can only have one computer. Others may prefer to be able to move the computer around and bring their games with them wherever.

this has even more sense than the Apple's touchbar, as is intended just for hardcore gamers, who want to control other apps as music or video W/O leaving the game.

this is genius.

At least they are not modding a Laptop intended for Pro users (Macbook Pro...) and adding a stupid social media era touchbar to control movies (WTF?) or to add emojis... Fn keys, once were Pro keys in the past, but as now nobody is a Pro anymore, get rid of them.

The big problem with touch bar is that is pricey, but this is obviously a gadget for MB Air or MB, not for the Pro line, they just mixed the target consumer and the device.
Apple's touchbar is just for casual users in a Pro line, just because they can't ask for 400USD more in the smaller laptop line for a new little screen .

This is one of those things Steve Jobs would get rid of, too many caos, too many options to look at, too many new things to learn, things before were already a mouse clic far, now requires you to relocate your hand, your head and your eyes.

Bad business for Pro "short cut" people, good news for media/web surfing/email consumers

Wasn’t the Touch Bar for editors?

Second-screen support in games has been notoriously minimal. I’m not taking about multiple displays for the game. I’m talking second-screen features. So this laptop integrates this for how many games to use? When this fad dies off, what use is that small LCD?

I don’t like Apple’s touch strip either. Physical controls, with reliable functions, are a necessity.

Because one thing hard-core gamers (the target customers for these machines) have yearned for is the ability to play Spotify and stream YouTube videos while fully concentrating on mowing down their opponents?

Yes, tons and tons of them do that. They have a second monitor for various utilities like streaming and discord. And so this laptop is essentially the portable version of that setup.

Besides, plenty of games support dual monitor inherently, for example in BF4 I ran the game on the main screen and filled my smaller second screen with a battle map. My ex ran WoW with two screens, keeping toolbars on the second screen.

With hundreds or even thousands of laptop models out there, yes, I think there is room for at least one to have two screens.

well, I don't now about that, my experience with TB and After Effects is TB is useless, same for Animate CC and Harmony, moreover, I use a desktop setup with external keyboard and external screens, so macbook is in a box in order to have the screen to my eyes high.

When in the move, I just ignore TB as I don't use it in my day to day workflow and learning how to use is odd, moreover, I dont want to look at my keyboard when I already have my fingers were I need (shortcuts and trackpad)

Maybe Apple is charging all of us for using it with FC X? who knows, never use it since the Classic version
