Seems like a good device.

3GB of RAM/32GB storage in US for $399.

I love the 5" Amoled screen...this device has a market. It looks and I suppose feels like a high-end device in a small package. Now a days most Android phones are phablets. The small battery is a concerned, but then again, its using 617 processor, 6.0 Mar, and 1080P screen...so maybe its not power hungry.

I'll bite...and order one in red, since I love that color. If I don't like it, I'll return it.
I'm loving all the phablets :D but yeah, they are not for everyone.

Let us know how it goes. :)

Well do! I'll have an Edge+, N6P and One A9 at the same time. I'll need to show some love to the smaller 5" device, since the other two are 5.7"

LOL.. I have an accountant that tells me that !!!! :p

I am meant to be saving for an intensive yoga teaching course - so maybe it is Karma !!! :D
Haha! Listen to your accountant! Even though you never do when it comes to purchasing new devices. FYI: If you need to use a new device for a month, Samsung Test Drive is back (Edge+, Note 5 and Edge). Not sure if you have any of those right now. I'll be using the Edge+ until my N6P comes next month.

I don't wanna discuss who copied who because that's already gotten old on here...

What I wanna know is why didn't htc go for a new design on this particular product? something fresh?

The first thing most people will think of is iPhone clone, because that's the most popular phone, they may not even know about the older htc ones. I didn't until some people shared on here.

This look ain't great is it tbh, when I get my 6S I'll be glad it's in a case so I don't have to look at the antenna bands.

Are you sure that is the price for the 32GB version?

I tried to click through the pre-order button, but it won't let me.

I think that may be the price for the 16GB version, what they refer to as "Configuration 1".

Yesterday it was Samsung's Rose Gold Galaxy and today this, but iOS adds battery saving mode and everyone be like "OMG APPLE STEALS ANDROID IDEAS" lol.

Yep pretty much lol

Something sized right between the 6S and 6S Plus, in an extremely similar Silver color, and using the A9 name (like the chip). The only way to beat this kind of trolling would be if HTC's CPUs were also split built between TSMC and Samsung!

Spoiler: They are waiting for the A10 Chip to launch the HTC A10 which will be split between TSMC and Samesung lol

This really confuses the smartphone market :(

How will Samsung know which one to copy?

Simple Samesung will copy both in a desperate attempt to get rid of HTC as competition and take some Apple profits

You'll be able to go back and forth on who imitated who, but only until you get here:

Can you imagine having to work on this project? You've got to feel like a con artist. I don't know anyone with any self respect who could just rejigger another company's engineering drawings and be fine with it. Do they find these people on C4D forums?

Apple's lawyers incoming in 3, 2, 1....

I have this gut feeling that HTC just doesn't care any longer. If the phone sales they still have one more life pending lawsuit. If it doesn't it's game over. Or maybe Apple won't care because it's taking business away from Samsung. There are so many angles to this.

The HTC One A9 is an evolution of HTC's previous designs and it's now reached the point where it seems very similar to the iPhone 6 design. It may have been coincidental, but I'm also guessing HTC may have designed the One A9 with the iPhone 6 in mind.

Anyways, does anyone not see the similarity on the front to the Samsung Galaxy and Note series phones?

I'm not digging HTC's design on this one. I think HTC's original HTC One was the best designed phone at the time and to this day it still is one of the best looking phones that exist. It was premium, sleek and high quality. It's a shame they went from that to this. It no longer feels premium anymore and just seems like a confused phone that looks like a cross between the iPhone 6 on the rear and a Samsung Galaxy on the front. A shame since I really like HTC as a company and wanted them to release a killer phone.

The phone will arrive globally in November, with separate announcements expected from carriers and retailers soon. In the U.S., it'll sell for $399.99 unlocked from HTC.com with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. And at this price point, the A9 could compete strongly against rival mid-to-high-end phones from the likes of Motorola and Huawei. Pre-orders begin at 12:30pm EDT today at HTC.com.

Screenshot of what I see what right...clearly states 3/32.

I selected the Garnet red unlocked version and it lists 3GB RAM, 32GB storage for $399. Maybe only the unlocked versions are the second configuration?

Again, the 5 and the M7 look NOTHING alike, if you honestly believe they do, get your eyes checked.

As good design is supposed to follow function eventually all products look very similar. You see it in cars, when they follow just the wind tunnel resistance and other products.

Mr. Ive is a big fan of Rams design (Braun), so the iphone 4 looked a lot like a BRAUN design.
They later decided that the edges where digging into the hands too much (baloney in my book)
and softened them.

The 4 design is the nicest looking design, as I also appreciate Rams and BRAUN design style.

Eventually there isn't much more one can do when all the functions are taken care of.

Curves, lights on the edges, all gimmicks when a product has matured.

What is funny to me is that the design doesn't really matter because many klutzes (like me) put ugly protective cases on our iPhones.

Nobody knows what's inside these ugly cases. Might as well be an HTC or SAMSUNG clone etc.

PS: Waiting for ample supply of 6S plus in space gray 128GB and hope Apple goes to 256 GB a little faster than 128 GB. One can hope.
