You mean by saying "I know what you mean"? Seems to me I've done just the opposite...acknowledged the point despite the poor word choice. The point is you’re playing childish semantic games.

I just gave you three examples of you defending this phone, and you failed to rebut all three. “I know you are but what am I” is not as effective a counter argument as you apparently think. You were doing better with “nanny nanny boo boo”.Agreed. You're going full throttle with that excavator!
Could you even imagine what would happen if Apple released something like this with a wonky visible crease in the display? ‘Crease-gate’ would be front page in the NYTimes and “breaking news” on CNN and Apple would be the butt of all Android user’s jokes. Any other company does it and it’s just “innovative 1st gen technology”.
iPad is for a different purpose and if I wanted an iPad, I’d use that. Many consider iOS a compromise. Do you use an iPad with a single hand? Was the original iPhone, at 12mm, a compromise? Does carrying an iPhone and an iPad weigh less (btw, based on your review of the unit how much does this weigh?) than this single device?
There are better ways to identify device sides than cutting off a part of a screen.I love the notch. If not for the notch I’d constantly be picking up my phone upside down. I wish the Apple TV remote had a notch.
You have yet to demonstrate the "crease" has any negative affect on the device. Just because you saw it for a split second as the display was opened does not mean it negatively affects the display or functionality of the device. You don’t see the difference between an ugly asymmetric wrinkle down the middle of the entire screen and a notch that doesn’t get in the way of content at all? Why are you so eager to defend this thing as if it’s the perfect implementation of foldable screen technology? That day will come, but this surely isn’t it.
Yes. Millions. Samsung and Huawei don’t R&D something like this to sell a six-figure number of units. This should be common sense. But I see you’ve worked yourself into a frenzy here, so maybe my expectations for a rational conclusion are too high.I wasn’t the one who called it a preference. Haha the second part of your comment sounds like something Trump would say, completely out of touch with reality. Yes, right, millions of people will be buying this device.
This just confirms Apple will release their take when the tech is more ready.
This makes Samsung’s look like a joke, if it didn’t already.
I love the $2,600 price point because now people can stop crying about $1,000 phones...wait, what am I saying? Of course people will still complain!
Correct, that’s how it’s marketed. It’s first and foremost a speaker.Sound quality the most important feature on a smart speaker? hmm could of had me fooled. Nevertheless my point was he was he thought it was fine to say the Galaxy Fold is trash (without even having seen or used one), yet when i said i thought the homepod was trash (i have used one and didn't like the sound signature and Siri was terrible) he got all defensive about it.
So you'd rather carry around an phone and a tablet instead of just carrying around one device? I assume you carry around a phone and a dSLR camera?iPad is for a different purpose and if I wanted an iPad, I’d use that.
We had nothing to compare the original iPhone (except plastic crap) and this foldable is largely a step backward from what we are used to in many areas.
The notch is a deliberate design decision. Also a branding decision because it distinguishes the phone as an iPhone. You can hate if you want. A screen distortion because the technology isn’t fully there yet isn’t the same thing.
We know, you've been passing it off as universal.I wasn’t the one who called it a preference. Haha the second part of your comment sounds like something Trump would say, completely out of touch with reality. Yes, right, millions of people will be buying this device.
If my option was this thing, absolutely. So you'd rather carry around an phone and a tablet instead of just carrying around one device? I assume you carry around a phone and a dSLR camera?
I have yet to see any evidence the "crease down the middle of the entire screen" gets in the way of content. That's just an assumption on your, and some others, part.

Its marketed as a smart speaker, and is not particularly good at being a smart assistant nor at being a speaker. The Google Home Max is a bad speaker as well but at least it excels at being an assistant. Google Assistant is heads and shoulders ahead. Don't get me started on Siri, the speech recognition is terrible, i ask what time it is and she tells me something completely unrelated. With google assistant it understands what i say 90 percent of the time and gives the correct answer more times then not.Correct, that’s how it’s marketed. It’s first and foremost a speaker.
And don’t even start on Siri. She is sooooo much better than people here want or like to admit.
Bet I’d have better battery life too and definitely a better experience.
Yep, it's your contention. I can see this being useful, especially for people who are constantly on the go. For example: Imagine being able to take one device with you on an airplane and being forced to watch a movie on a small, relatively speaking, phone sized screen. When done fold it up and put it in your pocket. If my option was this thing, absolutely.
Again, a tablet is more for home use, office use, and is less mobile for “chill time.”
My contention is you don’t need a tablet in your pocket because a phone does everything this tablet does. The iPhone XS Max has a 6.5” screen already.
If I’m just comparing the tablet portion, I’d rather use my thin 10.5” iPad than this cumbersome phone in tablet mode.
Bet I’d have better battery life too and definitely a better experience.
I don’t agree, but even if we agreed Google Assistsnt is head and shoulders better (it isn’t), you still have to put the Google spyware in your house. No thanks. Its marketed as a smart speaker, and is not particularly good at being a smart assistant nor at being a speaker. The Google Home Max is a bad speaker as well but at least it excels at being an assistant. Google Assistant is heads and shoulders ahead. At this point, where my iPhones are always shattered and scratched (with exception to the iPhone 4) I'm ready to try a softer display. Maybe it won't shatter as easily as iPhones. So how prone to scratches are these screens? To make them flexible they must be pretty soft...
Good grief. This is hilarious. The notch exists because we can’t yet get a camera under these screens. Branding? That’s nice post facto rationalization.
As soon as the stupid notch can go away, it will.
