Because their case is ready? When a serial killer or carjacker or jaywalker go to court do you ask why now?

Propaganda technique number 3:
- when you have no response to the substance of the news, try and cast suspicion on the process instead. Why now? What are the motivations of the reporters/police/prosecutors? How did they find out about it in the first place - seems fishy!

China wouldn’t exist in the shape its in today without its corporate espionage.

Yup. And they do this in many fields. In the biopharmaceutical they send people to work in Big Pharma to only come back to China to facilitate making similar products themselves. They bring back with them all the R&D knowledge and all the experience to produce in China. It's a very direct and intentional goal of China.

People go Huawei because it offers so much more value for money and went from a follower to a leader. This film just clarifies it very well.

https://www.cnbc.com/video/2019/02/07/why-is-apple-so-expensive.html

Huawei is so cheap because they don't pay a dime into R&D, they just have to steal it.
They also have unlimited financial and political support from the chinese government, something that's unimaginable anywhere around the world. So no, Huawei is not a leader in any field because it's not competing on the same playing field with other tech companies; it's playing a completely different game.

Ever heard of Edward Bernays? I bet most here haven't. Public opinion is so easily manipulated. The cognitive bias of the average joes makes critical thinking weak and even absent.

But I get it. 5G is the future. There is no way the USA would want a non-US or non-US allied enterprise control that space and, consequently see itself lose control of communications surveillance and of geopolitical leverage on the world.

This is just but one small move in the chess match.

Why do I keep reading about Huawei leading in 5G tech if they spend no R&D? The media is either full of bs or they are stealing from aliens? Maybe both?

I'm not sure you're replying to the right person. I said there's nothing fishy at all about it. It's going to court because the case is ready.

I must say that every company looking to hire someone is looking for someone who has good experience from working for a competitor or has info that could beneficial to them. Even Apple does the same. If you worked for Google or Microsoft and have a lot of info you could get the job easier.

More evidence to never buy a trash product from that trash company.

I think some of their products are quite well made and some maybe not. Not sure about site being trash though. All manufacturers are competing against each other for market share. Huawei has had dual SIM card use available for their smartphones for a long time. Apple just now started offering it and it still offers only partial service on it too. With Huawei you can have two accounts on one phone and have two apps on one for meaning one per line allowing you to have two apps for a dual sim smartphone with 2 lines. The iPhone allows only one app and the other line can be used for only calls. The iPhone allows only one user where the Huawei smartphone allows two users like Apple’s computers do. Some things Apple is ahead and others Huawei is ahead. Each smartphone has its advantages and disadvantages.

The big 'let me down' was the supplier believed it..... Time for Apple to start manufacturing in the U.S, the sooner, the better.

Since we all hint on China as the 'top dog' anyway, it's time for suppliers to tighten their grip, or not trust them.

What you don't hear here is how many come to Apple which are willing to hand over local info on certain things. Apple though would not reveal such things as it would jeopardize the safety of the employee where the local employee would be viewed as a traitor to the locals. These things are quite the norm in China. I got a message from a supplier tonight asking me if I would buy from her if she started her own company and had her own products. Every year right after Chinese New Years is when most people change jobs. They wait till the end of the year to collect their red envelopes and bonuses before they split and when they split they try to take as much as they can with them. There they compete for jobs as to which the employer tries to find the most valuable employee for them. The employee who has the most info and talent gets the job.
This works for and against each manufacturer in the business. Right after Chinese New Years the company bosses are back early at work to see who returns from Chinese New Years Holiday and whom does not. Worried about whom will come back and whom will vanish they await at the company or factory.

US corporations, including the largest, do this as standard practice with full support and assistance from US Gov agencies. The US has the largest corporate espionage operation in the world today, so calling out China, in particular Huawei in this case, is hypocritical as the most basic level.

Interestingly, this latest anti-Huawei media accusation comes just days after the UK mentioned its planning on using Huawei 5G equipment. Yes. Right on cue.

The culture there just seems different. Companies seem fine stealing and improving upon each others’ design ideas.

They're such an absolutely disgusting company that should never be allowed to sell products in this country. Xiaomi and all the other Chinese OEMs are right behind them too. I understand wanting to save some money on a device, but I'll never understand buying one of those products to give up essentially all your privacy and supporting horrible practices.
You've answered your own question.

Dropped the iPhone last year, my last one was a 8 Plus. If you pay more than $1000/1000€ for a smartphone, then there's something wrong. Bought my Mate20Pro (here in Europe) and I'm very happy. Yes it's cheaper than an iPhone Xs Max (almost half the price), but quality is very good. Had a small problem and Huawei Support is excellent!! They sent me a new phone over UPS, and returned the defect one!!

Anyway, just saw announced by Kuo that the next iphones will have reverse wireless charging:
1. My mate20Pro already has that
2. how can you charge another phone with such limited batteries in iphones?

Not defending Huawei but we believe in third party reports now? What about reports about Apple's own servers hacked? Even if China would find a cure for cancer, US government would say it would steal your blood cells when used.

It probably would.

The USA has corporate espionage happening everyday - so give Huawei a pass on its espionage even if it gets caught red-handed, just to not appear hypocritical!

Yes, that is how crime and punishment works. This is not a death penalty argument.

It will be to charge AirPods and Apple Watch and not to charge another phone.

Stealing trade secrets? This sounds like something from 1800s . In 2019, anything you can do, the other company can do too.

I wouldn't mention privacy when the internet functions on American companies like FaceBook, Google, and Amazon.

That’s why all those android phones have cpus that are as fast as A12 and faceid clones that don’t get fooled by masks and are acceptable to banks for payment security. Because there’s no such thing as trade secrets.

Too bad for Apple and the rest of every tech company that sent manufacturing over to China., they all created the dragon, they all poked the dragon, and now the dragon has turned on them. Personally I am rooting for the dragon.

While I agree with you that stealing IP is wrong and shouldn't be allowed by governments. But it's common knowledge that you know this happens in China. No foreign company can start a business on it's own in China. You have to start a joint venture I believe where the Chinese company has 51% of the stake. I believe they're slowly changing that rule and Tesla is one of the few companies capable of owning the whole factory and producing on it's own in China.

China gets the knowledge and will leapfrog their partners, it's only a matter of time. Still many foreign companies chose to do so (mostly car manufacturers).

To come back on Huawei, they copied all things Apple and I can't deny that. But along the copying thing they also pour more money in R&D than Apple does. You can't play by the morale of your country and expect another country to do the same when they work totally different and have different practices. While I don't agree with those practices, you already knew before hand what those practices are. It's the choice and risk the company makes when dealing with China.

If those practices are happening in your country, you're protected by law. But as long as it happens in China you have to play the game by their rules, like it or not.
