What do you think Leica's market share in the digital camera market is? Do you think that a digital monochrome rangefinder attracts more or fewer buyers?

It doesn't matter. What matters is that when you want uncompromised quality, you can turn to Leica and be assured to have no troubles but just results.

Apple used to be the computer when quality and results was all that mattered. Apple died in 2009. All that's left are irreverent children playing with their late grandfather's toys.

Oh, and Leica have been going for over one-and-a-half centuries. I guess it has something to do with not following the "market research".
What model Leica cell phone do you own? Did you miss the part about the photo being a fake and the OP being suspended? Those are the facts if you’re interested in that sort of thing.

Btw, Leica does make over priced defective products on occasion.

Ah, yikes. My bad. I guess a fake post completely invalidates any and all tangents.

Should I delete my account too?

Google premature Leica CCD failure and then get back to us.

And a product line that runs from $1400 to $20,000 and produces minuscule numbers of products is hardly comparable.

I don’t see it. … why not take a photo of it right on
I don't see it either (but could be the odd angle of photo). Wouldn't be an issue for me anyway, since I only use cell phone as an emergency power/network outage phone and as a wifi hotspot during ISP cable outages. I only ever buy the least expensive iPhone for that reason, and keep it powered off 99.99%+ of the time, to drive telemarketing folks insane.

Yes so clearly fake and kinda disappointing how many MR users took the bait. But also kinda funny, OP successfully trolled.
I’ll admit. I believed it. It crossed my mind that it could be fake, but how can you tell? I also couldn’t think of why anyone would go to all that trouble. Maybe I’m more naive than I thought.

Bought a new silver 14 Pro today to replace my 13 Pro.

Got it home, opened it up, looked it over, everything looked good, and then I saw it and couldn't possibly believe it and now it can't be unseen...the entire freaking camera bump square is crooked counterclockwise by 1-2 degrees. I looked at it in all lights, gave all consideration and analysis to the possibilities of shadows or even somehow the entire back glass panel being crooked in the stainless frame (which it is not, it fits perfectly within the stainless steel frame all around), and nope - the entire camera bump square is actually molded into the entire back glass panel slightly crooked. I don't even understand how this is possible given the tight tolerances of the cameras that still manage to protrude through the holes which are now slightly not where they should be, but here we are.

Look closely - above the camera bump, the distance between the bump and the top edge of the back glass is noticeably larger towards the left side compared to the right side. And correspondingly, if you look to the left of the camera bump, the distance between the bump and the leftmost edge of the back glass is noticeably larger towards the bottom compared to the top. The camera bump is literally crooked, like it's been rotated counterclockwise 1-2 degrees.

Confirmed 13 Pro is absolutely not like this, this crookedness is now all I see on an otherwise flawless 14 Pro.

Anyone else? Look closely. I assure you, it is absolutely not the light or shadows playing tricks - if it were, I could reverse the optical illusion by turning the phone differently in the light. No matter how you look at it, in all conditions, it's crooked in the same way:

Have you taken any actual measurements? Or is this all based upon observations with the naked eye? I ask because it is well known that your eyes can deceive you. Shadows, lighting, color, sight lines all can combine to make things seem off. Take for example those pictures people post online that appear to be one color to some people but another to others.

How could I tell? This is literally impossible to make it past QC.

Apple can’t produce just one phone that looks like this without producing tens of thousands with the same defect. And this wouldn’t be where we first hear of it; in a forum post from a suspect user.

I don't know about that. I received a product, I can't remember at all what it was, but it skipped an entire step in machining. Imagine a MacBook where the edges weren't chamfered or the speaker grill wasn't holed, cuz it was on that level. Things can certainly happen. Whether the OP is a turd or a genuine reporter is debatable but the fact remains it isn't exactly impossible.

It more so just seems like the curve of the camera platter doesn't follow the curve of the phone, or something else is off here. If it were actually crooked, the left side would also be crooked, yet it doesn't appear to be. Frankly, the whole photo seems off. The platter seems to taper to the right, yet it appears closer to the top of the phone?
Bro, it’s crooked

So how much time and energy has this new phone cost you already? Do you like inspecting phones, returning them, obsessing over them? And from a 13 to a 14? What gives?

Isn't there a better way to spend one's life?

Just look closely and notice the light edges around portions of the bump. Not to mention, there’s no way this is going to happen the way these are manufactured. The order final poster was a newbie whose account was shut down shortly after posting. Go back and read the thread, others pointed out the forgery as well.
