Been over 2 weeks since the iphone X was released and the novelty of it has well and truly worn off. You just need to scroll through all the headings in the main forum to see that this device isn't exactly worthy of a 10 year anniversary iphone.

Some are bored with it.

Scratches easily around the steel band.

Face ID not proving to be the game changer that Apple made it out to be.

People who bought the X who said they wouldn't be bothered by the notch, are bothered by the notch.

Some people are surprised to find that the usable space is not as big as the Plus screen (seriously don't you guys read threads on here, there was only like 15 of them dedicated to this before the X was released?).

Problems with screen colour.

People missing touch ID and its reliability, speed and ease of use.

Complaints about the price.

Eye strain complaints.

Oled burn.

Issues with tap to wake.

And so many many more issues.

Some of you are happy with the X and that's great. But there are many who are not and that's a shame.

This was supposed to be Apple's biggest ever iphone release, and there's been more letdowns, regrets, disappointments, frustrations and feelings of underwhelment than all of Italy combined when they were ousted from the world cup the other day.

Sure there's been no real #gate issues, but the collective of the above is far worse than any gate issue that has gone before.

As I said in another post, the X was supposed to be the biggy. This phone was years in the making. It was supposed to be a monster device. And this is what Tim Cook delivered, a device with problems and issues a mile long.

And if you think the X will not be boring next year, think again. This is Apple, it will bring in changes at snail's pace. Next year there will be the A12 man of steel chip, because this year's chip was a slouch, a Plus model size (expect this to be next year's killer feature), a slightly better camera and another 6 anamojis you can get your face around. And fark all else.

So if you're hoping next year, or the year after, or the year after that, and so on, will finally bring you an interesting iphone that won't leave you feeling bored after 2 weeks, then you will be disappointed once more.

In 4 years time when Italy makes amends and qualifies for the 2022 world cup, a whole generation of iphone users will still be disappointed with the latest and greatest iphone.

Some issues are temporary, but others (Tim Cook) never go away.

A handful of complaints on a forum of over obsessed iPhone enthusiasts, weighed against the millions of satisfied costumers that we never hear from... the same as every other iPhone launch.

But some people will always interpret any data to prove themselves right.

Please note that I say this as someone who chose the 8+ over the X, so it’s not like I’m some defensive fanboy. On the contrary, I look at things objectively.

Got the iPhone X today, and I am very disappointed. That black thing on the top is ridiculous and the phone is small. Returning first thing next week.

So, in other words, you're a member of MacRumors but somehow didn't have enough information to know in advance about the notch or the dimensions?

It's just an endless chase to have the best of whatever only to be bored with it weeks later.

My personal qualm isn't really with the X hardware. It's how less intuitive iOS has become. It took four years to revamp Control Center and it still doesn't offer a location toggle. Add the fact that iPhones still don't have PiP or a system-wide split-view.

It's so easy to add both via software. My only hardware qualm is based on the glass back. I don't like the feel of it after touching it. It's like peeling an orange and feeling sticky. I like the X but after the gesture swipes, Face ID, and Animoji novelty wears off, it's just another iPhone the last 10 years.

Smartphone tech has matured. It's not 2007-2012 anymore when we could still be wowed. Most people could care less about color gamut, dynamic range, blah blah blah. It's NOT rocket science to most. Some are using Safari app right now and I doubt it's really pushing the limit to that A-chip.

Same exact apps from the previous models. Usage doesn't change.

Not gonna lie. I'm just happy to be able to use a phone that uses the same processor, has the same RAM and has the same storage as the best iPhone yet.

And I seriously was just joking. Not trying to continue on the war.

I am generally of your opinion. I admire the engineering behind the iPhone X, but it's not on my shopping list.

That said, you're not winning anyone over by an unsourced litany of alleged issues with the phone. Even if the iPhone X was a total disaster (like the Galaxy Note 7), rubbing it everyone's faces would not likely change a lot of minds, nor make any friends.

Not here to win anyone over. Just telling it how it is. The X is being made an ex pretty quickly by alot of those who got it. This was supposed to be the biggy and it has underwhelmed.

Based on what?

Anticipation, frustration and hype. I think the OP is expressing their frustration. After all the talk we read about people pinging their Internet connections to make sure they were one of the first to preorder, staying up all night, speculation about features, excitement over no bezels, waiting in line, and then it turns out to be just a .... phone.

You put something that high on a pedestal for some it will be a disappointment. I’m sure it’s a very nice, bezeless, overpriced piece of hardware. For others not so much.

Sorry that you can’t afford one bro.

Never mind the hundreds of users here who are very happy with their purchase but don't bother to post about it. But you're pretty good at glossing yourself, I'll admit that.

so you use TWO THREADS as examples? you do realise one of those was when the phone was announced and not out, right?

millions and millions who bought the x are very happy with it i'm sure.

You are making this thread just to try to justify your note 8. Enjoy your phone but don't come here making false claims that people aren't happy or are bored. It's a phone at the end of the day.
