That he won't answer and/or we'll not see macOS for the iPad, especially if we see a touchscreen MBP that's rumored to be released this fall. What do y’all think?
I think apple wouldn't want to lose Mac OS hardware sale.
I mean, The “MacOS apps on iPad feature” should act as a compatibility layer inside iPadOS instead of a separate MacOS port. That he won't answer and/or we'll not see macOS for the iPad, especially if we see a touchscreen MBP that's rumored to be released this fall.
I have an M4 iPad Pro, which can already run AAA games!I think apple wouldn't want to lose Mac OS hardware sale.
To be frank, I don't see the point of sending this. No one who has any say in the matter will ever read it, and those who do have a say don't live in a vacuum. They've definitely weighed the pros and cons of running MacOS on iPads for years. It's their job, after all. For better or worse, they've decided against it for the time being.
That makes it less likely since it will cost money to implement such a feature and it only benefits a small percentage, its unlikely to occur imo. Also Apple has been making iPadOS more multitasking friendly so I don't see apple going there.& Regarding my suggestion, it’s mostly a feature for power users!
Neo is a non factor here, it’s an entry level product. Apple would rather you buy a more expensive M iPad and spend money on the App store, including Mac apps if they ever became available.[

As I said, allowing the iPad to run macos apps, will only muddy the waters regarding what to buy and confuse consumers. If the iPad is allowed to run macos apps, then what motivation is there to have a the neo?
Not sure your motivation to add in your current situation regarding the conflicts in the middle east - I'm in no way dismissing or diminishing them, but it comes off as you're trying to use a horrible situation to motivate or manipulate Tim Cook to your desired resolution.
So what? The architecture might be the same, but the form factors are incompatible.I mean, The “MacOS apps on iPad feature” should act as a compatibility layer inside iPadOS instead of a separate MacOS port.
Secondly, both M-series Macs AND M-series iPads have the exact same architecture in the CPU, just different OSes!
And yet it seems many, many people here at MR are lining up to buy it.Neo is a non factor here, it’s an entry level product. Apple would rather you buy a more expensive M iPad and spend money on the App store, including Mac apps if they ever became available.
Yes because it’s cheap as chips but a very low profit device for Apple, and not locked to the App store. Higher tier products do not pander to the entry level products, it’s the other way round as we all know with Apples pricing ladder. And yet it seems many, many people here at MR are lining up to buy it.
I agree it was meant to be an entry level product, but it seems its more then that for the majority of people who use computers. Those people who need a M4 or M5 processor, will not be considering an iPad to use even if it could run macos

Do you have evidence that its very low profit margins? Apple in the past avoided the netboook debacle where PC makers made dirt cheap low powered laptops with razor thin margins. That almost bankrupted a number of pc makers. I don't think apple would fall into that trapYes because it’s cheap as chips but a very low profit device for Apple
Any yet members are lining up to buy that entry level product. Reviewer after reviewer states that the neo is sufficient for most consumer needs. So we have both regular users and power users looking to buy this.Higher tier products do not pander to the entry level products
No doubtI find the M5 to be great for processing for very large RAW images and 4K videos on the 13" Pro.
No doubt
Ok, but it seems a laptop would be have been a better deal all around. Why did you choose the iPad?Point being, that I purposely chose an M5 tablet over a laptop for those tasks.

13" iPad Pro 9 cpu core/10 gpu core, 256GB storage 12GB of ram with keyboard its $1650
13" MBA 10 cpu core/8 gpu cores 512GB of storage 16GB of ram $1,100 dollar
Fair enough, but by choosing the iPad over the MBA, you are accepting the limitations of iPadOS, including being in a walled garden. This thread is about the OP requesting that apple port macos over to the iPad and I offered my opinions on why this will likely not happen.Because I wanted a tablet form factor

I am in no way saying the iPad is an inferior device - I own a iPad Pro myself.
Again, that's awesomeThe limitations do not impact my usage.
