I keep checking my front door like a crack head. I did pre-sign for the package, I'm just hoping they ring the door bell as soon as they drop it off..
I get Ground packages 3-4 days a week, so my Regular UPS guy doesn't even ring the bell anymore, since my Dogs are annoying as hell.

Off Topic but while you are waiting :)

I have 2 Nest. I actually save more by precooling my home (live in Phoenix) because of Time of Use plan. Nest has nothing that addresses that sadly.

With just Nest I was able to save from the previous owners that just stuck the thermostat on 78, but by precooling I was able to knock off $100 a month.

It is still cool to be able to adjust the thermostat remotely, and with a plugin it connects to my home automation system.

If you aren't on a Time of Use, it will save you tho.

78!? Holey moley that's hot. I keep mine at a max of 72. Everyone is different I suppose. I would sweat my butt off in bed with the thermostat that high, though.

Did you get it yet?
how about now?
now?
NOW???????

:(

78 here is like 72 anywhere that you have humidity. (Moved from east coast and thought the same)

Folks regularly walk around in suits here at 100 and you don't sweat because of the low humidity...

That's exactly how I feel...I know that between 1-3p my time EST is my UPS prime-time lol. Everything sounds like a brown truck.

Don't forget to put some pee pads down for when it arrives... unless your carpet is already yellow.

dont forget contingency plan:

leave car reverse parked in driveway and keys in hand in case you miss the attempt and have to chase down the driver

This is what a DoorBot is for...

It will even ring your phone with a picture of the delivery guy and you can chat with him :D

Anyone else want to hide in the bushes and sign for it? I'll drive!

Yes this is the best model. And I'm not just saying that because I'm typing this on one. I swear. O:)
second best, actually.

64GB Silvers Rule!

Huh? It automatically precools if you turn that option on. It changes your schedule from setting at that time to being at that temp at that time.

it's okay, I was doing the same thing but was sitting on my bed looking out my window LOL

Like many of you, I have all the windows open so I can hear the diesel engine of the FedEx truck. Unfortunately, my appartment complex is doing some construction right now so all I hear is diesel engines.

I look out the window every time I hear a noise. Unfortunately its trash collection day so there are a bunch of false alarms

It's here!!!

Just wait, all our iPhones will be delivered at 7:59 tonight and we all wasted an entire day looking out our windows. Meanwhile the FedEx/UPS guys are just like:

I had my phone drop service just after activation as well. I rebooted and everything came back perfect, and it's been fine since, including a few reboots due to restoring my iPhone 5 backup as well as after installing 7.0.1.

I live in Florida, the ink on the pages of my book would be smudged and stuck together by the time he came. The humidity here is crazy during this time of year!

I was born and raised in Florida so I understand the humidity problem. You should be reading on a Kindle and you won't have the problem of smudged ink.;)

Not the same. What that is doing is saying that if I want the house at a temp, it knows how long it takes to cool and will 'make it happen' by that time. What I am talking about is cooling lower than the desired temp by a few degrees to allow 'coasting' during peak. (Basically you cool the stuff in your house and it helps keep it cool during peak hours. )

Currently, Nest could care less if it fires up 2 ac units at the same time during peak and does nothing to limit how often it comes on. (If you have 2 nest thermostats they are aware of each other and 'talk' to each other).

For a $300 device that touts itself as saving money, missing time of use is clearly a miss. Folks on the Nest forum have asked and it's been panned by the Nest folks. (They interact with folks on ideas they do like)

It's not a deal breaker but it definitely won't save as much as you could.

Google thermal mass and ac precooling.

It's here! But it's saying no service so I guess something happened during the activation? Everything reported as successful.

Call. Both of ours did the same. AT&T messed up attaching them to our account took 90 min phone call to fix but they immediately credited $60 to my acct for inconvenience.
