Whatever happens to the "hot product" by Apple at any given time is what MacRumors tends to align itself with overall.

Right now, that happens to be the iPhone 4.

Don't like it, find another forum... there's nothing unusual going on here, every new product release of any kind gets a week or two of rampant "everything" across this website.

Move along...
Oh I have found another better forum.;)

Judging by the teenage posts in this thread it is really obvious that MR is lost forever.

I'm almost tempted to cancel my account because I'm sick of reading about all these complaints. If you don't like your phone then take it back. I've been using Apple products for many years, and I am fully confident Apple will make this right one way or another. Just have to give it a little time. The phone only came out six days ago! I'm certain Apple has every available engineer working on a solution. Lets just have a little patience please. I'm not even going to enter the forums for a while until all this non-sense blows over. See y'all in a couple weeks.

Are you unable to not read? No one is forcing you to read complaints. You do have the ability to skip thread that sound like they're complaining.

Apple will likely NOT fix this unless people keep complaining. This is a hardware design issue. First time ever for Apple. There is no simple fix.

you guys should check out the google nexus one forums!

Blocked on my work computer... :(

It really does become second nature to tune out all the "LOL"s, "soooooooooo"s, ""s and other general immaturity. I had a pretty good ignore list going but the newbie turnover rate around here is astounding.

I'm so sorry someone is forcing you to read every thread that is posted, especially the ones that are just complaining.

...come on. Just don't open the threads if they sound like complaining/whining!
Well, that's easier said than done!
I too am sick of the antenna crap showing up in EVERY single thread. It gets annoying.
Exactly.

I'm sick of the complaining too. Not all of it, but the people who just won't stop talking about it in every single thread. I recognize that some people have genuine problems, and others just like to complain, but it's the people who want to $h!t in every thread that get to me.

I'm not going to quit MR because of it--though I have taken breaks in the past and may again soon--but it's definitely tiresome.

Welome to any typical messageboard out there.

This forum could be about basket weaving, and people would still troll and complain.

I personally don't try to read everything on here. But I do enjoy the positive feedback. I noticed forums are filled with a bunch of whiny, Debbie Downers. Before launch day, I was getting worried about all the problems the iPhone 4 had from all the reports. It became a turn-off. Then when I got it, I had no problems and worried over nothing. Perhaps just a bunch of OCD/jealous/FAndroids who work or are on a different carrier. Forums makes you overanalyze and overthink the situation.

if its true that apple has every available engineer working on the problem they should come out and say so. This "issue" is only getting larger with each passing day because we hear nothing from Apple about a fix. All Apple has to do is announce a fix is in the works and it will settle down the feisty Apple villagers.

Absolutely correct!

Absolutely correct!

Nope , Because then people will complain about the following

1) It's taking too long
2) Should have been quicker
3) We don't care if there is a fix because this would have never happened on the android platform
4) etc

There will be people who will never be satisfied with any resolution. Because some people are just going to be negative because it's apple and they have a personal vendetta

She’s speaking to you, I think. Do we have to read about your reception issue in every thread? Move on. You already said you weren’t going to keep the iPhone even if Apple fixes the problem.
VVVVV

I'd tell you to call someone who cares, and actually mean it, but I'm afraid of the fact that you might own an iPhone 4 and, well, you'd really find yourself in a pickle...

Brandon, I share your thoughts... but hang in there... the negative bots will go soon ... I feel like some victim of a home invasion... which I am sure makes them very happy.

Yeah it's obnoxious - especially if you don't agree, but the thing is that it's just the hot topic of the moment.

I have an iPhone 4 complete with action death grip and I'm enjoying being able to check up on the latest.... but it was only a few months ago that I had to sift through HUNDREDs and hundreds of iPad posts (not that there were as many complaints) which were entirely irrelevant to me since I wasn't getting an iPad any time soon.

You could cancel your account... but everything will be back to normal in a few weeks.

We discussed this forever in another thread, but is “back to normal” where there aren’t any new members? Everyone was new at time. Besides, most of these new members lately won’t be here in a month or so.
When I joined back in 2002 the site had a community feel and everyone was friendly with each other. The site had a certain charm and nobody took themselves seriously. Now it has overgrown and the identity that was MacRumors is gone. The damage done by the iPhone won't change the site back to its former self. A new generation of me and now has taken over and the personal feeling is over. MacRumors used to be a unique part of the internet, now it is just like every other forum.

OP, just don't devote your time to such forums. Registering as a member doesn't require you to return day after day.

I'm right there with you.

This board has become so much more difficult to navigate because of the constant thread-crapping with complaints, as well as the numerous threads all on the same subject.

I initially joined in 2007 to get information about purchasing a Macbook. At the time there were complaints...but it was USEFUL information...not this complaint fest...

For example, due to some really good Macrumors posters, I knew to wait for the Macbook with the Santa Rosa chip...and to wait out a bad production batch from late 2007. There was REAL information here. Sure, there was SOME sniping, but nothing on the order of people asking questions, and then responding back with attacks when they didn't like the answer (as we saw in the "Why Can 't I Open More than 8 Safari windows At A Time" thread).

Now it's just a bitch-fest...Pointless...

So, a discussion forum is now being dissed because it's a discussion forum. Sorry that you're not getting the filtered perfect content you seem to think you got in the past, folks, but... well, whatever.

If you want information about Apple products, that's what Apple.com is for. Why would anyone be concerned about potential defects or problems with Apple products? They're Apple products, for Pete's sake, they're perfect and without defects. Didn't you folks get the memo?

"Can't we all just get along?"

So this is a thread complaining about other threads full of complaints? :p

(not that there's anything wrong with that...)

I find forums to provide a fascinating insight into the minds of people. I read a couple of forums, some of which are fan forums for various things, and I find it amazing the pure amount of hate and vitriol that is spewed via this medium.

A discussion forum should be about discussion, that is not the case here anymore. It is about entitlement issues now. This has become the Apple complain department.

And that's a damned good thing too, since Apple Support actively censors/deletes anything they don't like, period. That's not the case here, even in spite of some people wishing everything related to the antenna and other iPhone 4 issues would simply be deleted with one fell swoop of a Mod's mouse-click.

Sorry, it ain't happening.
