It is seriously getting tiresome and 40% of the threads are complaints and it doesn't end. Happen last year, happened the year before that.
Its like people feel like they have no one else to talk to and they need these boards to make them feel better about every conscious decision.
ITS a ********** phone. And for a lot of people here....a phone you will replace in one year. If its that bad.....RETURN IT. It's called 30 day warranty, play the game you were given. If its the same as your old phone, then Why are you even complaining.
1 billion phones are sold PER YEAR. You have other choices. But we aren't your family, don't come to us when times are bad. Problems have been stated and either deal with it or return it.
YOU HOLD ALL THE POWER. DEAL WITH IT. YOU ARE TYE CONSUMER. Sorry I am being harsh, but grow a pair. At least for your iPhone.....you'll come out a better person. Promise.
Doubely promise......with cherries and sprinkles
I am rarely one to be biased due to post counts or registration dates, but June 2010 has been a tough month for Mac Rumors. The number of new sign ups has been astronomical, and they have had no problem just jumping right in and having a go.
Personally when I join a new forum, I spend time getting to know the forum, the people, how things are done, what is okay and not okay that kind of stuff. Perhaps make a few innocous replies to other threads etc etc.
Some of the JunTennies have started more threads in a week or two than long-contributing members have made in years.
I think the lack of consideration is pretty noticeable and it is mostly coming from a percentage of the new sign ups.
I think it is great that MacRumors is growing like wildfire, but I think it sucks that a good percentage of the new people coming on are not house trained.
. I'm not even going to enter the forums for a while until all this non-sense blows over. See y'all in a couple weeks.

How do people get into a position where they are taking a break from a forum?
I'm almost tempted to cancel my account because I'm sick of reading about all these complaints. If you don't like your phone then take it back. I've been using Apple products for many years, and I am fully confident Apple will make this right one way or another. Just have to give it a little time. The phone only came out six days ago! I'm certain Apple has every available engineer working on a solution. Lets just have a little patience please. I'm not even going to enter the forums for a while until all this non-sense blows over. See y'all in a couple weeks.

I feel like people who seriously get upset with what they read on a message board need lives
I'll be perfectly honest: I stopped reading right there, thanks.
I got my answer, exactly what I expected.![]()
Yes new users who expect to get what they pay for and don't just bend over to Steve Jobs.
I can't quit you MacRumors. Not now.

It seems DoFoT9 has already partly answered for me.
To answer your question... We can clearly see which type of demographic Apple is aiming their products at. Sure, anyone can buy an Apple product, but we clearly see that Apple has put MUCH thoughts into aesthetic and quality material into their products AND charge a hefty premium. This premium will drive the uneducated low class away in droves... Sure they would love to own one, but it's VERY unlikely they'll shell out to buy one. There are only a few groups of people who will shell out that premium:
1) Rich people is generally the higher class folks, but I'll concede that there are plenty of shallow minded rich folks, too. However, when we think rich folks... we think classy high class.
2) People who appreciate and value beauty. Anyone can appreciate things of beauty, but only those who truly value them will shell out money to own said things of beauty. Think paintings... Why do high class people buy them and why do common folks think it's absurd to spend $$$ on a painting to... just let it sit there and.... to be looked at? I think it's safe to say that anyone who's willing to shell out money to own a thing of beauty has some part of a classy eye, which, I think, generally are of middle class people and above.
3) People who appreciate build quality of a product. Again, back to the premium pricing of Apple products... Usually educated people value their money investments in products that will last over a cheap working product that will require replacements more often. I'm sure we've all heard of the reaction of... "I can buy TWO laptop PCs with that money you just spend on your MacBook Pro!"
So really. I don't see how it's so hard to believe that someone like myself would get the impression that Apple product users are generally a cut above the average population in terms of intelligence and ETIQUETTE.
For the record... I'm by no mean an Apple "fanboy" defending the Apple's "prestigious high horse"... My main desktop system is a custom built Intel Core i7. My laptop is a MacBook Pro. And my soon to be phone is the iPhone 4. I go where power/performance or just "best of the crop" are in general.
So there you have it. You asked why I have such views. There's my answer.![]()
