I never sleep tracked last night, as I creamed my hands.Hey everyone! I’ve noticed that my sleep quality has been dropping lately, especially since the past week. In March, I had the best sleep data ever, but things have been a bit off since then.
Last night, I had a major coughing fit in the middle of the night, which woke me up. It ended up subtracting a few minutes from my sleep tracking times in bed.
On top of that, my health app on my iPhone gave me a second warning that my vitals went haywire because of this. It’s strange because my blood oxygen levels were normal, but the other day when I first got the alert, they were even worse when I got the nasty cold.
I slept from 11:45 pm to 7 am.

@The Cockney Rebel bruv still could not sleep man? Do you set a sleep timer or listen to white noise from your iPad Pro?
Hey there! So, you haven’t worn your watch in bed yet, huh?I never sleep tracked last night, as I creamed my hands.
However, I do not trust the sleep tracking feature.
I swear I don't sleep as long as it claims.
In fact, it's almost impossible.
I have a chest infection 🤮.Hey there! So, you haven’t worn your watch in bed yet, huh?
🛌
You mentioned earlier that you couldn’t sleep in the middle of the night. What were you doing on your iPad Pro last night?
I totally get you. I woke up in the middle of the night for like an hour last night too.
For the same thing like the other night.
It’s been a tough time since I was unwell.
🤧
Oh no, that’s so unfortunate!I have a chest infection 🤮.
I’ve just started antibiotics.Oh no, that’s so unfortunate!
Did you have a bad night’s sleep and/or a high temperature?
I suggest you start tracking your sleep again with your AW. The vitals app will let you know if anything’s wrong.
For example, if you’ve been wheezing or coughing a lot in the middle of the night, it’ll show that your breathing is too fast.
But since you have a Series 10, it can also track your blood oxygen and body temperature overnight.
Take some paracetamol bruv 👊!!! Keep a tumbler of water by your bedside!
Good 👍 😂 ain’t a healthcare provider I’m just an Apple fan and a uni student passionate bout technology!I’ve just started antibiotics.
You’re my mental health advisor, doctor, and PA 😀.
Only happened twice.Good 👍 😂 ain’t a healthcare provider I’m just an Apple fan and a uni student passionate bout technology!
Glad you got the paracetamol though but if the temperature does not go away or there’s immense pain like crazy you should contact your gp. 🧑⚕️
But I should be a peer advocate for y’all’s mental health first!!!
Still sorted on the afib notification that your Apple Watch gave you weeks ago? Or that’s sorted ✔️ already?
Glad that tickled you, Night 😀.I’ve just started antibiotics.

Hope you feel better soon!Glad that tickled you, Night 😀.

The infection right? That’s not good.Only happened twice.
I have antibiotics, not just paracetamol.
There is an electric pink band? Is it from Apple? The infection right? That’s not good.
But antibiotics are better than paracetamol ngl… they fight off the bacteria 🧫!
What Apple Watch band is on right now? Strapping in the electric pink!
Sage sport loop. The infection right? That’s not good.

It’s a sport loop… from the original Apple Watch Series 3 days. There is an electric pink band? Is it from Apple?
You are surely loving it! Sage is a much brighter color than the Olive sport loop strap.Sage sport loop.
That actually looks like something I wouldn't mind wearing! I pictured the whole fabric being electric pink, but it's just the edge. It’s a sport loop… from the original Apple Watch Series 3 days.

Well, I hope you feel better soon. Having insomnia when sick is just the worst.I just had a nap, which is unheard of for me, but I never slept at all last night.
My Apple Watch never recorded it, though.
What was that paid for sleep tracking app that someone mentioned in one of my threads?
I’m happy to pay the £7, if it’s more accurate.
These antibiotics are making me feel s****y.
I use an app called Sleep++I just had a nap, which is unheard of for me, but I never slept at all last night.

Thanks a lot, Richard.Well, I hope you feel better soon. Having insomnia when sick is just the worst.
I also know what you mean about naps. I used to be able to nap but now I just lay down and "rest my eyes" because I can't really fall asleep in the day. I noticed in my 20s that I would come home from work very tired and sometimes take a "Power Nap" of just a couple minutes to refresh myself. I miss being able to do that.
I have been tracking my sleep with the app built in. I bet @goldmac2006 would know what app you are talking about.
Yep they weave lots of blue colors together on the middle and the lugs and sides are pink themselves. That actually looks like something I wouldn't mind wearing! I pictured the whole fabric being electric pink, but it's just the edge.

Honestly, I don’t use any external sleep tracking apps, especially since many of them are paid. Instead, I rely on the native sleep tracking app from the Apple Watch. I then use the data from there to determine my ideal routine, recovery status, and energy levels on the Peaks app. I also track my training load on the Fitness app on my iPhone and my activity on the Apple Watch app.Well, I hope you feel better soon. Heard of that before it’s really popular. Try it out dude. Put back that Apple Watch on to go to sleep. Thanks a lot, Richard.
Means a lot.
I found the app; it’s called Autosleep Track.

I would probably sound like a health nut or conspiracy theorists but hear me out first.I hardly get any sleep.
Maybe a couple of hours, with medication, if I’m lucky.
How would sleep tracking help me?
Also, does it auto recognise sleep, now, and record that?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the advice.I would probably sound like a health nut or conspiracy theorists but hear me out first.
So I had pretty much bad sleep 7 years ago and could wake up literally from cats meowing outside. And I remember my high school days – I couldn’t sleep at all sometimes. But then I was able to get to the point of PERFECT sleep that even bombs and explosions would probably not wake me up out of sudden😄 And all meds-free. Not even need for alcohol, noticed it would only make sleep worse at times.
First thing first that I tuned is my water intake. Two liters a day, no less no more. And that doesn’t include tea or soups. Water: flavored (with lime and honey) or clean water. Massive increase in sleep quality overal.
Number two: fresh air. I always open windows to get some fresh air before sleeping. Or else I start choking in the midst of night because of lack of oxygen.
Number three: walking at least 2-4km a day helps ALOT, especially walks before the bedtime.
Number four: minimum caffeine intake + no caffeine 4 hours before sleeping, or else I would risk not being able to sleep for two more hours. Ideally – one cup of strong coffee in the morning (or one-two cups of tea a day at max).
Not sure if it helps but my number 4.5 is clean diet. I am trying to eliminate all unnatural stuff from my food and rely less and less on heavily processed food and cook myself;
And my number 5 that requires almost minimum investments: I disable all electromagnetic radiation around myself when I go to sleep.
And no, I don’t wear tinfoil hat😄 I also don’t have or wear Apple Watch and if I had ones I wouldn’t wear them overnight too.
My theory is that body would act like conductor for wifi waves and cellphone signals during sleep. Well, do we need this when our bodies fall asleep? Nope. So I learned to turn off all my wifi-enabled devices for night, I would put them on charging and then turn off. Before that I just put it on airplane mode and disabled wifi with my Shortcuts script but learned turning off with a script makes even more sense, when I wake up phone is always charged and perfectly ice cool to touch, maybe it is very beneficial for iPhone battery too!
Other observations:
- using screen protector on new iPhones to some point helps with digital eye strain. Matte screen protectors work best but glossy ones seem to do their job too;
- better not to use iPhone before sleep and use MacBook instead, watching movie helps me become sleepy much faster. Especially nice if you have TV
