Again, it doesn't mean there is a unique overheating issue for the 15 Pro. People, including everyone writing for MacRumors apparently, have suddenly decided on a new definition of the word "overheating".

By that logic, the iPhone 15 (with A16) I found on display at the Apple Store running super hot for no discernible reason must be "overheating" too.

It is clear there is a software issue causing phones to run hotter than they should be, but when you do any side by side test between a 14 Pro and 15 Pro you will not find the 15 Pro gets meaningfully hotter. Which is why nobody is quoting those tests and everyone is pointing to nonsense headlines and completely inaccurate claims by Kuo, or anecdotes from people whose phones got a bit hot in the car.

yes they are completely responsible, the pilot is always responsible.
That’s like saying that Microsoft is responsible for every poorly coded third party program or driver the crashes on Windows….

I don’t think it was a bad launch at all. There are just more people ready to criticise Apple online than ever and I believe they represent nothing more than an extremely vocal minority which is not indicative of how Apple’s user base is enjoying their shiny new purchases.

Apple will continue to sell a boatload of devices and do well financially, and the haters will continue to latch on to the next manufactured controversy to bash Apple over.

I will not let them have their way with this world.

I did with the unboxtherapy video and you criticized me for posting that when I was just being responsible and linking all those tests regardless of outcome…

You made a bunch of baseless claims, and the one video you linked had nothing to do with any of them. You straight up proclaimed that it didn't matter that you didn't back up your claims because this is just an anonymous forum.

We have been lucky that every iphone launch maybe had a minor software bug that was easy to patch.

That changed with the iPhone 15 pro.

Phones overheating. BMW vehicles bricking the NFC chip. Powerbanks being charged by the iPhone instead of the other way around. OLED Burn-in.

I feel that this specific product has one of the worst product launches Apple has ever had. I think the product was released before it was ready.

Will the executive chef at Apple figure out how to fix this dumpster fire?

15 Pros don’t really overheat, in fact they are cooler than 14 Pros.

Also, there is no burn-in, not really. Like with every product, some unlucky people end up with a defective product, but that’s the nature of mass production for you.

Not sure about BMWs, but it seems the problem is on their side.

iPhone has reached such levels of popularity in mainstream as well as tech communities that there are always so many dramatic reports and “gates”. Same as every year - that’s how you get clicks. The truth is - this is a great launch of an amazing product. I’m sure actual user satisfaction will, once again, be off the charts. So, what dumpster fire?

A lot of mad apple fanboys/ girls in here. Apple released a beta os for iPhone 15 they knew was not ready. Which is causing a lot of issues. iPhone 14 pro max I think is still a better phone. ( I got both )

People are suggestive. This year it seems they noticed that their phones get warm with all the fast charging and Qi charging and doing stuff while you fast charge. There was a bug that caused certain apps and system stuff to go crazy with resources, so a small group of people experienced actual, temporary issues. This caused a bunch of other people to notice that - imagine that - high performance, pocket-sized computers can get warm.

iPhone 15 Pro is probably the least warm iPhone I had. It stays really cool even under stress. So, there is no “overheating issue”, is there? Just another day in Apple land. Coming up: people discover that glass can break! Stay tuned!

I mean I have had almost every iPhone at lunch. The 14 pro / max are built better
How so? What are the ways in which the 14 Pros were built better? And how do you know you didn’t just get a bad unit this year and generalising that build quality to all devices?

This year’s iPhones:

There is no heating problem.

The back glass will never break.

No burn in or image retention.

No gaps.

NFC will never fail!

PVC does not scratch and there was never any fingerprint residue.

Any issues are all third party apps.

Tim Cook is a God!

Everyone Rejoice!

Most of what you described is third party related. How is Apple responsible for how every third party device is going to perform?
Bollocks. The apps on the App Store are approved by Apple. So the tired, antiquated excuse of blaming 3rd party apps doesn’t wash.

If Apple does not test their software, and especially their hardware, with widely utilized, extremely popular, and approved apps downloaded from the App Store that is 100% their negligence and they deserve every bit of blowback they are due. That was the point of the App Store!!

Your comment comes off as 100% apologist nonsense.

Did you forget about the iPhone 4, iPhone 6 and iPhone 7? Remember the 4 had antenna-gate in which Consumer Reports recommended not to buy ( I would never listen to them). Then the "you're holding it wrong and here is a free bumper" came from it.

Th iPhone 6 Plus was a nice folding phone before they became mainstream. We ended up with a splint of sorts in post launch 6 Pluses which led to stronger series aluminum in the following release of the 6S.

The 7 was giving the random halo of purple during photos. Let us add the random No SIM issues that plagued the 7 leading to the repair program launched from Apple.

For software iOS 13 was the worst iOS launched outside of 11.

It's just bad optics even if it has nothing to do with titanium. When people hear titanium they expect a stronger phone or at least the one that is the same as the previous model. Sure maybe the rounded corners and better reparability are to blame, but again, the optics of it all are just not in Apple's favor.

MKBHD cracked his phone too easily, which he claims has never happened before. He also mentioned sudden heating up for no reason and losing 5 or 10% of battery quickly, which is consistent with reports online.

This is why a yearly release is starting to become more of a pain point. I do not think, Apple, Samsung or the rest can handle pumping phones out within a year or a little less. It should be a tick tock cycle. Hardware one year, second year the software improves and is more stable. The whole " beta for 3 months with an ever growing list of hardware leads to more a mess.
