🙄 Just because I don't agree with you doesn't make me a blind fanatic. I'm plenty critical of Apple, but I try to make decisions based on useful evidence, not just a bunch of random anecdotes and people pointlessly destroying devices.
My little experiment quickly shows that both sides of the issue are pretty well balanced. The moderation on issues alone is perfect as far as I can see.

Rock on forum members!

FYI "linking all those tests" is not "just being responsible" when said tests were mostly created to just sensationalize. It is trolling.

They didn't even link tests anyway. They made a bunch of claims about the SoC having QC issues, Apple throttling it in an upcoming update, and titanium "having to go" because it was also causing "overheating".

When called out repeatedly, they finally just said it doesn't matter that they don't back up their claims because there is no reputational damage when everyone is anonymous. That is the calibre of person we're dealing with when they keep popping into these threads.

And the one test they linked to really had nothing to do with anything, and the result went against everything they had been saying anyway.

If any of you are journalists then you know the ranking of iPhone issues in the grand scheme of things. I would not judge the value of a person based on how that person feels about a particular cell phone.

Sure there is cash involved with an iPhone launch but that has has no effect on me. Stay balanced and realize it is just a device and not a lifestyle. Apple was good at pitching this but it was all just an attempt to extract cash from your pocket. There is no permanent good life from buying a product as opposed to self-actualization and making your own corner of the world a better place - if we all just did that the world “would” be a better place.

This is entertainment and sometimes helpful to those that have technical issues…

lmao.
Sorry you’re having a crappy experience with a launch device. Also, I see at least one of these a year 😛

Here is a comprehensive list, in order, of every iPhone launch that was worse than all prior iPhone launches:

1. iPhone 15
2. iPhone 14
3. iPhone 13
4. iPhone 12
5. iPhone 11
6. iPhone XS
7. iPhone X
8. iPhone 9
9. iPhone 8
10. iPhone 7
11. iPhone 6S
12. iPhone 6
13. iPhone 5S
14. iPhone 5
15. iPhone 4S
16. iPhone 4

If people didn't keep making false claims with no source the world would be a better place.

The fact that "it's just a phone, it's just entertainment" or "we're all anonymous so it doesn't matter anyway" doesn't excuse purposely spreading misinformation.

If you think the 15 Pro sucks, or Apple sucks, that's fine. But when the rest of us are trying to have a discussion about what's actually happening, and you find it entertaining to spread misinformation, don't be surprised when the people trying to have the discussion you're disrupting don't react kindly to it.

If I don’t believe I’m spreading disinformation - am I spreading disinformation? In a discussion who knows for sure the truth? If it were obvious there would be no discussion. So you are not sure of your position in the end anymore than I am.

That’s a discussion…

In the brief time I’ve been here I’ve noticed you have a propensity for posting links to YouTube videos and regurgitating hyperbolic statements you read on the internet rather than adding anything original to the discussion.

I wandered into an apple store few days ago and handled the 15 Pro.
The choice of Ti as construction material is baffling and I don't see what it
contributes to the functionality or design of the phone.
It feels flimsy and does not have the heft of previous models.
Almost as if they picked Ti just to be able to brag... since there is nothing much else
inside to shout about.
Glad I cancelled my order long before it was due to ship.

That’s how the press works.

Providing the reader or viewer with as much content as possible puts them in the best position to make an informed judgement.

If I did luck into new information. I would post it but media outlets of all forms do what I do to inform the public. If say something new here they want sources to corroborate - happened before.

If I did a test I would post it on YouTube to get it out there. Some members here actually do that. So some issues I posted here are actual Macrumors members who don’t want to post their own material lest it be looked at as promotional. The information is still valid for discussion though.

I have edited some material out of here but I have written papers for publication and peer review…

We have been lucky that every iphone launch maybe had a minor software bug that was easy to patch.

That changed with the iPhone 15 pro.

Phones overheating. BMW vehicles bricking the NFC chip. Powerbanks being charged by the iPhone instead of the other way around. OLED Burn-in.

I feel that this specific product has one of the worst product launches Apple has ever had. I think the product was released before it was ready.

Will the executive chef at Apple figure out how to fix this dumpster fire?
Luck of the draw? I haven’t a single issue with the 15p. It’s a great device🌸

It's not providing people with content, it's making fact claims based on no credible information whatsoever. Regarding your many claims:

I asked you for evidence that 15 Pros were overheating more than previous iPhones. Nothing.

I asked you for evidence titanium was causing worse heat dissipation compared to the previous few years of pro iPhones. Nothing.

I asked you for evidence that the 15 Pro was reaching meaningfully higher temps than the 14 Pro. Nothing.

I asked you for evidence Apple was going to throttle the A17 Pro in a future update, or even a credible reason that would be necessary in the first place. Nothing.

In the other thread you brushed that all off as questions you didn't have to answer because we're all just anonymous and it doesn't matter. That's between you and your conscience I suppose, but don't expect everyone else to be OK with being purposely misled, apparently for your entertainment.

How does a weight of an object equate to durability? Because it hits the ground harder? Because it’s more cumbersome to handle for many people? A false sense value just because it’s heavy? A lead case would solve the light weight issue.

Nothing wrong with that.

I’ve been an Apple customer since the 90s and have never returned a product due to problems.

My 15 Pro is the first that is going back. My 13 Pro is a great phone. I just had Apple replace the battery and I’ll think it will continue to be my phone for a while.

Very unimpressed with Apple lately. The Mac Pro was also very disappointing and I’m seriously considering leaving Apple altogether, within two years, if they don’t get their act together.

Because that's my assessment of it?

I agree but only for the 15 pro series. Its indeed one of the "worst" reception by the mainstream media I've seen in years basically because of the initial over heating issues, scratches that make the phones ugly and the fact that its one of the worst year in term of "new stuff" added over the previous year.

But in the other hand, the regular iPhone 15 have one of the best upgrade in years and have very good reception by medias.

Seriously? Just about every new iPhone, iOS, MacOS, Mac product launch goes something like this.

With iOS & iPhone battery drain and heat is frequently an unwelcome feature of the initial releases. With MacOS, nearly every new version of MacOS for the past FIFTEEN YEARS has come with external monitor wake issues for me that take months beofre they're resolved in a software update.

Not that I agree, but for a lot of people heavier=premium. That why some electronics deliberately put weights in them so it feels less “cheap”. Is human psychology.
