YES!!!! Thank you all for backing me up!! My family also has all my hand me downs when I upgrade and most of my friends think I am crazy. I must have them all. I want all the things. I am totally lusting over the 12inch MacBook but I have NO use for it so I am just trying not to think about it. At least with the iPads I know I will use them.

Hi I'm Tony and I too am addicted to devices. I came to this forum because I bought a (please don't hate me) Surface 3 (non-Pro) to "replace" my original iPad Mini. Didn't work. It gets about as much usage as my MBP, which is to say some, but my workhorse is still the Mini. Except my Mini is old and slow and it's painful to have that as my only iPad when I have been devoted to the platform since I bought this little guy 3 1/2 years ago. For years my wife has been amazed at how I have used my MBP so sparingly while the Mini has been my constant companion. Oh and I also have an iPhone 5 that's about the same vintage (I bought them a couple of months apart back in 2013).

I've been lurking on this forum for the past couple of weeks because I really want to upgrade but I can't decide between the Air2, the iPP 9.7 or the Mini 4. I work in IT so I can afford it, but we're in the process of buying a house so we have a self-imposed freeze on credit cards and large purchases. So since I can't buy anything right now I guess I'm getting my vicarious thrills reading about others' adventures. :)

Anyway, thanks for the thread, always nice to know you're not the only crazy one (my wife is the love of my life, but she's also a very thrifty, practical woman so she cannot comprehend my obsession with these beautifully designed toys!)
[doublepost=1461785474][/doublepost]Oh I forgot what I was going to say. I'd been considering selling the Surface to help fund an iPad purchase, but after reading this forum I'm more inclined to just keep it (it's my only Windows device and I do have Windows only software that runs on it). Besides what's wrong with having a collection of devices? Yeah, I can totally justify that! :-/

Ok! I did it! I have a 9.7 iPad Pro on the way!!! I will have an iPad mini 4, and iPad Pro 12.9 and an iPad Pro 9.7 and an iPhone 6s Plus!!! iOS overload! I also have an Apple Watch. Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! And get this, here are my colors:

iPad Pro 12.9 = Silver
iPad Pro 9.7 = Space Grey
iPad Mini = Gold
iPhone 6s Plus = Rose Gold

I can't wait to take a picture of them all together!

Love how your chose different colors for your devices :) My 12.9 Pro is silver, my 9.7 Pro is space grey, and my phone is also space grey.

My latest investment is the 2015 12 inch Retina Macbook, which you also mentioned. A electronic chain in Denmark had 20% discount, so I made a move. I think my use is very different from what I use my tablets for.

After reading everyone's replies to this thread I just might go for it! My MacBook Air is from 2011 and is the oldest device I own. I love it so much it's like a family member. I can't imagine replacing it with a different computer. Tablets and phones seem to come and go but I feel like I am going steady with the trusty MacBook Air. It's gone through so many different OS changes and is still chugging along like its brand new. I would miss her if I got a newer model.

Totally with the OP here.
I want and have them ALL. 6S Plus, 12.9" Pro, 9.7" Pro, 8" Mini, watch, 2013 Macbook Pro 13".
Oh, And i have a few Android devices as well :p

I am really starting to think it is a sickness! I am not one of those folks that thinks Apple can do no wrong, but I love the way all my products work so well together and give me little to know problems.

Here's a question for you guys that own the Apple Smart Keyboard. Do any of you feel they dropped the ball on that one? I teach film and spend most of my days in the dark. I had the ASK for my iPad Pro for a few days and in the dark I could not use it at all. I now have the Logitech Create and while the fading backlights irritates me a little, as the keys dim about 5 seconds after I lift my fingers, I LOVE this accessory. I just kind of hate that the one apple made didn't work out for me.

Stop it! You're tempting me to go out and get an iPP 9.7 to complete my addiction!

I'm trying to be so good....

I was too! I waited 4 months before I bought the 12 inch Pro! I thought that was pretty decent. This 9.7 inch is a different story though. The 9.7 inch has always been the sweet spot for me. I love the size. Now I will have the 12 inch for work. The 9 inch for my purse, and the mini that can live beside my bed for reading and games before bed. PERFECT!!!! Oh, and the phone for when it looks silly to be on an iPad and for the car. Apparently I must have a piece of tech in my face at all times.

Hello Lspice, let's see, I have a 2009 MBP, have has every iPhone since the 3G, regular years not S years. I am currently typing this with my new 12.9, my son has an iPad mini, my daughter is using an iPad Air 1. My wife will upgrade to the new ipone7 or whatever it's called. With that said, I am only partially addicted, but just love apple products..
Honestly, I envy you because I can't afford as many apple products as I want

I have this with the Macbooks, even the older ones I don't use them on a daily basis, but I need to have them, same with iPods, I have almost every ipod released, but I am always on eBay looking for more.

Also I am soooo close to buying the 12.9 iPad Pro, it would be an upgrade from the iPad Air so I guess I can justify it, I don't really need the bigger screen size, however after having played with it in the Apple Store I have fallen in love with it, I would say almost to the point of obsession, I don't think I could ever be happy with the 9.7 iPP.

I say just get them both and be done with it!!

Of course you have a use for it. It helps complete your collection and round off your Apple experience

I don't know how I would ever pick a color. I like them all. I would constantly be second guessing myself! I think the space grey is super hot though!

I understand that. My family and friends just don't get it. But I manage money very well and don't spend money on shoes, clothes, handbags, and makeup. I am happy to wear the same clothes I've had for years and keep the money for :apple: stuff. My girlfriends spend $400+ on bags sometimes and I have used the same handbag from Marshalls for 5 years or something. Priorities.

+1. Some women prefer spending $1000+ on designer handbags and thousands more on jewelry. A lot of my of my male co-workers are driving BMWs. I'd rather have the latest iPad.

im in a similar position.
just got a well paying job and currently only have my 2011 MBP and iPhone 6.
I am deciding between which 2 iPads to get.
I really want the 12.9 for drawing and the Mini 4 for reading but I'm also leaning towards the Kindle paperwhite for reading.
for those who have the 9.7 Pro does the True Tone display help in anyway with improved reading experience(eye fatigue)?
And for those with multiple iPads how do all of them have the same apps installed?

Nothing can beat a Kindle for reading - unless it's textbooks, which iPad is better for.

I have had the 12.9 Pro since a few weeks after it's launch, I remember it was pretty difficult to find at Apple Stores when it launched, the pencil and keyboard were out of stock for months.

Anyway, I picked up the 9.7 Pro about two weeks ago and I can't decide which one to keep! I have until tomorrow to return the 9.7 (14 day return policy at  Store), but I can't decide.

9.7: Love the form factor, more portable, easier to use/handle while on the couch or in bed. The apple cases/covers in multiple colors are fun. Just as fast and loud (speakers) as the 12.9. Playing games is a very nice experience, as most require you hold the iPad and it's much lighter, and the smaller display makes it easier to interact with. Multitasking is not as good, since it's smaller so I find that I don't use that function as often, and almost never use two apps full screen because it's simply not big enough. The Apple Smart Keyboard is rather small, the keys cramped for me, I don't enjoy using it as much as the larger 12.9 full keyboard option.

12.9: Large immersive display, loud speakers. Great for watching content like Hulu and Netflix. Multitasking is great, even when using two full screen apps, almost like having two iPad Pros in portrait mode. Any time multitasking is used, it's a much better experience than the 9.7. The Smart Keyboard is much easier to use, same as the Apple Bluetooth keyboard, meaning it's full size. The 12.9 its BIG, and it's a little hard to hold for extended periods of time, one handed can be done for like 30 seconds before it becomes uncomfortable. It almost gravitates toward a desk or table or your lap to be used in that way, rather than being held like a tablet. It's can be difficult to hold for long periods when reading iBooks for example. Playing games is a little difficult for the same reason, but games look amazing. Having to move your thumbs around the bigger screen isn't always easy. Not many Apple accessories.

I could keep both, but I've never had more than one iPad, so I don't know that I can do that.

Send help.

I'm in similar predicament with Air 2 waiting for iPad Pro 12.9 to arrive,

very well could keep them both, but not in any rush or bound to a return policy

Send help.

I think it's ok to have both. The do different things for you and that's ok. I can't imagine just have the 12.9 as my only iPad. I use it all day (literally) but when I get home I like to put it on the charger and ignore it til the next day. And forget it on weekends. But my mini gets use in my downtime when I'm not working. I hate my work issued laptop and have found that other than the occasional printing I can use iPad for all my work stuff. I say keep them both if money isn't an issue.

If I had to pick just one for money reasons though, I would say 9.7. That's probably my favorite size.

Ok guys, I am putting this here because there is no one in my life I can talk to about this. Everyone thinks I'm a crazy person. I have an iPad Pro 12.9 that I love. I have it in a Logitech Create case and I love the case too. I also have an iPad mini 4 that I love, and I have an iPhone 6s Plus. I keep everything backed up with an old but awesomely reliable MacBook Air that just serves as a desktop now and doesn't leave the house. I can access it remotely with splash top anytime I need it.

Now I am about two days away from getting the new 9.7! What is wrong with me? I love all three iPad sizes and have uses for all three of them. I gave my son my iPad Air 2 when I got my 12.9 Pro and I miss the size. Now that there is a new one out that I can use my pencil on I am excited to try it.

When I went into the Apple Store in 2007 and touched the first iPhone, something came over me that I have not been able to shake. It was just magic to me in a way my MacBook wasn't. I still get that feeling when I open and set up a new device. I know that iOS has some limitations but I love it and love devices that run it.

So... You can berate me for making a useless thread, fuss at me for over consumption of iPads, or gush right along with me.

Just needed a place to say this. Thanks!

Apple thanks you. :apple:

For consumption, I also enjoy doing so on iOS more - I guess it's due to the fact that I handle complicated projects on OS X/ Windows, and iOS in my heart is more about having fun and relaxing than working. Just immerse in apps and read in a Sunday morning with coffee and sun. :)
