Get a room, you make me sick like all the refs of the fan boys who actually like big, greedy corporations.

What Steve fails to tell you is the HTC legend only drops 16 db in signal in it's "death grip".

The iPhone has a 24 db loss in signal. There is no other phone that losses so much signal. ;)

But does it have better reception to begin with? It's not enough to drop calls in a number that is really important or different than other phones.

Who do you see?

I meant you... I mean the phone is nice but that is quite a bit more excitement over a phone than other people have voiced... So unsure. Also the press conference was good news but no true fix just a bandaid. I know from a business stand point probably not possible but a recall over the months with an actual fix would have me happy.

Coould care less about greedy corporations. As long as they keep making this phone and ipads it's all cool they can have my money. I would rather spend it on quality rather than a wanna be with a app store full of Japanese girly calendars.

I just watched Steve jobs speech and thought it was emotional, heart felt, and presented all the data necessary to prove that all the complaining is baseless. He is even giving a free case just to be nice. It is very rare that you have the boss of such a large company handle all the PR for the company. My phone works great it looks awesome, it has awesome apps, I call people all the time and they answer. Facetime kicks arse, and my family loves it. And it takes some damn nice pictures. The only mistake apple made was telling people where the antennae was. Great phone by far the best piece of tech on the market.

i hope that your phone stops working great so that you know what others are experiencing....Caput!

They don't get dropped calls.

And the "death grip" of the HTC legend and all the other phones is a grip that nobody will ever use, unlike the "death grip" of the iPhone. ;)

Before I would of been upset but now it's cool. I would be embarrassed if I were one of the people complaining about nothing.

+1. I could understand the frustration at first, my phone has the issue too, but it's being blown way out of proportion now. I put a case on it and it's done. Should I have to do it? No. Was I gonna do it anyway? Yup. They made some sacrifices when making this phone that they thought would be better for the user overall. By having the antenna on the outside, space is saved inside the phone for a bigger battery (that we love so much) and the slim form factor that most like, aswell as better reception as a whole if your not bridging the antenna. Every rose has it's thorn.

Then go buy a legend I owned 3 android phones and they all were crap. The android market has nothing but big clocks that make no sense when there is already one on there and generic games.

You're a fanboy that buys even defective products from Apple. Good for you.

I'd personally return it if I were you and wait for the iPhone 5 or go back to the iPhone 3GS.

I don't know why I keep coming back go listen to all the BS that people are putting on this forum. SJ is a man that takes the time to address the issues and tries to make the best of a situation. He doesn't hide behind a team of lawyers and PR people like other CEO's. he is willing to talk to the people and try to make them happy. I work in the customer service industry and know how hard it is to make sure that your customers leave on a happy note. Everybody just needs to let up on the guy. We are all human and make mistakes. If we didn't make mistakes then we would never advance as a race.

And in all honesty I challenge people to return there phones and go to other carriers. In the long run it just helps the people willing to stay get better coverage cause the system is all bogged down with people anyways. And AT&T are trying there hardiest to extend there network but it takes time.

In the long run I think we just need to move on and continue to address the important issues like the economy and the fact that we have million of gallons of oil in our ocean right now.

Sent from my iPhone 4 :)

Yeah, he is giving away the $2 (at most) case that he sells for $30, just to be nice. Just like when he told us he loves us so much that built over 300 stores just for us.

business don't measure profits and projections by cost.. they do it by price..

giving away a bumper may only cost them $2 but they are losing $30 in sales each time..

each one they give away is one they could have, and intended to, sold

Apple is the greatest company in the world, and SJ made it that way.

They really are sincere, they srsly try their best to satisfy the customers. Let's not forget though, that they are a company, whom just like any other tries to make money.

Yes $30, for a case is too much.
Yes $749, for a phone is too much.
Yes $2000, is too much for a laptop.

What most people seem to overlook though, is that they built this brand selling 'luxury' items. Items a notch, step up from the regular stuff (although some may not perceive it as such). The exclusivity, that extra mile service, no hassle replacement warranty, and top notch quality all come at a price. Stay with Apple long enough, and these points should be apparent.

oh, and btw, their price for cases, is not different then Honda selling $100 floor mats vs. BMW selling their mats for $180.

I guess it's all perspective.

I saw the video (watched it twice) and saw someone out of breath - semi-annoyed that he even had to be there and a bit condescending. I think at the CORE he was sincere - he wants customers to be happy.

I think his PR team is the one that pushed him in the press conference - because again, he really seemed as if he was justing standing there going through everything to placate.

Sorry to tell you this but my phone is not defective. The only defect is the crying complaining gene that seems to run in people . I never owned a 3GS or 3G or any other iPhone.

What you saw was a plea by a guy that is losing millions by having to replace defective phones and who lost 30 million in one day in stock market plus the millions he is losing replacing phones.

Heartfelt? More like trying to flame the fire and ache in his ass where his wallet is. iPhone is a great device but for a company that charges way more than anybody else for their products, they screwed the pooch on this one. But, they do have the best support of anybody else selling cell phones.

Apple will make it back by charging $25 extra for the next iPhone - which by the way will go back to having lousy reception for everyone thanks to you nerd ragers. So while me and 99.45% were finally getting better reception in places where I used to get lousy coverage, we'll go back to status quo just so the vocal nerd minority can get their way.

Congratulations.

Keep telling yourself that. I'm sure you somehow ended up with a revised model.

Honestly CNN is a hell of a lot more credible then you are.

Sure they are but when they are saying that it's a phone that can't make calls they loose credibility if people are making calls with it and only .55 percent have a problem
