I have the RebelSerpent, and I never realized how much bulk it added to my phone. (Til a friend showed me a different case on his phone..)

I love how the phone feels protected with the added bulk, but I think I'm going to get the iSkin Solo. It's either that one, or the Griffin Reveal.

(Oh, and my RebelSerpent is sagging at the bottom- it's a bit annoying.)

The problem with the Griffin Reveal is that the bezel is exposed. Which brings me back to the 3GS (which I probably will not upgrade to). Why the hell did not Apple replace the cheap-looking, scratch-prone, chrome-plated bezel? Something in anodized charcoal black would have looked very classy and would not be so scratch-prone.

You're right, which is why I'm leaning towards the iSkin, I don't really care to see the bezel. :)

I had a few iPod cases a while back from iSkin but I hated the huge amount of bulk that it adds to the iPod. This is why I haven't bought one for my 3G. I had the Incase Slider, which covered the bezel, but scratched the everliving crap out of it. I had that phone replaced due to cracks and I have kept my 'new' 3G naked with a PowerSupport Crystal. There are no scratches on it... yet

Probably going to pull the trigger on this product but to ease my concerns will someone confirm that this...

1. protects the phone fairly well
2. does not scratch the phone
3. does not add too much bulk (I would prefer one that is very very thin)
4. easily slide in and out of my pocket
5. doesn't look too silly (I'm a 25 year old male and I'm not trying to make any sort of fashion statement)

I realize most of these questions have been answered in some sort or fashion, but if someone could ease my mind I would greatly appreciate it!

My iPhone 3G S is currently in a slider, but the cases really did a number on my iPhone 3G. The back has quite deep scratches in several places, the buttons have noticeable scuff marks from sliding it in-out of the case, and there are also some deep scratches on the side.

In general, while I love the feel of the slider in my hand, it's a flawed design for those interested in keeping their phone in pristine condition. I think I'm going to feel a lot better with a semi-soft plastic case that has a soft interior to protect from scratches, but still feels similar to a hard case on the outside.

This is not to say however that the Incase Slider is not perfect for the person who does not remove their case often.

Like me for example, I have removed it maybe three times and the phone is still in perfect condition.

I have more cases than I care to admit, the Iskin Solo is my favorite of all of them. It's light, not bulky, it fits over my front and back best skin ever and it's glossy without getting loaded with scratches.

Excellent excellent case.....The Iskin Solo cases are the top dog IMO. My Incase Slider, Capsule Rebel, Capsule Neo, Griffin IClear, you name it, they all sit on a shelf now.

How about donating one to me?

i have a screen protector on my iphone 3g s, i bought a incase slider, but everytime i put it on, it causes air bubbles in the screen protector. will this case do that same?

Not at all, the Iskin Solo has a nice flat lip that will cover over the screen protector just a bit, instead of push on it like the Slider does. This case rests over top.

I really think this case is the best out there.

Donate?

hehe Well, I will sell a Matte Black Slider like new and 2 rebels (funky bottoms) for 17.00. I gave a few of them away to the guy who bought my 3G when I upgraded to 3GS.

I'm going to grab another Iskin Solo, I love this case. The fact that it fits perfectly with a fully skinned phone is just what I have been looking for.

Put the slider on first, then install a screen protector. The slider is really finicky about SP's. but once you have it installed how the slider wants it you should not have issues with other cases either.

i have one unfortunately i need mine replaced, when i opened it there two air bubble on the silicone on the bottom left.

but all in all, awesome case, doesnt scratch at all. But i'd say for guys, red is the non-girly colour in my opinion...especially when u have a white iPhone to go along with it like me

I just got my regular blue Solo in the main a couple of days ago. I like it, but it's kind of purple-ish in a way. But it is still blue. I just wish I could see the Apple logo through the back, maybe I should've went with an FX.

That's odd.. the pics I've seen of the blue, does have the Apple logo showing through the back (although faintly.) And the blue, did look blue. Can you post pics?

Also, does anyone know if the bottom of the iSkin Solo/FX will start to sag after a while?

No it won't. I have had mine for months and have taken it on and off, it still doesn't sag. Once the case is on, push up a bit with your thumbs on the back of the case, this brings the top flap down a bit more and makes the bottom pull up nicely. It is just as taught as the day I got it.

I had the blue. In the right light it did show the logo, slightly. I got rid of it because it did often appear more purple than blue, and because it's a darker color it showed dust and fingerprints. I ended up with the FX orange (which is just too bright on my white phone) and now the blue FX (breeze), which is just about perfect.

i just cant find a perfect iskin SOLO FX case...i returned mine today for an exchange and my 2nd one i noticed 2 black dots inside the material of the case.

I know its little but i dont care. These guys are charging 40-45 CAD for a silicone/plastic case. Honestly, iSkin needs some better quality control.

If they charged under 25 like most silicone cases, i wouldnt mind. iSkin SOLO FX are pretty pricey for the TYPE of case you get. If u charge premium price, make sure the quality is nice...TIME to return this 2nd one again...

Got my white Solo today, not exactly what I expected. It's better than what I had though.

just go the black yesterday, so far so good! Minimal bulk, and it looks good, very subtle. I had the grey/green candyshell speck, while that does offer more protection, it was way bulkier, and I ended up not liking the color very much.
