So is ProClip the best alternative until the TomTom kit comes out (I like that one is all in one).

And I see on the ProClip website that you can order one for an iPhone 4 with a Bumper or without .. does that mean if I get the one for the Bumper that I can't use it if I ever remove the Bumper?

I picked up a macally mgrip, which is kinda adjustable, seems to be ok so far.

I believe I'll be picking up the one that uses the lighter adapter to hold the phone. I'll do a review if I do get the item. Option two is to get the 15'' flexible steel gooseneck that attaches to seatbelt bolt.

Ordered an Arkon 15'' Steel Gooseneck carmount that bolts onto a seatbelt bolt or any floor bolt.

I'll be doing a review on it once it comes in :)

i know there is currently a topic but does anyone know of one that i could purchase that would fit an iphone 4 with a bumper case?

this one works, not a costom made for iphone4, but fits iphone 4 with the bumper case (adjustable cradle).

I recently got www.goilevel.com 16" stand. Works perfect in the car if you have a place where you can clamp. It comes with a universal holder which is made by arkon. Definitely like the arkon holder more than the bracketrons.

I just installed an Arkon phone holder in my car. It was $15 and it is working out great. I attached it to an L bracket with bolts and attached it all to my CD player area. The holder fits the iPhone 4 great, even with a case. Also, I bought the generic cell phone holder from Arkon, not the iphone specific one.

Kind of bulky looking for the car itself, but I love the concept of it on a work desk or anywhere that it can clip on.

How tight is the grip on that thing? Cos with no other support, the phone could come sliding out if you take a hard corner or go over a speedbump fast, etc

Not sure about that one, but the Arkon universal pictured below it secures VERY tightly...and they look pretty similar. With the Arkon, once the sides are pinched against the phone, you can't wiggle it free easily. It has an unlocking switch that snaps the arms open again for easy removal of the phone. I'd imagine this one has the same thing, it's a pretty common design.

I've been using the Arkon universal mount for a week or so now. That sucker doesn't budge regardless of my driving.

Just get the one from monoprice - it's the exact same product sold as bracketron at best buy.

http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10840&cs_id=1084001&p_id=5272&seq=1&format=2

$3

I bought the bracketron for my gf before i knew monoprice had the unbranded version, it was $20 - it's the same product to my eyes. Actually the bracketron comes with less, it only has the vent mount, not the windshield mount.

I bought that one - suction cup assembly broke during the first week of use when I left it attached to a windshield on a hot day in FL.

They may seem tackey, but I really want a good quality 12v cigarette lighter mount.
Did you end up finding one? I'd love this style as well, not interested in a permanent mount. We have an XM Sky Dock in our other car and I would love to get something similar, but don't need satellite radio in my van. So far this is the only one I can find:

It looks odd to me though?! There must be a joint/hinge behind the phone, otherwise it would be parallel with the ceiling when it's plugged in

Does anyone have a mount they can recommend that can plug into a 12v powerpoint?

Think I'm gonna order that one from Monoprice today, along with THIS and THIS.

How do you/your GF like the Bracketon? Does it hold the phone firmly in place? Are you able to rotate into Landscape mode?

Unfortunately, no. I've seen that one as well, Arkon offers one similar (if not the same thing) EDIT: I just now saw that it IS the Arkon one.. The only one that looks like what I want is this:

http://tiny.cc/hl01x

But reading reviews of it on Amazon, people say it is very easily broken if you aren't careful when adjusting it, the clamps eventually wear out within weeks, and that the entire piece will tend to sag if the lighter socket isn't tight enough.

I'm considering getting the ProClip for my car and just dealing with the slightly longer reach to it. My only requirements really are that it's landscape viewable and easy to remove with one hand in case I need to hold it while driving for whatever reason.

EDIT: FWIW, I'm highly considering the ProClip Center Mount designed for my car with the Tilt Swivel. I only ask that if anyone has the Tilt Swivel for iPhone with original case, is it easy to remove with one hand? The description says "Easily slide your device in/out of the holder. No more fumbling around for your device," but I question just how accurate that is. If it's easy enough to do to the point where you can do it while still driving and paying attention to the road, then I will be spending the ~$75 to order and have it shipped.

there are 2 rubber pads sticked on the grip, I believe they are made by silicone rubber, hardness is around 60 degree shore A, phone will be very steady.

I bought a Clingo universal hands-free mount. Couldn't find very many reviews on it but it looked promising and I figured someone had to bite the bullet. It'll be replacing a crappy Kensington that broke after less than a year of gentle use.

Yeah, I've heard that about the Kensington too, unfortunately. I emailed mobiledriven.com about the Arkon they had in stock and it does have a ball-type joint on it (like a rearview mirror). I decided to just buy another SkyDock for now though (used from ebay). I know it will work with a case and it charges while docked without having to use a separate cord....I already have a large console and don't want a bunch of extra "clutter" to get it to work. I'd have considered the more permanent proclip setup if the device holder was adjustable to use with/without a case (I'll probably use a case other than the bumper eventually).

Got my eBay mount in and it's pretty much exactly what i wanted. I sanded down the corners so it wouldn't peel up my wrapsol and it fits perfectly.

I ordered the ProClip for my car August 5th (around midnight). Hopefully I'll receive it sometime next week. Pictures and a review coming then.

I just received an e-mail from CarComm who informed me that they are wrapping up their development on their iPhone 4 cradle. Right now it is designed for use without a case. I inquired about the possibility of a Bumper compatible cradle given the antenna issue and they said they would investigate it and consider an additional model.

Does that attach to a mount they sell or is it an all-in-one type of cradle?
