I ordered mine Friday afternoon and it still at Processing Order but I do have an estimated date of Oct 27-29 with expedited delivery to Missouri. Wondering if anyone who ordered Friday has seen an update from Processing.

hey guys this thing is awesome, my novebench was 1515, and on the back of the recent geek bench results, its pretty clear this thing will perform well

the screen is ridiculous...looking back at old posts with screen caps of the old hd screen everything looks fuzzy and crappy haha, the text and pictures are just amazing on this thing, if you're on the fence go check one out at the store, it'll blow your socks off

it is better than retina macbook pro ?

So far no screen defects/smudges/yellow zones/etc.....[/url]

Glad to heard the screen has some better QC this time around even though its still manufactured by LG.

Have you used the "Yellow Tint Test" website to test uniformity between the top and bottom? Also, how uniform is the back lighting with a solid background, gray or light gray usually shows the dreaded smudge/blotchiness LED panels are susceptible to, known as Dirty Screen Effect, or DSE. Thanks.

Don't subject him to this torture!

LOL!

You're right!!

I wish I could un-see what I've seen on my 2013 27" iMac!

I can't look at another LED screen the same ever again. I was even bitching to my wife about the LG TV in our hotel room when we went on a little weekend getaway. It had DSE and Banding galore!

Glad to see the first orders are being delivered today. Mine is on the plane from Shanghai and should arrive in Memphis tonight. I'm not holding much hope to get it tomorrow in LA, but I'll still clean up my desk tonight

not to give you false hope, but i bet you will get it tomorrow. if its in TN now it will fly to LA overnight and be ready in the morning, it might miss the morning run so you might want to hold it for pick up like i did, i p/u in marina del ray, not sure if they have one closer to you to make it worth it.

It'll land in Memphis at 11pm local time (9pm PST). I wish I could have it held for pickup (there's a Fedex shop next to where I work) but so far, the option is not available on the tracking (it's greyed out).

UPS told me that the shipments coming out of China go all air, so once they actually move out of China, it should be pretty quick. In the meantime, instead of being on the "slow boat to China", it is on the stuck airplane "from China". Mental note never to accept Apple standard shipping again.

Here in Switzerland I couldn't change the shipping option. I had to accept standard shipping.

Man I'm still on the fence for getting one. I have a 2010 i3 27" iMac that serves me fine. I don't necessary need the performance, but would like to have the screen. So it would be $2500 basically for a screen. I guess I need to see it in store to see if its worth the $$$ for the upgrade.

The display is fantastic!

It is fast as well ... attached is a DiskSpeedTest for the 1TB SSD

Capacity: 1 TB (1,000,555,581,440 bytes)
Model: APPLE SSD SM1024F
Revision: UXM6JA1Q

I'm not impressed at all. it looks like the SSD is connected using only 2 PCI lanes instead of 4. I expected to see numbers as high as 1000+ MB/Sec

are you kidding me? any SSD with read/writes over 300mbs are just fine and fast enough already...let's keep it this way and make them perfect instead of more performance and not liable

I ordered an imac with maxed out pecs except for ram and hard drive. Also ordered ipad air 2, so i can use my ood ipad air as music player for my audi q5 hybrid. Both ordered together on the 18th, ipad air 2 is already scheduled for pick up from a closeby apple store on Friday 24th. imac status as preparing for shipping. Im hoping to get them both on Friday.

definitely not kidding at all. head over to the Mac Pro forums. I have an Apple/SAMSUNG PCIe SSD (capacity 1.0 TB) in my 2009 Mac Pro and I'm getting up to 1200MB/Sec. I ordered a maxed out iMac Retina and I think that it costs serious money. for this amount of money I expected the SSD to be connected using four PCIe lanes... there's NO technical reason to only use two lanes!

Just a bit of insight into m295x: played a bit of wow, maxed settings (except AA cuz don't need at such high resolutions):

2560x1440 am getting around 50 fps

Full 5k: get about 18fps. Almost sorta playable. OMG looks sharp enough to cut, but I think I'll stick to 2560x1440.

Tried ESO, but installer is running into an error. Going to try GW2 next...

All of this is on OS X. (I have a dedicated gaming PC that's great, so this is more experimental than anything else, as I don't intend to *usually* play games on my iMac)

you didn't get my point. i mean you will never notice an SSD w/r 700mbs and one with r/w1000....only when you are copy paste large files etc..i prefer to be more lasting than more performant.. i think 700mbs is the sweet spot

Yeah ... I expected a bit more since it is the same SSD as the late 2013 Mac Pro. Since I had just loaded it up when I ran the test, it may have been doing a Spotlight index or something too. I will have to check it again after it has a chance to settle in. Maybe someone else will post their results for comparison too. My Mac Pro runs faster as well with a RAID-0 SSD of M4s on a Tempo Pro card.
