I returned 2 iPhone 6 Plus today.

Once apps get optimized for the 6+ and developers take advantage of the screen real estate you'll be wishing you kept them. Until then, enjoy your 6.

You'll be wanting to downgrade in a year or pray Apple does something about the massive bezels on the 6+ with the 6s... Meantime the 6 is the way to go for a normal person

6+ users aren't normal? You guys are tripping me out here at Macrumors these days. Wow.

Read the thread and didn't see this addressed. WHY did you have to wait in line for 6 hours if you were just doing a return?! That's ridiculous.

The Apple Store in Manhattan Beach is a POS and had one person scanning checkout for the entire line for over 3 hours!!!!

If you want a 6 or 6+ and expect every app to be near perfect. You should wait until at least a few months before buying.

99% of apps do not support the screen size properly yet. Also, in your image the cursor is visible so unless you are using a keyboard of course you'll have the on screen keyboard.

return policy is only two weeks.

It's amusing really. It's been interesting to see some folks here get a taste of the mockery and blatant exaggerations that's been thrown at phablet-lovers for years now.

Anyway, I'm sure many who jumped the gun were never phablet enthusiasts in the first place but somehow thought they would become so overnight. As a result there's a flood of threads talking about returning their 6 Plus when they were never the target market for the Plus to begin with. Apple clearly wanted to sway those who would have switched over to Android had there not been a phablet option within the iOS ecosystem.

A fellow SouthBay-er! I'm at South Redondo Beach.

That Apple Store is so tiny and they hardly have any accessories. Though, I like that it's there since it's so close and convenient.

Yeah, so? The keyboard takes up space. It's even worse on pretty much every other device.

Not in portrait mode. You can see more of the conversation. Even portrait mode on the 6. So I'll give the OP that.

You keep saying this same crap in every thread. Let me know when these developers you are talking about make the size of the phone smaller. 6+ was terrible to use. I exchanged it after a day.

Just because you couldn't handle the 6 Plus doesn't make it a bad phone. I love mine, and couldn't drop down to a 6, let alone back to the 5s at this point. Personal preference is not analogous to the relative merit of a specific model as a whole.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried...

Well I returned my 6, for a 6+ and I don't think I'll ever go back to a smaller screen lol

Give it a few days until the things your used to doing one handed aren't possible and you start getting seriously annoyed. ;)

Yep.. Normal person that moves around and has a job.. Guess you don't fit the bill then

An intelligent person realizes everyone is different, uses their phone in different ways, and has different needs. They don't see differences as abnormalities. Guess you don't fit the bill.

i can confirm it works good in other mode. But still, it should be working by default and i find this to be a huge minus :apple:

Have you not been an early adopter of technology? Seems like apple has a little problems every release.

Well guys I finally did it. I had to wait in line for 6 hours but it was completely worth getting rid of those abominations. Why? Because EVERY app places the guide buttons on the top and the button of the screen. And with the 6 Plus it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach the top buttons without

A) Shimming the phone in your hand = inconvenient, carpel tunnel, and high chance of dropping

B) Using accessibly mode = inconvenient.

Furthermore:

C) Heavy and weight is spread out around the entire device (unlike the 4S) so holding it vertical is also fatiguing on your hand muscles.

D) Landscape mode sucks.

We were shown this:

and we got this:

Seriously, 25% of the screen is used to display text in landscape. It's basically unusable.

E) Accelerometer is too sensitive. I'd find myself accidentally switching to widescreen mode on the home screen way too often.

For you guys wondering about my specs, I am 6'2 with slightly longer than average aka "piano player" fingers. I'd wager only Shaq and a few other NBA players can hold a 6 Plus comfortably without ANY sacrifices.

Cliff Notes:

Pros: Great battery life, awesome screen [reading], good camera

Cons: Unusable with one-hand; software is lacking.

You realize with the Zoom option on, you get that screen area back and the keyboard becomes bigger, right. Plus that double arrow thing right above the word September allows you to use all the screen above the keyboard for the note or text or whatever. it hides the note list or the contact list, etc....

I am still going back and forth with Zoomed and not Zoomed to decide which I like more. I like the larger keyboard but not sure if I like the rotating homescreen. The homescreen won't rotate either in the Zoomed mode. Using the Zoom mode makes it act just like your iPhone 5/5S did.

As for the rest, I use my iPad rMini in one hand a lot so using the 6+ in one hand, not that bad. I am not talking about fully functional one hand, I just mean hold it in one hand or lay it down and use one hand to navigate. Sometimes I just use my thumb while holding it to scroll through webpages or emails. Typing, for the most part no. I would have to have the phone laying on top of my fingers while my thumb types. Ok, if you are sitting down or not in an area you are going to drop your phone. But then again if I am typing on it, typically it is in two handed mode anyway.

I am a 5' 10" male.

I think he means the average person or the majority will go with the iP6, while the rest may go for the larger screen in the 6+ for the larger screen and OIS.

I like both phones and see merit for both. I think the 6 is great for a smartphone that you will bring everywhere and do not need to worry about will it fit here or there or should I switch to an iPod Nano or something for the gym, etc.... Those of us, me included, with the 6+ will figure it out. I've had mine with me each day since Friday with no complaints. Love the size of the screen. Still use my old iPhone 5 or iPod Nano for my runs versus taking my 6+ at the moment. Waiting to find a holster case I like before I do.

It even has a Bodyglove Satin case on it at the moment, which adds bulk but doesn't feel too bad. I definitely feel more secure holding it versus when it was naked.

I came from a oneplus one if you ever heard of it, so my annoyances were with a 4.7in screen.

So there were 1500 Asian scalpers ahead of you in line?
6 tried cutting in front of me but we kicked them out. Another 10 or so got in line head of me. I was number ~40ish to buy the 6+ on launch day so the other 1490 scalpers were behind me.

I also returned 2 16GB iPhone 6+ phones today. But thats because I bought 2 64GB iPhone 6+'s instead :D! This phone rocks everyone! Do not be discouraged. I COULD NOT IMAGINE GOING TO ANYTHING SMALLER. Once you go Plus, you won't go back!

I'm so excited for mine to show up tomorrow. I finally had the chance to hold one at an Apple Store and couldn't believe how amazing it was. So excited. :)

:apple:

Patiently waiting for mine to come in on Friday. I've gotten the chance to try out my wife's 6 and I've decided the 6+ is definitely the way to go. Go big or go home

Jk.. The 6 is a nice upgrade tot he 5/5S but after playing with the 6, I think the upgrade in size is minimal and that's why I can't wait any longer for my 6+ to show up.
