Question out of curiosity, would you rather go for an iPhone 11 at 128gb/256gb or go to an iPhone 11 Pro at 64gb instead?

My choice was to go for an iPhone 11 128gb instead of going for a an iPhone 11 Pro 64gb (I would have been concern about the storage beside my usage is to stay at 30-40gb max) or an iPhone 11 Pro 256gb that I returned because price difference with my iPhone 11 128gb didn't give me any extra really.

64GB isn’t enough storage for me. I would get 256 for me.

Price wise (from iPhone 11 64gb to iPhone 11 Pro 256gb):

iPhone 11 64gb: £729 => + £50 => iPhone 11 128gb: £779 => + £100 => iPhone 11 256gb: £879 => + £170 => iPhone 11 Pro 64gb: £1,049 => +£150 => iPhone 11 Pro 256gb:£1,199

Looking at the price I believe that some people were wondering if purchasing the iPhone 11 128gb or 256gb or the iPhone 11 Pro 64gb as the gap is not so huge. But in one hand you win on the storage and and the other hand you win on the pocketable size, build quality, Oled screen (if you like it), battery life (a bit).

I don’t know. If you guys are easily satisfied with the 11 then just buy an XR for 599$ US. The colors are better and bolder on the XR series. The battery life is the same. And the A12 Bionic will be a good performer and supported for years to come.

With the price difference being so small between the two, it’s worth getting the 11 for the additional camera bump IMO.

the price difference between the 11 128gb/256gb and iPhone 11 Pro 64gb is not so huge too.

As soon as you up the gb on the smaller models of course but that’s not really fair as those wanting higher storage are doing so because of the storage. The 64GB vs the 64GB is £270 which is significant.

They are some deals here in the UK (and will be around Black Friday too) where some shops do a discount of £100 against the iPhone 11/11 Pro... so really the question of choosing between the 11 / 11 Pro with those discounts could make sense.

You went from OLED back to years old LCD technology? Good for you.

When reading this kind of thread... I am not so sure the iPhone 11 pro OLED screen pleases and satisfies everyone.

Not saying one or the other technology is better but when you're using your iPhone 11 you just enjoy the screen as it is a very good LCD screen. I completely forgot my previous iPhone 11 Pro screen to be honest.

That extra $100 is going to get you a significantly better camera, though.

LCD is far inferior to OLED whether you accept that fact or not.

Careful, putting together a post that shows a well thought out, rational thought can be trouble around here lol. All hail the OLED screen and the kings whom rise to its defense!

No offence, but this argument is a bit dim :D... As this is absolutely not the point. OLED is FAR FAR BETTER than LCD, alright... I agree. :) BUT.... I don't mind at all if OLED is technically superior to LCD or not, I mind about my usages and so far I know my iPhone 11 screen match 100% my expectations based on my usages. I don't miss at all the OLED panel from the iPhone 11 Pro that I have returned.

It all depends what you are using it for. If you’re not watching films and needing the deep black movie experience then you’re not going to give a toss if the LCD screen on your iPhone is slightly less vibrant. You’re also not going to care unless you’re directly comparing side by side the difference between the two types of technology.

Exactly. I don't get where people feel compelled to keep making that same argument.

Yes, OLED is technically a better screen. But for a large percentage of users, it's not enough of a difference to warrant the price difference or their preference...and that's OK!

And as some have pointed out, many Apple users downplayed OLED when Samsung was first to market with it.

Just like many TV owners are fine without OLED screen. Just like people buy cars with different option packages. It's all about what's important to that consumer. It's not an indictment of someone else's choice.

iPhone 11 is in some ways a downgrade, non-OLED screen for example.. even the X has an OLED screen.

Its funny that you brought up Samsung and them being first with OLED haha, I used to have that exact phone. The Behold II with it’s amazing 480x320 pentile display. Great colors but the entire phone, terrible... It had a wonderful bug in it that destroyed your microSD cards.

Anyway, I still have no idea why Pro and Pro Max owners are absolutely terrified of the regular 11. It’s an absolute bargain!

Yes, we all know it has LCD and that there’s one less camera. What is does do though, it still has Night Mode, Deep Fusion, the A13 Bionic, and 4GB of RAM. The list goes on and on.

The iPhone 11 has many of the same features that the Pro/Pro Max has but simply less expensive package. The iPhone 11 is a consumer level device, Apple’s bread and butter... What’s wrong with that?

Do think it bothers me day to day that my iPhone 8+ has a technically inferior screen to the current OLED models? Of course it doesn’t and that’s because the screen is good enough. People aren’t directly comparing and sucked in to paying the premium when the reality is Apple sell devices with very good LCD screens. I know a few people who have gone from the iPhone X to the iPhone 11 when upgrading and not been bothered. So why are you so bothered and others not?
