I was so excited to get the 11 pro. I was upgrading from an XR and really wanted the extra camera lens, the amazingly reviewed OLED and the 25g less weight.

however, once receiving the phone I just didn’t get on with the display. It seems muddy and yellowish to me. The fade in and fade out time for bright and low light seemed slow. I was underwhelmed.

now I have the 11 I can’t be happier. The screen seems sharper and more white. Perhaps its a taste thing but I like it so much better. I do miss the telephoto lens but will just learn to stand back and digital zoom like I did with the XR. The less weight I don’t feel much, the size seems largely the same (the screen is bigger on the 11), the alu vs steel sides are not an issue as I use a case and the battery seems largely the same. The fast 20w charger provided with the 11 pro is worth having, but I have many 10w iPad chargers around the house and they are almost as fast.

I say if you don’t mind the extra money and love the oled, the 11 pro is worth it, but for me I like the 11 better and its cheaper ....

Glad you like your new 11.

I finally went the Apple store and compared to 11, 11 Pro and Max side by side. The 11 screen was better than I imagined. I put all three at full brightness and the Pro and Max were brighter but it wasn’t a significant difference. I was having issues trying to see the pixels on the 11 with the 820p display. For $699, that phone is DEFINITELY a winner! Wow. I was impressed. I was so close to trading in my X for the 11 but jailbreak is important to me. Oddly enough, the Pro and Max screens were slightly yellow compared to the 11 all white display. I made sure True Tone was off on all three.

all adjustable if you know how

If you want to be on top of the food chain and want the latest and greatest you need to have 3 cameras on the back
I thought you were being sarcastic at first, but you’re actually serious about this? You may have the best phone, but if you go back home to your parents house and own a 16 year old economy car then you’re just “faking the funk” as they say. If you have the best phone and a 6 figure job with a big house then by all means, live your best life.

Exactly, my boss is one of the wealthiest men in the Netherlands yet uses an iPhone X. It’s sad when youngsters here think a phone gives them instant status and Starbucks fame if it’s the most expensive that brand offers. In my circles most of my friends and associates aren’t sporting iPhone 11 Pro’s despite being easily able to afford them, that’s not how life works.

A Rolex is something that not everyone can own. Someone who makes $300 per week can finance an iPhone. Having something doesn’t mean you can afford it. I am not wealthy and I am definitely not a show off. A phone is only a status symbol in third world countries. When a McDonald’s fry cook can buy a top of the line phone, it loses all status it may have had. No shame in it, but I can’t say I would want anything to do with someone who was enamored by a phone. A Bentley GT? Yeah, I would drool over one of those if I saw it at a stop light. iPhone pro? LOL

I know a few lads who work on our factory floor who drive 2002/3 cars but have very expensive mobile phones. It’s all achievable with credit cards these days or living status.

It’s also how you spend in other areas. Instead of going out every weekend or 2-3 Hoilday’s a year many like to just spend it on tech gadgets. Just because you can afford the latest iphone, watch, ipad e.t.c doesn’t mean you are loaded after all just means you choose to spend things in different ways.

Right! Unless if it is build with gold or diamond a Smartphone is not a luxury object but an electronic device that last not really long over time.

Exactly, we all spend our money differently. I don’t go out every weekend as I can’t with two children but I’d rather spend more money on a car or go on as many holidays as I can a year. Phones aren’t as interesting as they used to be to me during the tech race a few years ago and having the latest and greatest is no longer a priority.

What does annoy me on here is the viewpoint that those people who don’t buy the latest and greatest are somehow not as in to tech as those that do or not as tech savvy. What utter bollocks. People just need to remember that phone choice is not indicative of a users ability or wealth level.

Agreed, people at work think I’m loaded as i have the latest iphone, watch, ipad and drive a Mercedes. Not really the case i just don’t go spending huge money on other things. I like my tech and thats my hobby. Some peoples hobbies are going on weekends away every month or going out drinking/meals out but for my wife and I we are very much happy relaxing at home. When she isn’t around a Saturday night watching football/NBA is far more exciting for me....

if the older apple devices weren’t still so good I’m sure people like yourself might find the need to upgrade but the older devices still work so well.

I will be getting my wife the series 3 for her birthday and i know that will still work great for her for many years...just like those on the iPhone 8/8 plus or older are still going strong. That’s more a credit to apple making products last longer than it is about the person who decides to stick with older devices.

Most people that point and shoot would still use 2 times or wide angle, I mean its right there in the screen under your nose to hit lol. No need to be a pro photographer to make use of that, actually helps the average joe get a better photo.
11 is about 70% as good as 11pro, price reflects it too.

I am very much into photography and shoot Leica.

Still “only” got the 11 because of PWM, colours and because the cameras are good enough. When you have enough light, photography has very little to do with the camera you are using anyway. I am happy about the advances in the dark like night mode, though.

Those who think that the iPhone is a status symbol in the U.S. have forgotten that we live in 2019 now, this isn’t the original iPhone in 2007 people.

Snap lol c class here.

Too poor or not worthy by some of the people’s standards here to own a current iPhone though :p
