Yes that right!

They did this on purpose . You are the lucky winner!

Because when I print out the invoice it says charge to the visa ending in ******

So what up with that

Listen, just do whatever you are going to do. You aren't going to justify stealing to most of the people on here, least of all me. Not that you should care, its just the internet right?

FYI !!!!! How I'm stealing I didn't ship the computer they did ... They had my credit info

Don't call apple, if they want your money they will take it, so why waste your time and effort over something like this which isn't your fault. Enjoy your macbook pro!

You must be 12 years old, or at least your acting like one. It does not matter if it was a mistake or not, as others have stated your are obligated, by law, to honor your purchase (you entered into one when you clicked Buy).

I used to work for Dell, and trust me they will notice. If you ignore it, they will find out, and will come after you. Unless you would enjoy having your credit rating ruined, I would suggest you do the right thing.

This happened to me. The money adjusted a week or so later. Did you buy over the weekend? I think it's what happens with electronic banking over weekends...

Come after him? Think not

So Dell would do something crazy like that?

Must remember never to buy anything from them. :D

Thanks

Either your bank is full of crap or you are making all this up. When you ordered your laptop you agree to allow them to charge your card. They can charge your card anytime they want to (and they will, trust me) because they already have your permission to do so.

Yeah, I had a restaurant (really crappy one) that didn't take their money out until at least 3 months later (lucky for them I actually pay attention to my finances and didn't consider that my money anymore so I hadn't spent it). I had paid with a Visa/Debit card (paid like a Visa but came out of my bank account). I mean they physically swiped my card but the merchant still has to "settle" the bills for the day with the credit company before it goes through. Apparently they were slack about hitting that settlement button (used to work for a small business so kinda had an idea how that works) on their machine.

They went under (totally not surprised, bad food, bad service, apparently slackers about collecting their money, and apparently according to the people who moved into their spot they had problems with showing up during their hours and drugs).

Think not. LOL

They would send him a bill. If he doesn't pay it will go to collections. They would eventually get a judgement against him. That $2000 computer would end up costing him thousands more in interest and collection fees. Not to mention how much it would cost him in the long run by higher interest rates on any loans he took out.

So yes, they would go after him just as any other business would.

This whole thing is pointless anyway. In a matter of days Apple will charge him for it. Its silly to think that they would forget or overlook it.

Yeah me too. Took the kids to Chuck E Cheese and bought pizza and tokens. $40 bucks or something. The pre-auth fell off, the actual charge didn't come through for three weeks.

Its no different than writing a check. Usually the payee has 90 days to cash the check. But just because they didn't cash the check yet doesn't mean they wont.

Yes right. It's just a silly thread.

The charge will happen. He can count on it.

An adjustment.

And another thing, that I overlooked. If he doesn't have the funds in the account when the adjustment oocurs he will be charged penalties, AND then they will come after him. That guy in the thread above is correct.

He's ***** :D

Dude, I would just walk away from this thread cause people are just going to demonize you further. Good luck with the computer.

(But I wouldn't spend that money for a little while, just in case)

Let's just hope Apple isn't as slack as that restaurant. Cause I could see how some one might give up on waiting on the charge to show up by three months later (it never occurred to me to call and bug the restaurant, I just assumed one day it would show up though I was kind of annoyed they took so long to clear it. If it had been a 1000 + computer it might have occurred to me though just cause it bugs me to have something not reconciled yet, especially something that expensive).

I hadn't been billed for my laptop due to arrive tomorrow (methinks), since I paid by debit expected the money to be instantly out of my account but 2 things suggest otherwise:

1) When I purchase apps for my iPad, apple tend to charge me up to a couple of weeks later, I've never had it promptly.
2) When I called Apple asking what would happen (as nothing had been taken out), they mentioned this occurs after (no specific timeline) the macbook has been passed to the couriers.

I'd expect Apple will take the money out in the next month, don't treat it like it's not gone otherwise you could screw up your finances out of simple greed. What should you do? Leave it alone and if nothing has happened within a month of ordering, contact Apple and sort this out.
