I went caseless for a couple of weeks, but finally decided that the 'cool' look wasn't worth it because the phone just didn't feel right in my hand. I'm presently using a gray 'frogz'. It may not look 'cool', but it works & fits the hand perfectly. The phone is a tool, isn't it?

If you are 110% sure you will never drop your phone and/or don't care about the screen cracking go for it. The point of preventing damage to a phone you will replace in 1-2 years is that in those 1-2 years you can sell that phone and use the money to buy a new phone.

same here, didnt feel right with those edges. I prefer the feel in a bumper.

Amen to that, i'm the same way since June 24th. Honestly with an iPhone 4 if you put a screen protector on it you completely ruin the retina display, might as well have a 3G the screen looks horrible.

LOL! What are you talking about? I applied the InvisibleShield screen protector on my iPhone 4 yesterday and you can barely tell it has a screen protector on. The display is still amazingly vivid just as it would be without a screen protector.

To all those people who are afraid to drop their phones: do you all have butterfingers or seriously sweaty palms? Do phones jump out of your hands? I'm being totally serious.
i've dropped my previous iphone so many times, even on concrete, i've lost count. usually when getting out of my car and it's in my pocket. just with the way i'm sitting, it slips out like hot butter. or often slips out of my man purse (it's european) when held to the side or upside down.

so, my all glass iphone goes into a rubber case.

Squaretrade + caseless. I'll just use the $50 i saved by not buying one to use on the deductible or whatever. Looks way nicer naked anyways.

I don't put anything on ANY of my other electronics either, so I'm probably a bit biased though

I've decided to go caseless with my replaced unit. I figured that when the glass breaks, it will break no matter which case you've got. :)

I don't think all cases are created equal in terms of the protection they offer.

I have a speck case, looks good, and I bet I could drop this thing pretty damn hard without breaking it (not willing to try it out on purpose haha). Ironically its the same price as an apple bumper but looks better (than the bumper, not naked phone) and offers much more protection.

Also, it gives the 30 pin connector more wiggle room so my 3rd party car charger doesn't slip out of it all the time. The unobstructed volume/vibrate buttons are nice as well.

Finally, the hole around the secondary (noise canceling) microphone is much bigger on this case than with the bumper, and I have to imagine impedes it less.

All in all, im pretty happy with it and feel much safer. Dropped it a couple times (once from about 3 feet straight onto marble) and so far, so good.

I put a Best Skins ever on the back, a Power Support on the front, and have it inside a CandyShell case from the first day I buy the phone. Sure it costs a little to get that stuff but I only hold onto the phone for exactly one year and then sell it on Craigslist for a great price and buy the new one.

For me knowing that there won't be a single scratch on it, plus the added benefit of better reception and better grip make having a case a win-win situation for me.

It's not the route for everyone, but since I like the perk of having a new phone every year I choose to do it this way.

This is my second week with the naked iPhone.

I already posted my case. It's a leather case when it's in my pocket. Otherwise, when it's in my hand, it's naked.

It is my weapon of glass and steel. It makes me feel powerful.

I will never put it in a cheap rubber case.

No way.

iPhone 4 rules! :apple::apple:

Woz goes caseless, I go caseless

Powersupport anti-glare and Piel Frama iMagnum case for me....clipped to my belt. Yep, that's right, that's how I roll, hate having phones in my pocket.

Had a case on every phone I've owned since the mid-90s, no way I'm going to change that for a £600 iPhone.

Just got my free Apple bumper after a week of "naked" usage. The grip is *so* much better with the bumper (both in hands and when on surface), but the look of it is much, much worse.

Still in two minds whether I'll keep the bumper on or not. Need some more time.

And btw are your bumper fitting slightly loose on the top of the phone as well? Kinda annoying for perfectionists.

see all those scratches? thats the bumper gate! - it doesn't look as bad on the picture as it actually is.
I have used my bumper from day one, and its just getting worse. I'm going commando (so to speak).

I'd be very interested to hear what an Apple genius/CS staff would tell you.

i'll try to take a better picture so you guys can get a better feel of it. (it was taken with a HTC Desire)

There's no need to go to an Apple store - despite their physical absence the Danish customer service will take (usually extremely good) care of your case.

Just phone (45) 70 10 20 07.

Do you have personal experience with them?
Where did you find the phone number? It's not the same as "apple Denmark" in my phonebook

zagg is the way to go !

I had Zagg and it seemed alright at first, but it quickly became garbage, edges collected dust/dirt, it looks like crap (orange peel) and has a terrible rubber feel to the screen.

I pulled it off the minute my Power Support Crystal arrived and I must say, how Zagg is even in business given how amazing the PS is, I don't know

99% of people that hold my phone have no idea it even has a screen protector, I get told "what if the screen gets scratched" constantly lol. Next to an iP4 without a protector, the 2 screens look identical
