Saying that, I'm 17, so I can't really question age vs iPhone.

when was the last time the leafs outplayed the sens?
;)

Gee, I can't remember :p

Sens FTW

If the Sens are so good, then why do they have zeros on their uniform's shoulders? It's almost as if they're advertising their suckiness :D:D:D:D:D

im 14 and i have an iPhone 3G. i use it for everything it can do. Yet, i work hard during the summer listing things for sale for my parents ebay store. also, i must get good grades in order to get anything. oh yea, and i sold my old phones on ebay.

edit: i have had a phone since i was 7, because i use to have a nanny watch over me, and when i would go to friends houses or outside, my parents would contact me. of course i didnt have nice phones until i actually worked.

my phone for about 4 years: nextel i1000 plus - look it up.

previous phones i have worked for: razr v3. razr v3t, razr v3xx, Cingular 8125, razr 2 v9, iPhone 3G. when i am done with them, i do not throw them a side. i sell them. i also take good care of my phones and have never extensively dropped my phones. i know i seem spoiled, and i can say that i am, but i also work for my things.

You've had a new phone every 6 months since you were 11?

I wish i had parents like that when i was growing up...oh wait i don't.

You know why? Because it made me learn the value of money, the value of capital that goes into everything, and the value of everything you own.

If you're given everything you want, or spoiled, or anything of that nature as a child, you won't know what everything TRULY costs. I'm sure there are exceptions out there, there always are. I'm just saying.

I wouldn't start working a "real" job until you're 16 or older and no longer require a work permit. Besides, once you start working, in practicality, you never stop, so enjoy the flexibility you have now. If you want to save up some money, I would take some of the suggestions from the other posters and start your own business, work from home, or do odd jobs. These will be much easier on your schedule and pocketbook as you can work on your own schedule and will not be taxed. You will also have more say in the work done, and have a far more enjoyable time than working at a grocery store or fast food restaurant.

I'm 16, this is my 5th phone since I was about 13 and I got everything I wanted up until I got a job. Now I pay for just about everything except my phone bill and some other little things. I still know the value that goes into everything though, and understand how to use money wisely.

Sigh, I wish I had parents like that

Wasn't give my first cell until college which I bought myself with loan money

Or maybe it's your bad attitude that makes them feel sick.

It's not my fault that I'm on a family plan where my parents pay the bill. And I meant that I didn't need to work right now because I'm too young, have savings and other accounts already, and haven't even started high school yet. Sorry if not needing to work for everything offends you!

What attitude?

I had the iPhone when I was your age, and I was on a family plan, but I still paid (and still do pay) the extra cost for internet and everything that my parents wouldn't have paid for before. I don't even have a real job, but I still make money doing other stuff. What's stopping you?

I wasn't necessarily calling you out, like i said, there are exceptions to what i did say. I know that there are younger kids then me that are more mature (I'm only 21) but then again, most of the younger kids that i've seen purchasing iphones for themselves are just in it for status. So usually it's really rare to find someone very young to have the rationale that an iPhone is more than a toy.

I'm 16, pay for my own iPhone as well. Had about 2 iPhones, 8GB 2G and my current 16GB Black. Had about 10 phones altogether ever. Yes some kids are in the phone game for the status, me well I actually use my phone, like surfing the net, calling and just well using it, not flashing it around like I want it stolen. As a kid, having no features like sending files via bluetooth and no MMS, doesn't matter to me, I'd never use it(plus No decent bluetooth means I dont have to send annoying people songs when they see it on my phone :D). Had a N95, had all the features, tom tom, everything, but yet, after that week period where you are constantly using the phone, it just wasn't living up to expectations and I quickly changed from that to a iPhone and haven't looked back since. Even had a lil arguement with a friend from school my old iPhone vs. N95 8GB, and yes he has more features, but for pure UI, usability and style of the iPhone, it won hands down.

Would I have any other phone that the iPhone, probably not, mainly because Apple have such a different style of phones physically and how it is marketed e.g. I was able to upgrade only 4-5 months into my contract for my new iPhone.

Any kid on here who is under the age of 15 and has an iPhone, may I please have the names and phone numbers of your parents. I would REALLY (or should I say realy?) love to have some choice words with them.

My nephew is 15. My brother, well... Lets just say that he came into money. To be blunt, my brother and his wife have millions (although it was at the loss of his wife's family so it is a tragedy) so it's not that he couldn't afford to buy my nephew an iPhone. So why doesn't my 15 year old nephew have an iPhone? For the simple fact that he simply does not need it. It's like a 19 year old kid who I used to work with (at a restaurant, he was a busser) who had a Blackberry. He only had the one job, so what was the point of the Blackberry? My whole point is this... No kid needs an iPhone. They want one simply because they think its cool and because every spoiled little brat has one.

Kids, my message to you is this:
Wait for the finer things in life. If you get them at such a young age you'll develop into a spoiled a$$hole with a silver spoon in their mouth and you will never appreciate the finer things that do come around. If you truly do want an iPhone so bad, go around cutting lawns and work your a$$ off for one. That way, when you do finally get it you will be proud of it.

God, the world we live in makes me sick sometimes.
Stupid 16 year old kids riding around in Mercedes. It's sad!

That's because, somehow, at the age of 15 or 16 years old you managed to pay for a $400 cell phone at FULL PRICE. You don't truly think that if Apple comes out with another iPhone next year that you're gonna get the discounted price, do you?

To DPBida:

Your message sure doesn't pertain to me. I am 16 and have an iPhone. Just because I only have one job and am still in high school doesn't mean I don't need an iPhone. I actually know about the phone and try to take advantage of all of it's features and didn't buy it just for a cool factor. I chose it over other phones for SEVERAL reasons and I have reasons why I upgraded instead of saying "I dont know".

And I don't really get how you say if kids get nice things at a young age they won't appreciate the finer things in life. I appreciate everything I have and even though I have alot of what I want right now, I know I'm not ALWAYS going to have/get what I want, simply because as you get older the more responsibility you have and the more sacrafices you have to make.

You really can't speak for ALL young kids because there are plenty young kids that deserve those nice cars and nice phones. However, it is true that alot of kids don't work for what they get and it will affect them in the long run, but you can't speak for everyone.

Again, you really can't speak for every kid.

All I have to say is welcome to the 21st century. Some kids/teens actually do use an iPhone for more than just a phone or iPod. Yes it is ridiculous that my 9-year-old sister's friend has an iPhone and is the same age as she is. But I don't think it is ridiculous for teens to have one if their parents agree to pay for it or give them the responsibility to pay for it themselves.

Well if you ask me you could be 60 and have all the money in the world but that certainly doesn't mean you need an iPhone or that you "deserve" a nice car, etc.

Here's how it works: If you want an iPhone then go buy one; that's what everyone else does I'm quite sure. Now, it seems like what you're looking for is job advice. Firstly, that's irrelevant in this forum. Secondly, I simply can't comprehend how it makes sense to get a low paying start up job and then blow all your money on a high-end mostly luxury featured device. You can do what you want, but here's my take. An iPhone isn't actually really useful for much; it's just a neat conglomerate of features everyone at any age could live without. If I was your age and was saving up for something it would probably be a guitar or paint brushes or something else that enabled me to experiment with ****. I mean, you have a ton of free time now, why waste it making petty cash just to pay for an iPhone when you can be developing your skills and talents for the future. Plus, with everyone being so materialistic these days you're probably going to want a car in 3 years. Are you going to visit a BMW forum and ask them how to pay for that too?

That is so absolutely ridiculous

And what a sick and unfortunate world we are living in today!
(not just saying that based on our discussion. I'm more referring to the world as a whole... U.S. at war, economy is bad, crime rates are higher than ever etc)

Thank you. THIS is what I'm talking about. If someone tries to sit here and explain to me why a 9 year old deserves or even NEEDS an iPhone... Well, there isn't much I can do but I certainly would bitch-smack them if I was sitting next to them.

Is it truely neccessary to actually have so much hatred for someone who ends up getting an iphone? Sure, a child getting such a device might be a bit overkill. But just imagining someone smacking a 9 year old child just because they have an iphone, now that there is ridiculous.

Especially considering only the parents are to blame.

I'm not telling anyone I would smack them AND I understand the need for 16 year-old's to have cellphones so parents can reach their children and in case they are ever in trouble

I get that

But a 9-year-old? I mean, who the hell is she going to be calling?
