I bought a Spigen 2 pack and neither one went on well. One had dust already on the screen and the other had really bad bubbles.

Any tips for installation

Steam up a bathroom first, lowers the chance of dust on the screen. If you have the kit that comes with the install tray make sure it's snapped on the phone correctly. I started with the to of the screen and tried to make sure the speaker opening was centered.

The $16.95 3D and the $9.95 2.5d unavaiable are the old versions with full adhesive.

The $12.95 3D and $9.95 in stock 2.5d XS models don’t.

I don’t know what they are doing for the Max.

I think I remember before that people said the $7.95 X version without an install tray wouldn’t work with an install tray. Some of those are still in stock.

I'm a little confused - I want full adhesive (I didn't even see a $12.95 3D option) so I think this is the one I want:

Also, I saw two options, the above "dual defense" version and a non dual defense version. I guess the dual defense version looked a little better?

Is the one I linked the better of the two options, and can someone confirm that one in the link is a full adhesive version?

Is this $16.95 one just a repackaged version of the one I got, or an actual different one?

They bumped the price up this week from $12.95 to $16.95.

The linked version is the new Not full adhesive version.

The old version at $16.95 is full adhesive and I bought it this weeks. Works perfectly on the XS.

I think the confusion is about the XS Max. The Max version is full adhesive but the new 2.5d and 3D XS models are not full adhesive

These sp’s With black frames Are nice, but my previous experiences indicate that there isn’t much adhesive in the black parts of the screen protector leading to dust and things getting trapped under there.

Taking these types of sp’s off after awhile shows dust around where the black frame of the sp is.

This still the case with these newer ones?

So I guess to summarize, at least for the non-max X/XS, the "dual defense" version is the new, not full adhesive version, while the non dual defense version is the old one which has full adhesive?

EDIT: Also how did you determine one model has full adhesive and one doesn't?

There are trade-offs to any type of SP you use. For me, the look of the E2E ones is so much better and cleaner than the non E2E ones, that it is worth whatever dust may be accumulating along the underside edges.

24 hours after I received and applied, I had a minor benign drop and glass protector cracked.

This is after I cracked a Tethys within 2-3 days.

Anyone know if there’s a warranty? I bought from amazon and yes I have the second one still to apply but this is ridiculous

Fell 3’ onto a gravel driveway. Where I’ve dropped my old 7 plus getting out of my car multiple times before.

Fell on the glass but I was shocked it cracked.

Am certain the phones glass would have been fine but obviously no way to prove.

Point is I’ve dropped old phones with much greater concern and they ended up being totally fine. Not this case

Think of it like this: you paid $8.50 to know for sure that your phones screen isn't cracked.

I bought both in the last week. The non full adhesive lifted with an Apple silicone case

Ha yes I know. Just saying after 24 hours I thought they’d be more durable

What does the time matter? Doesn’t matter if it is 5 minutes or 5 months. You drop on the screen and it will break. I have had phone screens break from “benign” drops. Much rather have a protector, which isn’t going to be as strong as the phone glass anyways, take the hit.

Had my icarez for 4 days now. Love it.

& Icarez could reply with "after 24 hours, we thought you'd be more careful". :D

You've just proven why you bought a screen protector. Who knows if the actual screen would've cracked sans protector. The point is that it was prevented from at least scratching due to the screen protector you purchased.

You've got a second one. Put it to use & be a bit more careful. ;)
