iPhone 13 iCloud almost full warning forces me to switch to Samsung later

If on, turn off iMessage in iCloud. I turned mine off after seeing it was extremely bloated, without any real logical reason for taking 3-4x the space it should.

I don't keep anything but email in my iCloud account. I back up my devices to my local machine and don't keep Photos or anything else in the cloud.

this is more annoying than Android.
Then you have your answer. I always choose the least annoying option without hesitation.

I don't think there is a way to deactive this iCloud almost full warning. It keeps coming up again and again. There is only like 2.5gb left with IOS system backup, I can only keep deleting old big what's app messages and this is more annoying than Android.

S21 FE is only around 460 US dollars in my city now, if big screen version exists for S22 FE with this cheap price range, I will just go back to Android.

I don't buy iCloud storage, I just don't think spending that much money for a phone every year makes sense. Only having like 2gb free for what's app doesn't make sense for me.
And what cloud service are you going to use with that Samsung phone? I’m curious…

If s22 fe has plus big screen version and around half price of coming non pro max, I will try it even if the quality is not as good as Apple lol half price has nothing much to lose anyway lol

Apple could just give us an option to turn off this specific notification.

These tactics greatly impacts user experience and all in the interest of selling more services. FFS, Apple.

Hard disagree. How are you supposed to know if you’re out of storage?

Firstly, you check for yourself if you know you're a heavy user of cloud based storage.

Notify me once, and then give me an option to toggle off and on future notifications for those who need that reminder?

Once you know you are close to being full, you can take the appropriate measures to either buy more storage or delete.
I don't need to be reminded every day.

I'm not sure why you don't just pay the $1 a month for more storage. It's only $12 a year. You can't even get lunch for $12 in some places anymore!

My 4g plan with 120gb, 10k minutes, voice message is just $40 per year, why would I pay 25% of my 4g plan just to backup WhatsApp?

Because they cover different things. DO whatever makes you happy.

Why would I pay $100 for an oil change when my car payment is $300?
Same thing.

If you get your Samsung degoogled that's great otherwise it doesn't make sense to give up privacy for some extra gigabytes of space.

This is a silly way to think about it. Once you're paying the dollar a month you have a lot more storage available. You can switch on iCloud Photos, and use iCloud Drive to store more content. It doesn't have to be just about getting backups to work.

I have more than 200gb in Google photo, that iCloud price is more than a cheap phone per year.

OK and? If you need more storage, it's dirt cheap. If you just want to complain and tell us you're buying Android... why should we care? 50g is (in the US at least) 99 cents per month. Whinging about that and switching platforms to avoid paying it seems... well.. trollish. No one here really cares if you (or I) use ios or moves.

I already said I need bigger screen phone and non pro max will be so expensive, FE Plus would be like half price of it.

You keep making reference to an Android device that isn't even released yet, why?. What's wrong with Realme ? Its even cheaper below $400 for big screen and OLED.

I've never used WhatsApp, but is there a setting to delete messages after a certain period? This could provide an easy storage reduction that operates autonomously. I've hardly been in a situation where I need a text from months/years ago, but that could just be due to limiting important conversations to modes with easier record-keeping.

I think 50gb is not enough for long term lol I only switch to iPhone half year ago and the WhatsApp history size is around 1.8gb for this half year. I didn’t import any history from Android.
This thread is getting interesting albeit a little painful at times also.
