Disappointed to see the mail icon still uses an envelope.

I mean, has anyone under the age of 30 ever even seen an envelope?

What should it be, a stamp as in OS X? Do you have a problem with the phone icon in iOS because it's of an ancient phone?

It's still instantly recognizable as an email app and that's what matters.

Firstly, Apple never used to be this lax with stuff. The fact they haven't got round to getting their 'marketing team' to update the iWork apps is one glaring inconstancy.

I can't answer much to gradients or things like that (I just don't have the eye....so I'm not going to get into the weeds on that), but I would imagine the iWork icons being unchanged has more to do with the fact that, by all accounts, there are new versions of iWork being released this fall and those new icons haven't been previously shown to the public. All of the other icons have been shown numerous times, whether at the WWDC keynote or in the various builds of iOS 7. So far, the new version of iWork has been kept under wraps.

Add in that the iWork site in question is a beta site meant for devs, and I would think that we shouldn't rush too far too judge something for which we don't yet have all of the details.

Oh, I *was* able to get in after all. I didn't think I had access.

The first thing I noticed was there was a due date in reminders, yay! :)

I was a fan of the old calendar look, honestly, but I'm pleasantly surprised by this new design. It is really nice. I just wish they would do drag and span for events that span multiple days. I could get used to this look, though.

It is a nice change. However, what I'm seeing is a big generation gap on the new iOS look. My take is we'll see a touch of the old iOS 6 look in the final release.

I agree that that would be a nice touch but in all honesty I can't fully picture how they would pull something like that off

Yeah I hear you, makes sense. I'm not actually that fussed abut the iWork stuff, but unfortunately the majority of the iOS7 icons make most designers wince, being critical is just what we do. All said, this is probably the wrong place to vent those sorts of frustrations, so I'll stick a sock in it now ;)

Interesting... Mine still looks like the original view (and I do have the iWork beta too).

Nevermind. I figured it out. I didn't go to beta.iCloud.com. I was just at the normal iCloud.com address.

Adjust the green radar color on find my phone. Obviously the iwork icons aren't finished.

I like figural MS Windows icons, if apple could make the square with rounded corners aspect of their icons more transparent, not completely, i think that would be great.

In my opinion the weakest part of iOS 7 is the icons. Some of them are nice but some (like reminders) look really poor.

So probably not the best thing to port over to the website. But from what I've seen the in-app interfaces look better.

The thin text is hard on my eyes to read.

On a phone fine, it's in front of my face, but it's too thin for a desktop imho.

Polarizing

I recall someone at Apple saying that the upcoming changes would be polarizing, and I have to say, that ever since the announcement of iOS7, it's been interesting to see how truly polarizing the new interface has proven to be.

I personally am not a fan of the new "flatter" design. I recall when OSX was first presented by Steve, he showed us Aqua, and proclaimed that the interface would be so beautiful that we would want to lick it.

This new turn in design at Apple doesn't have that effect on me, rather, it makes me feel like the interface is less personal/personable. It seems trendy, and to be change-for-the-sake-of-change. I'm not sure it offers me anything beneficial as a user. In fact, I find the new trend of minimalism and flatness to be more boring and annoying to use.

I was certainly no fan of skeuomorphism. I've been using Mavericks for the past while, and am so happy to see the calendar app back to normal! But life isn't flat. Things have shades and depth, and then I go to use my iPhone with iOS7, and am presented with flat colors and boxes. I still find it usable (and many improvements have been made), but I don't feel like anything of value has been added by these visual changes... I really am dreading the day when my entire desktop OS looks like that. :(

Its new and different. Its better for all users? Its more beautiful? I don't know and that is what bothers me
