Any idea if they plan on remaking the icons for their apps? (iWork, iLife, iBooks and such).

Likely. Just like they will redo the apps themselves.

I personally hope the toolbar from the beta turns up in the Mac version of iWorks if not the iOS version as well (so long as in that version it slides in and out to give us max screen space to work with). It is a major improvement over the current forms

iBooks is fine in general although I could do with a better sorting system for titles, no more separate purchased list and a few tweaks with notes like not requiring them to be attached to a highlight and even being able to link passages in books if not between them.

Omg

THIS IS FUGLY!!!

Carl Icahn will lick his wounds in a year's time when the stock has dropped to below $300. End users will not like this cold, clinical, boring and unimaginative new look. Ive seems to be running amok and is taking the company down. Unbelievable...

It looks egregious just like iOS7!!!
Apple are destined for disaster!

If you're going to use a word such as "egregious", it should at least be used appropriately. I mean, you may say it's appropriate, but I can't find many cases of the word being used in this way.

You might say it is egregious, but please explain in what way it offends what must be your impeccably high standards.

Why not just say "terrible" or "awful"?

Ironically, the original definition of egregious was "remarkably good."

Still need to add iphoto to icould.com and a basic apple drive (iDrive) could care less about the iwork apps since nobody I know uses these. Everyone I know uses office.

They don't need iPhoto so much as the ability to view and delete photo stream items and perhaps syncing of albums when importing whether via photostream or iTunes. And perhaps a single launch page for all public streams and journals.

As for the drive issue. Not that many users actually probably need it so it makes sense they drop it and that small cut of folks can use Dropbox etc

Anyone who thinks iOS 7 looks nice should have migrated to Android a long time ago...

so the animation and color is somehow more unimaginative than the stale dark linen?

Glad to see Calendar events show different colours for events based on which calendar you are using in month view....where it currently just shows grey dots in iOS 7 beta 5

I don't personally understand the need for these web apps. Presumably, I have my iDevice with me at all times. Why would I need to use the web version?

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Before iOS 7 was announced a lot of people were like, iOS has to change. It's been the same for so long. It's so behind blah blah blah.

Apple listens. They change the look, but keep it familiar.

OMG this sucks. I can't believe it.

It's the same whenever any major company changes anything. A la Facebook.

Then people get used to it.

And the whole process is repeated the next time the UI changes.

mac os x

i can't wait for the next version of mac os x to look like this! so so so much better! Mac OS X Yosemite can't get here soon enough.
