I've used Gmail for my entire life but I'm now contemplating using iCloud as I primarily use a Mac & an iPhone, I do actually prefer the stock iOS mail app over Googles but there's no push notifications for Google accounts so that's partially the reason why I'm interested in switching.

I don't remember a time when I've ever had trouble logging into Gmail before, spam filtering in Gmail is awesome too. My questions are how reliable is iCloud mail and how well is Apple's spam filtering?

My work machine uses Windows, I know iCloud mail uses industry standard protocols so I should theoretically be able to use any mail client to access iCloud email, iCloud.com looks a little dated and clunky to me personally. Are there any mail clients that stand out for using iCloud on a Windows PC?

Thanks! 🙂

Based on what I've seen over the last couple of years I'd have to say that iCloud spam filtering isn't as good as Gmail's and the reliability isn't quite as high, either, although it's still very high reliability.
