iCloud+'s New Custom Email Domain Feature Now Available in Beta

Same here. How does Apple verify ownership at that first stage (a whois will only show the ISP as registrar and verify that there is a registrant)? Regardless it happens to me with two different domains registered with two different ISPs....same error as previous post. I did add one initially. Had and still have the too many hops error but haven't (so far) tried removing and readding that one (just in case I can't !)

I called apple support as well. The agent had no information about the beta however, he believed once an email was released there is a cooling off period but then it is released. May be 30 days? Take that for what its worth. I will be having my wife and kids remove the custom domain address from their icloud accounts then try to migrate in 35 days. See what happens. Maybe there will be more info by then

I removed all my custom domains from apple ID (for wife and kids). Then was able to add the domain and create their emails. Was allowed instantly

Did you ever get that? I just got a generic email referring to the custom entry. I cannot get past the verifying emails in icloud.

Two domains, that were both victims of the “too many hops” issue, are now working for me
 
Now I’m getting the “There was a problem adding this domain” error. 😞 if I open devtools and look at the console it shows an error “this account not eligible for custom domains”.
 
Yep error appears so quickly I did wonder whether it was some kind of user auth thing. Guess I'd better keep reminding myself that it IS beta after all :)
BTW my too many hops error is also now resolved. Looks like they fixed that one

Interesting, but are u already running any new beta system? Could imagine that the Apple ID needs to be part of any current beta project.

Problet is: If you had an Apple ID.. and used it with one of the email addresses you want to register now for Custom Domain. But you had deleted this Apple ID - the email still is blocked for use… and as a user there is no way to „remove“ it anywhere.

I got mine up and running however every email from my domain ends up it spam
 
I can finally send emails from my domain account, it showed up in the list of available sender addresses everywhere (beta.icloud.com, Mac mail, iOS mail). Receive always worked for me. So at this point everything works.

I removed mine and changed it to my iCloud address then set my domain up and it’s working.

Yup. Still getting "ErrorThis email is already in use with another Apple ID." :/

Although I've yet to have a confirmation that my Apple ID has been deleted, even though it's been more than a week since I requested it removed. This is an Apple ID I can't even remember registering, and appears to never have been used :(

Any suggestions in which place in the feedback app current issues with „Custom Domain“ should be posted? I can‘t find the right category.

Then you have missed something in the MX record or similar my guess is that you have missed the SPF or similar. Then it's not validated correctly (just easy explaining this) and other are marking it as spam.
 
How the heck can my family members get a email alias from my custom domain? My domain are up and working and I have a custom email for my self but how can I create alias for my family?
They are ofc on iOS 15. and are members in my family.

They need to visit beta.icloud.com themselves and can define their own aliases for your shared domains.

Agree any existing domains that I left on are no longer getting too many hops error... but I can't move my important one back to it getting an error when trying to add the domain.
