Svensven man you need to relax someone buy this character a beer.
Will you try to return the iPad 3 to Apple? It's not unheard of that Apple takes returns for items well over the return period. I once returned a MacBook Pro 13" months (about 3 months) after I purchased it because I complained that I had to strain to see the screen and this gave me a headache (it really did). They happily took it back no further questions asked. It was overall a very pleasant experience. I later went on to buy a 2011 Air 13" a month or so later so I was very grateful for the excellent customer service.
Anyway, will anyone try? Will anyone sell and then buy the refreshed iPad? Will anyone be upset? I'm just curious.
If it's something minor, like the 30 pin is switched out for the Lightning connector, I don't think I'd be terribly upset.
But if it's a major refresh... like IZGO display, thinner, lighter, Lightning connector and maybe better battery... I think I'd be pretty upset I picked up an iPad 3. I know I'll get a lot of "the iPad 3 will still works fine" retorts, but anyone else?
Man, too bad we can't make a wager on this, because I'd bet big money that you'll be eating crow come Tuesday. 9to5mac has a virtual 100% track record with their pre-announcement predictions. Apple will definitely be upgrading the iPad 3 with at least the Lightning connector. Guaranteed. For me, that in itself wouldn't be enough to upgrade, but if they take the opportunity to also throw in an IGZO display, better battery life, and a faster processor (A6X anyone?)...then I probably will upgrade. No, there won't be any updates to the iPad 3. No lightning connector. No spec bump. No anything.
probably get it...
iPad 1 is starting to slow down on me...
Maybe not, but the macbook pro averages at 9-month refreshes and macbook air is the same if you ignore the 499 day outlier. So I don't know why people are finding an 8-month refresh for ipad so hard to believe.
Apple's release schedule as slowed considerably in the last 2 years. But if you check between the 2000-2009 timeframe, Apple has historically updated their hardware lineup twice a year, occasionally more.
Anyways, you're guys talking about computers. This thread is iDevices related, which have always been updated in a 10-14 months frame. Make a $500-$800 device obsolete in 7 months is very f-cked up. Shame on them.
So, in a nutshell, get over yourself.
i don't understand why Apple would refresh anything else besides the connector.. Its not time yet for a ipad 4 and it isn't March yet lol..
save the internal refresh for 2013
I came across a pic of the full size iPad with the lightning connector this morning. I think we will at least seen that. Hoping for a little more processing power and a better battery (no complaints about the current one).
Undecided as yet. Put my iPad 1st gen up for sale. I may go for a refurb 3rd gen with old style dock connector if the new one only has Lightening and nothing else.
You can have mine it will be one sale as refurbished in a week and for 70 bucks less than full price it's a steal.
With MS Windows 8 RT coming out, Google planning on a larger Nexus you have many options in a Post-PC world that Apple was so proud of.
My wife's Nokia Lumia 900 syncs with our MacPro, Macbook Pros, Macbook Airs just fine.
No need to buy only Apple anymore. My Nexus 7" is a great iPad Mini..I only buy kindle books anyway.
Have fun. Price of iPad3 will be dropping fast after 23rd.
There is zero chance of a major iPad refresh. The only rumors have surrounded changing to the new connector.
