I have used older variations of WinPhone/WinMobile and current and previous versions of BlackBerry, Symbian and Android...

I would have to go with Android, strong app market, growing constantly, dev teams working on custom ROMs constantly and some sexy devices, I love my iPhone, but am considering an Android device for my work phone as BlackBerry annoys me and I would like to play with it.

Windows phone. Depending on what the next gen iPhone/OS can bring to the table, I might switch to windows OS. iPhone is becoming to mainstream.

I would think you'd vote for Android then.

I don't know. My first instinct is Blackberry. But I'd feel the need to at least look at what the current Android phones are offering. Fortunately this is not a decision any of us have to make right now :p

That's what I notice about Android users. They love changing their phone as much they love using their phone. Maybe more so.

It's absolutely true... God knows I couldn't STOP messing with my Droid when I had it. While it's fun for awhile, you get to a point where it's irritating not being able to remember where you put an app, how the dialer function works on this particular ROM (which was probably the 9th one loaded in the past two weeks), etc.

I think this is why I'm attracted to WP7. You get a little bit of customization through the live tiles and color changes (more so than iOS anyway), but it's still standard enough that you can be efficient in your use of the phone.

I'd get the Nokia Lumia 900 in a heartbeat if it was (or ever be) available in the states. Yay!

I'm past having to have 200 apps on my phone. I use it for about 3 things: Phone calls (which the iPhone sucks at), music collection, camera and maps. I'm sure Windows/Nokia can nail those for me.

I've got an iPad for proper browsing, gaming and book reading. I don't even try that stuff on the iPhone anymore. Just too painful.

Coming to AT&T in the Summer or Fall. LTE-equipped. Nokia's presence at CES this year was mainly for this phone, in my opinion.

I think a lot of android users are geeks like that. Something new comes out that they have to have.

Apple doesn't have options like that. Storage size and color and even with that I see people switching a lot.

Imagine if a 4s with 4 inch screen came out. You'd see TONS of iPhone users switching up. Then a 4s with 4 inch screen and NFC or something , even more people switching.

For some it's hard to be content with something when there is something else better out there (for them).

I'd say that's got more to do with how they want to be able to configure their tools to their absolute liking instead of using them out of the box. I am like that when it comes to the desktop. I love Linux because it lets me configure it the way I like it to work. Mac OS X, while being robust and user-friendly, has no such flexibility. That's just personal preference though. :)

I'm kinda shocked to see so many votes for Android and the handful of votes for BB. I would've expected different results.

You can't get more anti-iPhone than those two. BB has an awful UI (although I've not seen how the new OS looks like) and its future is questionable. Android, on the other hand, will always suffer from the fragmentation issues and manufacturers who are out of control with their release cycles.

In terms of user experience, WP7 is the closest thing to iPhone you can get. While the UI is radically different, it's just as simple and intuitive to use, has excellent support from Microsoft in terms of updates, bugs fixes etc., and works beautifully. No choppiness in the animations or when switching from app to app, no broken ecosystem, etc.

It also just works™ :p.

No offence, but you sure sound like you just finished reading "Steve Jobs." :)

Tizen will be what you're looking for once it finishes being merged with Bada.

Yeah you really went overboard there.

Meh, I just love the UI on WP. Find it to have the same qualities as the iPhone UI. Cannot say the same for BB and Android.

Sue me. :D

Of course the votes may be skewed because of the fandroid invasion we've had on this board anyway.

I'm ashamed to say I've never even tried another smartphone OS in the time I've had an iPhone (3GS launch). Would have to go for Windows though. From my basic impressions it seems like a nice UI.

No, I agree with you, the UI on WP is quite compelling.

I use them all in a daily basis, but I always keep going back to Windows Phone because it is the most fun to use.

One thing I am learning is WP is NOT supposed to be app-driven like the other two. I synced my Facebook account and everything is there in my People tile. I can even merge profiles if it creates doubles on my contact list and can even not add their FB account into my contacts but still search for them in the directory. The hubs prevents me from opening and closing a separate FB or Twitter app. I just swipe left or right, and all my social media information is there in ONE spot. Much better integration than even iPhone. But the most important to me on why I pick WP over Android isn't just the better UI, but the STABILITY. I tried using my N1 for a day and my launcher has glitches where the apps on my dock would disappear out of the blue. And my launcher is one of the most stable and more minimalistic ones. I also hate the force closes and whatnot.

Windows Phone has never really gave me problems or locked up on me. Even Symbian and BlackBerry OS is known to freeze up where we have to take out the battery from time to time. Imagine once Windows Phone approaches its 3rd - 4th gen of phones? That's when it gets really refined. It is already more stable in the 1st - 2nd gen compared to iOS and Android. People forget that the first two gens of iPhones had its set of problems too and iOS lacked many basic features.

BUT while WP and iOS have more polish, Android still has Matias Duarte. If there is one guy who can make Android more beautiful, it is this guy. The mastermind to webOS. You can even see the cues he took from his webOS and implementing some of it to Ice Cream Sandwich. Android still has a great future looking forward having a talent like him. And being in a FICKLE world we live in, Android will always have some variety. Once you get a WP, it is pretty much the same across the rest of them which means while more stable and less fragmented, it will get redundant too because the experience will still be the same for the OS but only inside a different casing from multiple OEM's.
