Here is my tracking info for the replacement screen they claimed to have "shipped" to me back on 3rd.

Also be sure to document everything, they will certainly lie to paypal when you file the dispute; you'll want to have evidence supporting your claims.

Here's mine! November 18th.

i try to do the conversion by my self, but couldn't do it. The screws are so small and i broke the fry tool :(
then i send email a to ifixdirect five days ago and asked them if they can convert it for me, but they never reply. is anyone know a site that can do conversion?

iresQ would probably do it for you if you have the parts (they've stopped selling conversions). Also, brokemyiphone.com will do it.

lol nov 18th, boy those usps guys are lazy!! they are useless, shame on them for making this company look bad on the shipping side.

LOL ifixdirect mysteriously has enormously high lost package rates with USPS... must just be bad luck

I consider you guys lucky who have even heard back from them. I have tried contacting them for the past week with no response at all. The screen they sent me was defective (touch screen did not work). The first email I sent was replied to fairly quickly, but since then there has been nothing. If I do not hear from them within the next day or so I will file a dispute with my credit card company, file with the BBB, and figure out what my next course of action will be. I hope this thread is a warning to anyone who wants to purchase from iFixDirect to stay far away.

I've never had to file a dispute before. It's either I don't buy enough, or I usually do better research. This time though, I bought based on positive feedback (early) in this thread. The thread title actually changed from "THE WAY TO GO" to "NOT THE WAY TO GO" after I posted a set of pictures of the bull parts they sent me. I actually sent it back to them at a USPS near Walden Galleria when I went stateside for Black Friday shopping. They replied to my email on Dec 10 writing they have received my parts and are working on sending me replacement parts. No word from them since.

I was emailing them about my parts before December 10th and haven't gotten a response. I filed with Google as well as my CC company so we will see what happens.

Mine still looks / works great, and I got it done from iFixDirect. It helps that I am in NYC and can look at all the parts and pick my own before he even put them on. I've had the conversion for a month and I am bringing two of my friends there for conversions as well, because they love my phone. I guess i wouldnt trust the delivery either after hearing all the horror stories but to go to the guys apartment and have him test the parts that i picked out was great customer service. Basically, if you are ever dissatisfied with the parts they will swap them out for you but i understand once again if you are not in the NYC area this could be a hassle. just putting in my two cents.

He runs his service out of his apartment?

I beg all fellow macrumors members who dealt with them before i real life to send a message on our behalf. We need some kind of official update about our orders...

I know my posts in here have been taken with a grain of salt about this situation, but parts coming in now are of OEM quality again.

These are being made by Foxconn again as production has started back up. Now I cannot say if ifixdirect is getting these parts again; but what I can tell you is the new parts coming in ARE original quality again.

I am sure DEEF289(sp?) can confirm this with me. I know he disagreed originally with me but then changed his stance when he saw the same problematic parts coming from China. This is not just some rumor I am throwing around. I would still suggest holding off on parts for about another week or so as it's still a gamble if they have left over inventory of these terrible parts and will try to dump them. Notice the big random drop in price on their white backs.

I am certainly not the foremost expert. But over the last 3-4 weeks I have gotten in 50-60 different white sets all with the same issue with light leakage on the left side front. The problem is that the outer frame on the front glass is NOT oem anymore. Therefore you still get some light leakage. Its not as bad as it was but its still there. Also the front panels have started to increase in price because of the shortage of lcds.

Yeah I noticed the shortage and price as well. News today about Toshiba and Apple spending $1.2 billion on LCD production should help out going forward.

Are you talking about the midframe or the sort of beveled edge you can notice on the white ones?
