I remember seeing this years ago wondering what the +/x was for, obviously this was before I knew what Qi was or how common it would become.

In many ways it makes sense having it in a table lamp because they require X amount of space anyway.

If I didn't already have a lamp, I probably would have considered this but instead opted for a more vertical stand instead.

The Hektar lamp does NOT charge an Apple Watch 3. I tried on several lamps. Damn, Ikea. Damn.

I think you need to blame Apple on this one. While the new phones explicitly state Qi compatibility, as other have stated Qi compatibility is not a feature of the series 3 watch. That's really too bad, maybe series 4. So that must mean the upcoming Apple charge pad is both a Qi compatible charger and a non-Qi Watch charger...

So we agree. The only watch that will make use of Qi is Series 3. It does not mean it is compatible, it means none of the others will at all.

Qi and Wireless Charging are not the same thing. Qi is a subset of wireless charging standards, and the Apple watch 3 is not Qi compatible.

Would these tables be safe if one was to spill a drink on it? Or would we risk electrocution?

The Apple AirPower device will charge the watch, however.

The Belkin boost that Apple stores sell also does NOT charge the watches that Apple sells..

This is for those who underestimate Apple's marketing pull.

Qi charging has existed for years (it's built into my Note5!) but now that Apple puts a phone out with it built in, then people take notice.

Amazing.

They are taking the p*ss out of Apple customers!!!
