I don't necessarily think wearing a mechanical watch or Swiss watch would make it any more boring. I think it's just a matter of not seeing the same thing on your wrist all the time. It's nice having options to appreciate a thing of beauty of a mechanical watch versus a piece of technology on your wrist. Both serve different occasions I have an appreciation for mechanical at times watch over my Apple Watch.

Oh ok. I have an appreciation of Rolodexes. Really can't compare it to contacts on your watch though.

You definitely can't beat the convenience and the ease of having everything at your fingertips with the Apple Watch. From Contacts, to messages, and even a quick glance of the weather is completely convenient.

I think one of the greatest refreshes watchOS 4 could bring, is an array of new Watch faces. The ones they have currently are great, but last year I did not care for numerals or the activity watch face. Some of the complications are just too cluttered and I'm hoping for some more of analog watch faces.

Apple seems to be in an endless cycle of updates. Always changing for the sake of change, without adding anything to the user experience. Hope you get your wish.

If one could put a sim card into the same footprint but with the same battery life I'd be interested. Plus, more options for creating watch faces would be nice.

So, you did not think that WatchOS3 was significant nor that it added anything??

Apple does a lot of refining and security protocols b/w the major updates...so, the updates were just not for the sake of change.

You want major changes with every update? That is just not feasible in any operating system. You want to see a disaster? Go over to Android forum(s) and see what a freaking disaster Android Wear 2.0 is!!

You mean your user experience. I have no issue with updates. I couldn't ask for more to not have my iPhone tethered to me at all times and the fact the Watch does exactly what I need it to. Every update has made the Watch better with performance and battery life. (For most). I have no real complaints with it.

I like everything my watch does from the notifications, to telling me the weather and also, the activity stats.

I hadn't went out walking since May 13 but I went out at midnight to get my 30 minute walk in. Made me feel good and I want to go out walking tonight again when I get home from work.

Bored? Fortunately, I don't depend on my watch for entertainment, so I don't know how it could bore me. Its convenience allows me to do many things that I used to have to drag my iPhone out of my pants pocket (a huge inconvenience in the car) to do. For me, it's a tool. As long as it's useful, I'll never be "bored" with it. I look forward to added features that will make it even more useful.

and when you first use Apple Pay from your watch...that was when i knew that it was a cool device to have! :D

I have a launch day S0 SS 42mm which I've worn pretty much every day, but my use of fitness features has been sporadic until recently when I finally decided to make some changes about myself...and stick to them. I've been playing with the idea of replacing it with a S2 because I don't really like the SS style anymore, as all I use it for is fitness - I don't feel it needs to be as much of a 'showy' piece as it was 2 years ago.

What benefits of the S2 is there apart from water proofing and GPS? Is literally anything else different?

Hmm. I wasn't aware it has a faster processor, not sure how much of a difference that would make. I have always felt like Apple Watch was sluggish, but I thought that was just watchOS.
As WatchOS progresses, my suspicion is that more and more processes will be moved to the watch to make it more independent of the phone. I suggest that if you have the means to get the Series 2, do so. It will be much more viable for future OS updates.

I would wait for Series 3 to be honest. Your S0 will be fine until then. That's my plan...just get out of my way when i pre-order my S3!! :D

I just returned a Gear S3 Frontier since I returned the S8+. That watch is leaps and bounds better than the Apple Watch. In looks, in how it works, I really hope Apple makes the new Watch look more professional looking than the toy it looks like now.

Exactly. Some are bored with the Watch because they are seeking entertainment as you stated. I see the Apple Watch as a means to be assistive in being productive in fitness and convenience me to have a gateway from my iPhone to my Watch for messages and other notifications. Everybody views the Watch differently and everyone uses it differently. It all depends on how the Watch benefits someone.

Eh...

I think the Watch looks a bit fat (although I'll take a fat Watch if it means better battery life), and the digital crown's prominence has always seemed a bit unbecoming to me, but otherwise it looks fine. It's only odd in that it's a squared shape, whereas most watches have traditionally been circular. Whether it's professional in appearance or not has a lot to do with the band that's equipped, in my opinion. The Gear S3 in the photos above reminds me of the watch I used to wear in middle school... I'd wager that, similar to the Watch, whether it looks professional or not has a lot to do with the band that is equipped.

Can't remark on the functioning, as I've never used an S3. But I hope that the changes Apple will invariably make are pleasing to you, and the rest of us too.

I've been making myself use the watch more the past few days: reminders, calendar, voice recorder, a few phone calls inter alia. I've also been going out for more walks and using bluetooth streaming. I'm enjoying it a lot more and using the app to fine tune it. I never knew that I can use a photo as part of a watch face.

I'd forgotten how much juice GPS tracking plus bluetooth streaming uses...I'd gotten used to the watch having around 80% available whenever I checked it (because I was scarcely using it). But a 5 mile walk with music does use a fair chunk of battery.

As said, I'm keeping it and look forward to more watchface options - I think that could be a key area in which the device could be improved.

So your really weren't bored with it. You simply didn't know how to use it.
Oh, I knew how to use it; I simply wasn't for some reason, partly because I'm a big fan of traditional watches but I keep and use those also.

I love the functionality of Apple Pay on it.

A couple of times I've been coming back from the gym or wherever, and think I need to pick something up from the hardware store or grocery store, then remember I don't have my wallet with me! Doh!!

Oh wait ...
