Yeah, I'm starting to get a bit bored ( Steel Series 1, with various bracelets) . Not with the technology itself, but with its look. I just miss good old classy mechanical watches. But then I would miss notifications on my wrist, and I'm addicted to that.

Lately I've started looking into hybrid watches, and getting very tempted by some of them such as the Hugo Boss Smart Classic :

it's mechanical with a small digital screen in the lower part that shows notifications, and various other data. It's compatible iOS. And it's cheaper than an aluminium Apple Watch..

Nope, still wearing my Series 0, and enjoy it quite a bit. The real question, is if you don't wear it for a day or two, do you miss it? I find myself missing lots of little things if I forget to put it on.

The one thing that never seems to get old to me when I'm not wearing my Apple Watch, is the customization of the watch faces. It just gives it a completely different appeal and it refreshens the overall look, coupled with a different watch band which can be easily switched.

I can't imagine getting bored with mine (only 2 or so weeks in). I now get better notifications of calendar/messaging items.

The only time I'm bored is when I wear one of my old mechanicals. The AW is so integrated into my habits, I take it for granted. It is when I'm without it I have that realization.

I like how you worded that. My Apple Watch is the same way. It's soley tethered to my iPhone 7 Plus, where I don't even carry it with me if I don't have too. My Apple Watch suffices for my notifications, which is what I primarily use my Watch for.

I now use mine solely for exercise recording; nothing else about it (notifications, time, reminders inter alia) excites me.

I don't understand how one can get bored with a smart watch, yet not with a regular watch. Sounds more like you just prefer the looks of classic watches and don't need a smart watch. I would sell it while it's still fairly recent (before they release series 3).

This is because a regular watch is really a bit of jewellery that tells the time. I never got the Apple watch but wanted something for activity tracking specifically and bought a Suunto Ambit instead instead, it does the job nicely has GPS built in and a good battery life. I have a couple of classic watches that i wear normally when not exercising.

The ONLY thing i use the watch for is health - if the phone did more i'd happily dump the watch.
The rest of the features on the watch are pretty useless with the exception of unlocking the rMBP.

I'm with you on that, I only use it for the health features, to unlock my mac and to tell time, that's all I want from a watch, the apps are terrible and slow, they are useless.

Many of the Apps could be better BUT there are some GREAT ones! Carrot has GREAT Native Apple Watch Apps and many more. look for the native 3.2 apps!

The watch is ok. But for the price they charge it better do more than be an expensive Fitbit, and notifications device.

I fully concur; to me it's just an exercise device I barely glance at.

Do more? It has more capabilities than most utilize on a daily basis with the Watch. I have never been left 'Wanting more'. What else are you expecting it to do? Not to mention the amount of third party applications that contribute to functionality.

Also, Apple does charge a high dollar, but it's hard to rival the quality of the Apple Watch, at least from the stainless model I Own.

Don't forget that Apple Watch is also backed by superior customer service AND accessories (Apple and 3rd party) that no rival can come close to matching.

Weird how critics criticize Apple Watch for lacking features...yet in the same breath, talk about how a traditional watch is better....

Sorry, for me, a traditional watch with an ordinary mechanical movement is boring as hell because that mechanical movement is usually cheaply made with poor accuracy and require time-consuming costly maintenance. And you know what...that mechanical movement (even the famous ETA 2892) is seen everywhere from cheap to overpriced Swiss!

The only thing that one can make an argument for mechanical watches is IF you own one of the in-house movements with special features (coaxial, Parachrome, etc.)...from Omega 8500 variants, Rolex, AP, Patek, etc..

As for quartz watches, are you kidding me?!

Apple Watch currently (and in future) will be very helpful in making you live a better life. No traditional watch can do that.

You mean in addition to telling time and date?

So, you are complaining that a device that improves your health (!!!), tells time & date, unlocks your computer, and maybe something else you forgot (notifications? weather?) is USELESS.

Boy, tough crowd! What else do you want? For it to wipe your butt for you too? There's an app for that somewhere i am sure!

As I said, I only use mine for health; I rarely even sync it with my phone; when it becomes a paperweight in a couple of years I'll look for whatever else is out there. I'm accustomed to wearing a real watch on my left wrist and the disposable and obsolescent AW on my right.

I'd be happy to lose the screen and for the AW to become just a band with the data then being viewable on the phone or iPad.

So, why not just buy a cheap exercise band made by those Chinese companies on Amazon? Why did you spend your money on Apple Watch? Did you not think things through before buying it?
