No more excessive refreshes on the order status page for me. One day, hopefully soon I will be surprised to find an email for the Apple Store.

Me too. I'm tired or constantly checking my e-mail an checking the Order Status page. I'll just be content if my iMac ships "On or before 10/01". I'm not holding my breath.

Can I have your credit history? Or at least, can you share it? :)

I should have mentioned that the Dualie I got is second hand :) Still, it's in good nick, and cost me about the same as a brand new iMac....

I still believe that Apple is running the iMac through production in huge batches and that the 20" BT is one that has not been run - about the only one from what I can tell.

I get back to thinking that there is a huge demand from resellers and an equally huge pressure to get product to them. The small guys have been hit especially hard for the past 3 months and deliveries will for some make the difference between staying in business or closing the doors. Large distributors and resellers would have very large orders in and will also need to get part of each day's production.

I think Apple is basically making production runs of stock models during the day, throwing in BTOs during part of the day. Since there are no stock models with BT we are at the end of the priority list on 20" models.

Our good news is that there are a LOT of orders for the 20" BT and Apple would have a scheduled day for them to be run, and it's on or before 9/29.

Right now Apple is filling the supply channel as fast and hard as they can. Certainly faster than the G4 iMac when it came out. I personally don't see things changing between now and Christmas, based on the great reviews and high levels of interest in the stores.

We'll get there and probably won't have to wait as long as a lot of people trying to buy in a month or so.

You're gonna hate me

Wow. You guys are gonna hate me. I've been a lurker here for a long time, trying to get insights and things before I purchased a 17' with Superdrive.

Well, I ordered one on the 22nd of Sept. It shipped the VERY SAME DAY.

Since it wasn't BTO, I guess they had one lying around and decided someone should have it.

So if you are thinking about getting a standard model, do it now!

I have a 20" w/ BT that was shipped on 9/20, and according to the FedEx tracking, it looks like it will arrive today or tomorrow. One important note: this 20" was ordered WITH the internal bluetooth module, but NOT with the wireless keyboard and mouse.

I haven't seen anyone who ordered an iMac with the internal bluetooth module AND the wireless keyboard/mouse combo claim that their computer has shipped.

Congrats! Mine is the same so there is hope for me yet.

At least we're not like the guys (and gals) waiting for the PMs for their 30" monitor. There are over 5,000 posts for that one and the GPU maker still isn't delivering!

Europe: That's fast!

Order placed online at Applestore Netherlands 10/21 at 15.00 GMT for a
IMAC20/1.8G5/1GB/160G/SD/Z/N

How about that!

I ordered an internal bluetooth with wireless keyboard and mouse and it shipped on the 21st to the UK.

On Hold!!!!!

Aaaarrrggghhh,

I just checked the status of my delivery, and the message is

"on hold; aircraft/truck failure" :(

AND it is still in Shanghai.

I have come up with a theory that the machines that are delivered fastest are the ones that are check on least (a blatent copy of the watched kettle theory)

So, I will now stop checking the status and let them deliver it.

p.s. Will check back in 5 mins.

Whoooo!!!

My 20" + BT w/ keyboard and mouse has shipped!!! Estimated arrival is Oct. 11 but hopefully it will be here sooner than that!

Placed my order on September 15th, changed the order on the 18th. Had a estimated ship date of October 19th. Build was a 17" 1.8 superdrive w/bluetooth (everything else stock). Just received a shipment email saying it went out today, September 23rd with a estimated delivery of October 11th. Sounds like more and more iMacs with internal bluetooth are heading out the door, maybe they are doing stock built ones with bluetooth first ???

Shipped Today

IMG5 20/1.8/256MB/160GB/SD/BT/WL KBD/MSL

Ordered on 8/31/2004 4:40am PST with OOB 9/29 shipping.
Got my notice this morning that it shipped today. The 'estimated delivery date' from Fedex is October 11th. Hope that's not true!

This is 20" WITH bluetooth keyboard & mouse combo. :)

Now shipping by sea?

With these late shipping dates it almost looks like they have stopped shipping them out by plane, and have started sending them by sea!

I don't know if this can be confirmed/denied, but it is the only explanation that I have.

Gimme your time machine

I think it's pretty damn amazing considering 10/21 is about a month away! :p

Still if you are actively checking your status, via E.Mail & order status page, it's something to help pass the time. If your date of 10/1 is acurate then you just have a little over a week to wait. That should pass by in know time. You should take slow deep breaths to calm and relax you, Your patience will be rewarded.

They have been very conservative on the shipping time and, from what I can tell, people who ordered standard (free) shipping have been getting them as fast as those that paid for 2nd day. I think that it is just the standard computer response for standard shipping and has nothing to do with the fact that it has probably been put on a plane. Apple is getting all orders shipped by air as they want to get them in the hands of very happy users (except 20" BT 250 GB HD users) so they can spread the word.

Held at Sort Facility???

What does Held at Sort Facility mean? That's what my iMac has been doing in Indianapolis since 3:46 am this morning. I suppose it won't stay "held" for too long and it will end up in Des Moines, Iowa on the truck for delivery!!! If someone will help me, I'll post pictures of the computer in all of it's wireless glory tomorrow evening!
