Mine left Subic Bay last Thursday and still hasn't show up at the next place yet.

Watch the website update Monday with 'on truck for delivery'

Wouldn't be surrpised if that happens based on my tracking experiences with FedEx over the weekend.

My shipping invoice said "For orders shipped Monday through Thursday tracking information will
be available on the carrier sites 12 to 24 hours after shipping.
For orders shipped Friday through Sunday tracking information will be
available on the carrier sites by the following Monday evening. " That leads me to believe that on monday we will all get a big update on the shipping status.

not shipped yet

Hello, I've been lurking here for a few weeks, and finally decided to register and participate. I'm also a switcher (well, when my new imac gets here I will be).

It seems that everyone's anxiety and anticipation has gone from watching the Apple order status page to wondering where Fedex is with their package.

I ordered on 8/31 and still haven't received a shipment notice. Apple put the reserve on my credit account last week, but my balance still doesn't reflect the charge.

Here's what I ordered:

IMG5 20/1.8/1GB/160GB/SD/APX/BT/WL KBD/L

Open Est. Ship 09/29/2004

I guess I can't complain because technically Apple still has a few days to live up to their promise, but am I the last one who ordered on 8/31 who hasn't gotten a shipment notice?

As far as switching goes, I'm pretty excited to get a new iMac, but won't be "throwing windows out the window" as some do suggest :) Even though I'm frustrated with Windows and all its associated issues, I still keep it around for gaming and most of all flight simulation. I also have a network file server running Fedora linux, so when my Mac finally gets here, I'll be multi-platform.

Wednesday is looking better all the time. My notification on Friday said FedEx notified and now it has left Subic Bay about 3:45 pm today (Central time) si it should hit the US about 12 hours later in Alaska. Figure Tuesday or Wednesday for delivery.

Jim_, I'm still waiting for mine too. I ordered early on 8/31.

My order is still open and is a very similar configuration to yours. Lets hope we get good news by Tuesday.

Wow, i've seen a ton of switchers in here. That's pretty cool!

Welcome to the most frustrating and difficult experience you will ever have being a mac owner; ie waiting for the thing to ship, and when you're done waiting you wait some more until it finally arrives. I've had my trusty 266mhz for 7 years and it has only crashed... twice? No more than twice, anyway. Both of the crashes were easily handled by re-installing the OS, with no lasting damage to the computer or the files as well! Hahaha.

I'm on pins and needles as well, but i'm going to pick up a case for my new iPod which I will be getting with my computer and UT2004 so I can show it off. :D

as for the waiting -> :(

Every nano-second seems like a minute!

Can anyone give me an estimate of how long it will be till my iMac gets to me in the UK? I had shipping notification first on Saturday morning. Come on guys help me get through this!!! :(

20" 250 BT+KB

I received my notice from apple on the 24th and have been visiting the fedex site every few hours. I haven't seen a lot of activity in the lower area.. It is still as follows:

Sep 26, 2004*10:20 PM At local FedEx facility *SHANGHAI CN*
Sep 24, 2004*9:39 PM Left origin *SHANGHAI CN*
9:26 PM Picked up *SHANGHAI CN*Future delivery requested*
9:06 PM Package data transmitted to FedEx; package not in FedEx possession *

However, I've noticed some changes near the top..
Originally it had IP DISTRIBUTION destination as Anchorage, later it changed to Indianaoplis.

Also, for the past two days the status has said "In Transit". Now it says "At Fedex Destination". Hopefully this means that it is actually in Indianaoplis right now.. Who knows?

btw.. my waybill tracking number is:
671002545251

Still tracking through the storm

First, let me tell those folks, who as I, ordered 8/31...but still haven't heard from Apple. That's tough. Once you get the notice, though, you'll be excited.

Second, I'm running on generator power and have been for the past six hours. The wind is howling, it's rained about 4 inches since mid-afternoon, my dogs are spooked, but we're doing fine. Decided to take advantage of the down time to re-arrange my home entertainment system and my computer set up in anticipation of the new arrival.

However, since 10s of thousands are without power, this means the phone lines will go out soon. So I patched together my old PC, to check one more time.

Fed Ex posted an update! Looks like it's outta China, and has passed thru Subic Bay:

Sep 27, 2004 1:44 AM

In transit

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT PH

Departed location

Since 1:44 a.m. Phillipines times was approximately mid-afternoon EST, this means it's been in the air at least six hours.

I'm looking to a mid-week arrival, provided Fed Ex can drive down our road, which was canopied with Live Oaks this morning, but may be blocked by huge branches or the trees themselves. Will find out in the a.m.

First off, welcome to the obsession.

Secondly, you're not the only one. I ordered IMG5 20/1.8/1GB/250GB/SD/APX/FCE/BT/WL/L at 7:41AM PST on 8/31 and nothing's happened yet. Even more frustrating was all the extras I've ordered with the 'ship complete' button checked have arrived and are scattered across my desk.

OK, uh, that's obsessed ;)

Good luck hope everything stays well for you and your family. When you get back tell me what kind of generator you're using. Been thinking of getting one for the house here in NC because power seems to go out on this coast more than it did when we lived in KS because of weather.

Calling Finrock:

Anyone heard from Finrock lately?

I'm afraid he's deep into that 24-pack, lying on the floor, with downloaded photos of the iMac scattered around the living room. :p

I'm about to join him...damn storm...where's the rum?

This sounds like great news for those like myself and andiepandie whose imacs left subic bay thursday and still apparently haven't touched down in the US. Fingers crossed you're right.

I'm with you all the way rjcarnell. Patience is a very good quality to have, comes in very handy when waiting for the very latest technology.

hahaha, ouch. we're all dying from waiting and poor finrock is holed up in his basement with a hurricane roaring above his head.

kind of puts our situation into perspective. you're tired of waiting? try waiting with a HURRICANE.

ouch.

The big blow

Trekkie:

Current on:
36" TV
Tivo
Stereo System
Well pump
2.4 Ghz phone
Refrigerator/freezer
Lights in LR, BR, Bath, Kitchen
Microwave
This computer, plus DSL modem

Craftsman 3600 Watts continuous 5500 surge, but...

You can't find a generator anywhere in the SE.

If you can, backfeed your house through your dryer plug (240 V) by buying an extra dryer cord and wiring a male plug on the other end (included w/generator). Works like a charm. Run-time: 12 hours on 4 gallons.

Finrock: Cheers, buddy! Scotch is gone, rums running low, but I still have beer!

I notived this very thing on my tracking and was going to post pretty much the same thing. Hopefully it means what Trekkie was saying and that we will get a big update tomorrow and hopefully an on truck for delivery message.

Gatorron, I feel for you guys. Good to know you are okay and you have a generator, those things are better than gold in the SE right now.

My dad, who lives in Jacksonville, said the news reported that utility crews have been requested from as far away as California to assist after Jeanne.

I'm just glad it turn north, I was afraid it might keep coming west.

I just wanted to tell you guys to stay strong. I too was once a constant checker of this forum thread and the Apple site looking to see if my computer had shipped. I'm glad to say that my didn't stop in Subic Bay! But, as I type this from my new 20" iMac with my BT keyboard and mouse I just have to tell you that it is worth the wait! (I understand I'm done waiting and that I don't know what you all are going through) It really is a wonderful computer experience...just something to think about until yours comes from that wonderful FedEx man.

drove to the apple store in menlo park, NJ today and picked up a new 20". I got the last one. Its cool enough...

Wow, seeing all these posts, I feel pretty lucky.

I ordered the 17" 1.8GHz BTO model on the 20th and it said it will ship on or before October 30. I was expecting that because the Canadian website did say 3-4 weeks.

All of a sudden on the 24th, I received an email saying it was shipped. Only problem is that the FexEx page says expected arrival time is October 14, which makes no sence because I paid $45 extra for expidited (4-6 days) delivery. I just hope the expected time is wrong.

Looking at the FedEx tracking page, it looks like they're shipping using FedEx IP Direct Distribution. So for those who are still waiting, it's probably because they haven't received enough orders to fill the shipments. I guess you can find more people to order the same model you've ordered.

Thinking back, it was a pretty close call. I called in on Thursday to upgrade the 80GB HDD to 160GB but I called into the US sales line, whom refused to change it for me. So I decided to call the Canadian line the next day but it was already shipped...close call.

I guess I'll swap in my WD 74GB Raptor into the iMac now. I wonder if the Raptor will overheat in the iMac...

Hopefully by the end of this week for ya
