iMac sept 12 release?

thats right... I think little redesign will be this year and iMac will drop optical mechanic and in 2013 there will be total redesign...
I have same thinking like you... I want some spec of new iMacs and Ma Pros!

I'm pretty sure if everyone stopped buying "new" iMacs it would force them to bring out the update. So stop caving you impatient ba******!

Despite all that was said afterwards to discourage such thinking, this is of course the only way that consumers can put pressure on mac to release something new. Anyone taking the time to arguing otherwise is very likely to have a vested interest.

What??

I own no AAPL stock. I almost bought some in 1997, but my friend talked me out of it.

I'm not saying that waiting isn't the right move for most individuals. I'm saying that waiting or buying is not influencing Apple's release schedule in any way. They will give us the new model when it's ready; not before, and not after.

They will give us the new model when it's ready; not before, and not after.

How idealistic of you to think that. What you are saying is "product cycles have nothing to do with demand". That's just silly. Maybe they use demand forecasts well in advance, but as new data becomes available they will update strategies accordingly.

If they were using the available data to prepare a launch, we would have seen new models in May...

I'm not saying demand is the ONLY factor, I'm saying that demand IS a factor. I actually think we agree, we're just trying our hardest not to.

Sort of. Because of the length of time it takes to design the product, prototype it, test, procure parts, etc. etc. I believe the expected demand has a much higher influence than the actual in terms of releasing the very next model; actual will be fed into the roadmap and may impact the 2nd or 3rd next generation coming.

I do not believe that Apple is delaying the 2012 iMac because they want to; I believe they were left with little choice, and altering the 2011 sales numbers isn't going to accomplish anything in terms of getting a 2012 iMac released.

I've convinced myself that there will be a completely new iMac design announced in September 2012. Ivy Bridge, 27" & 32" panels c/o Sharp (3840 x 2160; 140 ppi), 512 Gb SSD, no optical drive. (There will be a new Mac in 2013, not a new iMac but a Mac Pro.)

I've convinced myself. Please, no one harsh my buzz.

I agree with you my friend I don't care what people said. Stuff like "there's no graphics that supports that" idc. Apple its apple there's nothing they can't do. The only thing that I really don't know its the release date things seem to be pointing more to October but I want it to be tomorrow but I know that's not gonna happen. But I really hope sooner that later. But there's not a single doubt in my mind is that there will be a new design. I really really believe that.

Why leave the horizontal resolution just short of Digital Cinema 4K?

Wait so how many people actually believe they will drop the 21" iMac o_O I find it really hard to believe that apple will do such a thing. What are the possible combos of screen we might see? If they do bring a 32" would it be possible they drop the 27" and bring back the 24"? Personally I don't think they will drop the 21" though. Also me personally am going for a 27" as a 32" would be nice but doubt it will fit comfortably on my desk.

It doesn't make sense to me to have a separate event after Sept 12, and if there *is* a new design, they are going to want to showcase it. Maybe it ships in late September, but they announce on Sept 12.

(Like I said, don't harsh my buzz.)

Check out the rumor on page 5 of this forum. New 27" and 32" design, HDMI port comes back, etc.

Maybe a 24" retina iMac and a 32" TB display. I think they will keep the 21.5" as well.

32" + internals would weigh as much as a Pro... too much computer!

YES optical drive!

Maybe it won't be 4k but push the resulusion a little bit further enough to make it look better and since we sit far away from desktops anyways so. Idk we would have to wait and see like I said apple could make anything Happen. Let's hope it does happens.

You keep saying "Apple can make anything happen." The trouble with that philosophy is that you can not only set yourself up for disappointment when the the reality doesn't meet your expectations, but also it will be "Apple's fault" because they could have given you what you wanted, but chose not to.

In reality, Apple are constrained by a number of factors: the laws of physics and the capabilities of their component suppliers to name but two and hardly mentioning the need to make money.

I have not noticed that article before. THAT is interesting. I believe more and more that we will soon see redesigned slicker iMac with 32". Sounds tasty :D

They can go as big as they want, but I really hope they still have something smaller than 27". I'd be very happy with the current base model's 21.5", or perhaps 24". 27" is already too big for me.

with 32" they could probably fit a desktop GPU in there. Then we can get some serious hardware :D. Though I doubt it will happen.

I love iMacs just like the next guy but for those that are hating on iPhone rumors you do realize if it wasn't for iPhone apple would be out of business
