I can live with that, imo Apple died even under Jobs when they sold out 100% to the iToys.

Back then though there was at least hope - many saw it coming and wondered if the company would split into two divisions. Too late now and God I wish it had.

But the real problem that I CAN'T live with is where to go? Still can't countenance Windows/PC as I've been using Macs since 1985. OSX is nose-diving, no pro machines, not even a bone thrown.....no easy answers.

PowerPC(You'd have to use old apps though)?

So so so disappointing, they seem to not care about the computers part of apple anymore.

What are you talking about? They updated the whole portable line back in July + introduced all new retina model. It's now turn for desktops, just chill.

Jeez you're overreacting.

Apple Store Shipping Times

I just put together a quick BTO 27" iMac and the shipping time is 2 - 4 Business days... No real delay.. :(

I wonder if I should just say screw it and get this old version and be happy then sell it in 3 years before applecare runs out?

Well,i understand why there wasn't any trace of Imac-mini there, the Iphone its so boring that anything beside would have stolen all the attention..even a normal ..but not so easy to do for Cook's crew apparently..spec bump.
The only good thing is that now Iphone4S has a lower price.
Really boring.

I'm going to keep my eyes and ears open for info until the educational promo runs out on the 21st. If there's stronger info on an iMac coming in the next month, I'll try and make arrangements so I have something to use until then, but I do need a computer asap. If nothing confirmed by then, hello Macbook Air!

I'd settle for a spec bump, but surely such a long wait is for a bigger release? No? If they do something like they did with the MBP and release a Retina iMac alongside spec-bumped non-retinas, I'll definitely go for non-retina. All I'm wanting is Ivy-Bridge and faster ram.

I've got the MBA in my basket. Next move is yours, Apple. ;)

October really is crunch time. Seriously now, if it doesn't arrive by the end of October and there is no strong rumours of an imminent release then I'm jumping, I don't know if I'll buy an old iMac or possibly (less likely) go for an alternative all in one system but I can't wait into Winter and next year, I've been waiting since May, I needed it in May.

What will you do if it's not here in October?

There has been tons of rumors the past three weeks surrounding the iMacs Idk what you're talking about fox news even said there are imminent there's nothing basically on amazon, other resellers and even apple stores so there definitely tons of rumors. The thing is that people are specting an iMac part leaks and that's not going to happen because they are just simply big parts and none can easily snap a picture or take it somewhere without Someone noticing. So we just need to chill out and relax and wait that's the least we can do. So what am I gonna do? I'm gonna get an 2012 iMac on October. We have to look at the bright side guys

Thats exactly what i am thinking. Maybe i will get a refurbished one, but thats unlikely...

That is where I am leaning right this minute.....however when I look online it shows a 1-2 week wait to get the one I want...at that point I might as well wait and see. :(:confused:

well at least we got the iphone show out of the way. After a week of release nonsense maybe someone at Apple can take a look in the closet and see if the old imac can get addressed.

Can't you order the refurb and then cancel before the order arrives if you hear anything more like facts than rumours?

I just added a couple of features to the iMac and it only added a couple of days to the shipping which is what it has been for a couple of months. I dont expect we will see much change with the stock levels as we didnt with the retina MBP release.

Why is that, the after the summer keynote is been always for iPods/Music. Never for Macs if IRC correctly.

The current iMac design were released in October 2009, wait one more month...

498 days without upgrade...it's...it's...it's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

It's aaaa probably coming next month... hang tight. :)

Wouldn't doubt it with the way the stock is of iMacs in Apple stores, a new refresh has to come in the fall... guaranteed.

There will be a new 2012 iMac... give it a couple months. More sure of this than the new iPad Mini rumor. I think both are being launched soon, and the iMac is a sure bet for this fall while the iPad Mini could debut next month along with it, but who knows.

Smartest thing for Apple to do is - get these iPad Mini's out before the holidays come around in 2012. Then next spring, release the next iPad with all the new bells n' whistles to attract the consumer once again. Apple will have something new that is portable for the 2012 holiday shopper, trust me...

No matter what, I would bet we'll hear about new iMacs in Oct or Nov this year to get back to the ? at hand.

If the imac was released today it would be completely misplaced among the other updates. I was all iOS and all about the pods. An iMac release today would have given them more media news on "what a mixed bag of updates" instead of "it´s a new iphone!".

the new iphone looks nice, I´m gonna buy one just to have something to fiddle with until the iMac gets released. But we knew everything about the iphone, so I hope the rumor mill will quickly turn focus back on what really matters :) , the iMac.

I've been waiting since February. I decided it was time to retire my '05 Mac pro (with non-intel processor) for a shiny new iMac. Realized Ivy was coming out in April/May. Waited a couple months. Then waited another couple months for WWDC. then waited until today. I'm giving it one more month... and then...

This is annoying and to top it off I can't buy any of their new iToys as my PPC is no longer supported. So I have to wait for the new iMac before I can think of upgrading my iPhone so I can sync my music, not good enough Tim!

Technically that would be a G5 PowerMac and I'm in the same boat. I have an early 2005 model G5 PM, stuck on Leopard and with my 3Gs for the time being.
