iMac shipping times

Yessir, mine changed to "Preparing for Shipment" this morning around 11am, then changed to "Shipped" this evening at about 6. Right then, FedEx reported it as "picked up" but it has since changed to picked up in my province (Ontario) at the reported time of 2:45pm. It shipped from Cali. Seems like Apple is a bit behind on updating their order status. FedEx says delivery Monday, Apple still says the old days (8-11).

Side note, anyone know if there's a way I can ask FedEx to deliver on the weekend, or pick up my package at a local location before they attempt a delivery Monday?
As of 8:25 CDT, my 27" BTO is now in Chicago!! Oh please let it be on a truck to Titletown USA tonight. I'd love to have it to play around with all weekend rather than wait until next Monday.
I can only hope I have a similar story.
With regards to the weekend pickup I'm pretty sure Fedex need to attempt delivery first before you can alter the delivery. I've found them to be very helpful on the phone so maybe you could call them and see if there's anything they'll do.

Did you order the base model? I order mine on Sept 30 and it still hasn't changed from processing. But I also got the 780 and the 256 SSD.
I ordered mine through JB HI FI on the 1st of October and the sales guy said it could be a three week wait. I am not sure why people from the states are getting theres so early lucky devils.

I literally started my new business on monday this week and I've got work waiting on the new machine. It's not a disaster if it arrives last next week but my inner-geek wants the new toy. It would also help me convince myself that buying the 4GB gfx card instead of the i7 was the best choice as I'm starting to regret this.Welcome to the mysteries of UPS delivery.I've just got an email from UPS saying it's arrived in Dublin - all this means is it's 260 kilometers further away from my home than it was when it was in Cork!

Mine's now at the local sorting facility, which is about 2 hours down the road from me. FedEx says delivery Monday. Really stinks I have to wait two extra days because of the weekend!

I'm also in Aus, I ordered the 3.2 GHz i5 27" with 1TB Fusion same day as you. It has just switched to "preparing for shipment" within the past couple of hours, although delivery date is unchanged (9th - 11th). I would guess that if I am lucky I might get it on the 8th, all my past Apple Store orders have arrived a day or two earlier than the given delivery date.
When I ordered it said it would be available in "3-5 business days" due to the BTO drive, I notice though that now a BTO iMac will be ready in "2-4 business days" so perhaps they are speeding up a little...

Same here. I ordered mine on the 26th with the 780, i7, 16gb ram, and the 512gb flash storage.
It still says processing items as of 1 minute ago but it is giving me an estimated delivery of monday - wednesday next week so hopefully it will change this evening

Thats weird, mine says it will be delivered on the 9th-16th, havent even been shipped yet. 8 days since i ordered
Did you choose the express delivery? Mine was ordered last sunday and delivered this am (5 business days) with express delivery (it is well worth the extra 10 euros)
I ordered a custom setup from smalldog on Oct 1 so they need to go though Apple. They said it is usually 5-10 days, which sounds low to me. maybe Apple is better at the supply chain this year?
