Ordered a BTO 27" maxed out on 9/25 with 2-day shipping. Arrived yesterday 10/3 even though it wasn't supposed to ship until 10/4-10/8.

BTO on 10/02/13 shipped today 10/04/13 with delivery by 10/11/13. Original estimate was "ships in 5-7 business days" and delivers by 10/17/13 at the latest. :D

Ordered mine on Oct 2 and received it today - 2 days! :D I'm typing this from my 27" iMac right now - w00t! :apple:

Lucky! Ordered Sept. 30 and it's delivering Tuesday. But I think it was because of the 780 upgrade *shrugs*

Mine arrived in Tamworth, near Birmingham (150km from my house) at 16:00, scheduled delivery is Monday 'before the end of the day' so does this mean it could possibly be delivered today? It's only 1.5 hours' drive from my house after all. UPS says that delivery times are between 8am and 7pm or 'sometimes later.'

I think we're on the same shipment! Not expecting mine till Monday. I'm in Manchester btw, so we've probably split off now.

Yes, probably! Looks exactly the same to me! :)Image

Ah yes, and you can see our Tamworth "departure scan" is different, which is probably where we've split! I feel like we have a connection now :) So can't wait for Monday, my desk is cleaned, ready and waiting. My MBP looks lost on it!

Have you had any updates from UPS yet? Mine's still saying it left Tamworth at 23:07 but I've heard nothing since. :)

Nope. I imagine they've trucked it to our local depots, and are waiting to be scanned in. I had a MBP delivered early this year, and it seemed to stop over the weekend, but then got a flurry of activity early Monday morning, then arrived on Monday. I imagine the same will happen with this - early Monday morning we get the arrival scan, then out for delivery. At least that's what I hope!

Ok, thank you very much for your detailed reply! The only other product I've ordered from the Online Store is an iPhone 5; everything else I've bought in an Apple Store - so you obviously have more experience than I do. :D

Sounds like it'll be here on Monday then. I'm in the process of cleaning my desk, although it'll have two desktops on it when the iMac arrives.

As orders placed this week are arriving in homes around the world my order from the 24th sits 'processing' with a delivery still of Oct 11-17.

At least this means I'll be able to see what's announced in October and potentially return the iMac if the new Macbook Pro is impressive enough.

Even if I keep the iMac format I'm still thinking about returning it and getting the i7 with the 2GB video card instead of the i5 with 4GB that I currently ordered. I figured my work will benefit more than my play.

What work do you do that would benefit from the i7? If I had work that needed the i7 and play that wanted the better GPU, I would get both. If it hasn't started being built yet, you could call up and have the order changed instead of going through the return process.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the benchmarks seem to indicate to me that the difference between the i5 and the i7 is much bigger than the difference between the 775M and the 780M in their respective areas.

The cpu benchmarks that we've seen are showing the power of the cpu and not what different workloads can expect from each processor. Most applications are not very multi-threaded and won't take advantage of the i7 which I s why I asked what you use your Mac for.

Mainly using it for web dev, photography and video work. Probably editing one five min video a week. Lots of photography.

I had read that the i7 wouldn't be much use with the adobe software I use but all the benchmarks seem to show a big difference between the i5 and i7.

My gaming would be about 15% of the use of the mac.

Even if the program isn't optimised for hyper-threading, it'll still have an impact in terms of performance boost. Buy the best spec you can afford, simple.

Ordered the 1st.

Shipped the 5th.

Pickup date at Apple Store is the 11th. Original pickup estimate was 16th. CAN'T WAIT.

Lucky you guys! I've ordered on 1st and it's still estimated between 10th and 14th but I'm hoping to get it earlier rather than later.

With Express Delivery from Cork to Scotland, it shouldn't take more than 2 days should it?

My iMac will be delivered between the 7th - 11th of October yet it's still processing... so i'm not sure what to think.

It could be dependant in a number of factors, but don't worry, it'll change soon. Also remember that products will only ship on a working day so it'll probably go tomorrow. Once it changes to 'preparing to dispatch' then it's only a matter of hours until it's off.
