iMac shipping times

His is due the same dates as mine. Still "processing." (No way to tell where it's shipping from.) Thanks Apple, for making us canucks feel extra special.

I was originally quoted the 8th-10th.

Ordered mine @ 17:00 on Friday 27th and received a dispatch email today @ 14:00. Expected delivery: 4th, location: Manchester, UK.

• 3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5
• 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X4GB
• 1TB Fusion Drive
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5

That is very interesting. I have the same specs except the i7 processor and my delivery date is between 10th and 14th. Order has been placed 1st Oct. My one is coming from Cork as well as I live in Scotland. Could the date change to an earlier one?

Yes mate, I was originally quoted the 8th - 10th (see above).

I was actually quite surprised when I received the email today. I was expecting delivery on or around the 8th.

Alright, I see it now. Glad you got your one earlier! I hope my one will be the same, cheers mate.

Grrr Getting impatient now

Went with the BTO as Felt the Fusion Drive was a must,

Ordered on th 28th after I sold my Mac Mini

Still at processing with a 9-11 OCT Date (UK)

Hope its sooner as currently having to use a HP N54L Microserver as my main PC till the iMac shows up.

Never realised how quick that little Mac Mini was till trying to use a wheezy old server as a main machine!!!

Waiting for my first iMac ever

Ordered September 28 - expected arrival 11-15 October in Denmark.
BTO: 27", i7, 8, 780, 512, upgrading with 16 GB from Crucial later.

I've read about possible screen faults in this forum - concerned, but really looking forward to unbox, setup and testing.

Was worried FedEx got lost as mine has been out for delivery for close to 12 hours and the delivery date has changed from today to "NA". However, just as I type this a FedEx employee van pulled up with it. :D

I ordered mine through a local retailer (JBHIFI) in Australia on the 1st of October. The sales rep told me to be weary of a three week wait, but i understand they get their stock for customised orders through Apple. By ordering off Apples site so hopefully it takes less than that, till than I envy all fellow threaders.

Ordered my BTO today and it's already changed to "Preparing for Shipment" - that was quick! :)

Just got my tracking number. That was very fast. I wonder if my config (base 27" with Fusion) was something they already have built?

I received my BTO 27" today. Assembled in USA. Has zero screen issues (thus far) ;) *knocks on wood*

Will provide a lengthier update once I am settled in and up and running.

Ordered this evening

Configuration
NVIDIAGeForceGTX775M 2GB GDDR5
3.5GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
512GB Flash Storage

Initial delivery to Redmond, WA estimate Oct 11 - 15. Last time they beat estimate by a wide margin --- :)

Depends on a few things: How the assembly line is setup, supplies of parts, and the customizations being made. The 27" looks like it has a soldered on GPU, so if you want the 780M, that's a whole different logic board. While they may even be able to use the same assembly line for the standard models for BTOs that only change the drive. Unfortunately, I don't have a ton of experience with electronics manufacturing to really know how Apple might lay things out.

Ordered mine 11:45pm 9/26, exact same specs as yours and expected delivery is also on the 4th. Although you are about 7 hours ahead of me so I suppose you will get it first! Lucky Bastard! :)

OMG
Apple hates me and loves you so much.
Congrats on your iMac.
I´m surpose to get mine 4th to 8th october but still "processing items" Express shipping. Starting to think the standard shipping is higher prioritized then express shipping these days.

By the way ordered mine the 25th september in the morning:(

Fedex managed to punch a hole through the outer and inner box of the next computer. I'm happy to report it was the side away from the screen. There's a small dent in the box the keyboard was packaged in, but the keyboard itself was perfectly fine.

As others have confirmed, the computer was assembled in America. No screen issues so far, although I haven't gone through a calibration yet. I also haven't had a chance to do much testing yet, but here's a quick benchmark for those of you wondering how the new PCIe SSD performs:
