Ordered the evening of the 24th Sept (27" BTO)
Changed to Prepare to dispatch on the afternoon of the 30th Sept - 6 days including weekend
Dispatched later the same day
Delivered this morning - 8 days after ordering, which I think is pretty good for a BTO so soon after launch

Argh, I ordered before you and mine is still "Processing" 8 days later. Hasn't budged.

In the first picture i think is the brightness , the 21.5 has at maximum almost the brightness
and the second picture i think you have to watch it in dark room and closely enough to see it...so not such a big problem

I made sure both screens where set up on the same brightness level.

I'm having the same GPU and i7 processor so I'm hoping I might get it earlier rather than later. Btw I've noticed the order takes me up through Irish shop so assembly might be there, can you please refer to that? Thanks

Hi,

My order was definitely sent from Ireland (shipped from Cork to Dublin, then to near Birmingham before heading North to Leeds). Not sure if that's where they assemble or if its just a stock holding area where they keep various configurations options available to send out

Alright, thanks for the info. Someone has mentioned that Europe iMacs are being "processed" and probably completed in Cork. I live in Aberdeen so I hope it will arrive ASAP after completion. Cheers.

so you will return it? i mean you consider that an issue of the screan?

There is actually a REALLY noticeable difference between the 27" and my old 21.5" to the eye, it's very yellow, even someone who's partially sighted and blind in one eye can notice a difference!, I've tried color calibrating it with a i1pro that I managed to borrow and it turns the screen orange!

Spoke to apple, absolutely no issues at all, they said it's not acceptable and my replacement is on order... back to waiting, est delivery 11 - 15th October

Nice..they asked you for some evidence/pictures? Or you went to the store?

Actually, they didn't ask me for any evidence at all, just arranged the return and the replacement order.

Oh man. So far two reported issues of screen problems on the 2013 27"er

Yeah but this is an issue that happens on every make/model/refresh of an apple product. It happens on the iPhones, iPads, rMBP, iMac. It's not a new thing. The number of times I've purchased something and a lot of people have had problems, I've not. I did get a yellow tint to a iPhone 5 but that was swapped straight away.

I guess this time, it was my time (if that makes sense haha)

Checked FEDEx this morning:

- 10/02/2013 - Wednesday
12:46 am
Arrived at FedEx location
SACRAMENTO, CA
- 10/01/2013 - Tuesday
10:40 am
Shipment information sent to FedEx

So it took almost 24 hours for the trailer load from the warehouse to get to the Fed Ex location!!! I would think they are filling trailers with loads every 30 minutes or so, I am bummed a tad, I expected to wake up this morning and see it covering ground toward Kansas.

My base model 21.5" iMac with the 256GB SSD upgrade will arrive tomorrow. If it has WiFi issues like the MBA that I returned last week or if it has a yellow tinted screen, I will return it and build my own pc.

That does make sense. That's why I am worried - I may be next LOL!

Where did yours ship from?

I'd hate to miss out on the opportunity for a little "which factory is making the dodgy screens" conspiracy theory. :D

It looks like mine's coming from California. Wonder why we're not receiving shipments from China?

The American mini plant must be assembling BTOs?
Configuration and final assembly in America would tighten the response time to the market and gain tighter control of channel volumes.

I think our systems are in the same shipping order. My iMac is sitting in Sacramento right now but yesterday the delivery was expected to be on Saturday while today it changed to Friday!! I'm pretty darn pumped up!!

Mine shipped from Ireland (I'm in the UK)

Mine (27" BTO) left Sacramento CA yesterday just after noon and is on its way! I wonder if FedEx loads up semi's and drives them across country, if they use expedited intermodal TOFC and ship by rail or ship domestically by air. In any case, the FedEx shipping site says that I won't get another update until 10/3/2013.

i got exactly that model yesterday and there are no problems at all with screen or wifi - or anything else. enjoy your new imac!

How it ships (plane or truck) depends on the type of shipping you paid for. From what you've said, I expect it went via a UPS truck.

When Apple ships from China, it can go to one of 3 or 4 airports in the US. I'm lucky, I live within the 1 day ground zone from one of those airports. Once I even got an item the same day it landed at the airport and that was with the free standard delivery.

Same as my order but I ordered 24th and not due to receive it until Oct 11-17. I guess it's shipping from Ireland vs mine which is coming from god knows where to Canada.

Yes mate, the dispatch email tells you where it's coming from.

Does it ship from China?

I live in Brazil and mine say 3 to 4 weeks, october 24 and 31.

Anybody who lives outside US and have the same 3- 4 weeks can tell me if that prediction is really real, or they usually ship sooner?
