Contact imaxpower to get a replacement

I received my imaxpower last week, charged it and used it to charge my iPhone 3GS. It charged it 4 times before it ran out of juice.
I tried to recharge the imaxpower pack and it will not charge. The charger (not the imaxpower) gets very hot and the lights will not turn on showing the recharge progress like it did when I received it.

My friend told me imaxpower had a decent customer service. He lost his AC charger and usb cable. He contacted Wesley at San jose office and he received his replacement even passed 2 months product warranty. Give it a try. No hurt.

I'm headed to Europe several times in the next 3 months, so I decided to purchase the iMax. It seems to be the best choice for long flights, watching movies, and still having a fully changed phone when I land.

Wow. I received this is 2 days. I can't believe how fast this shipped!

It's in it's initial charge, but I'll post a review on my blog on this soon. I can't wait to test this out.

I've finally settled with the SANYO KBC-L2S instead of the imaxpower.

Please check out my own youtube review. I think $38.95 for 5000 mAh external USB battery charger is a bargain especially from Sanyo Eneloop.

20 seconds into the first video, and it hit me... You sound just like Ali G. :D

If I had seen your video first on the Sanyo, I may have purchased that instead of the iMax. I love that you can charge the battery from mini UBB OR DC adapter, and even more, 2 USB ports to charge multiple devices at the same time.

I do however, like the look of the iMax more... I may end up getting the Sanyo and selling which ever I like less.

Thanks for the video post! Nice job too, and for the record, Ali G. was a compliment. :D

I would try to improve as this is just my hobby of reviewing my own gadgets without getting paid. I considered some of my takings were critical information for the people who are considering all the other brands such as Just Mobile Gum Pro, Richard Solo, iMaxpower, INCASE Power Slider, Morphie Juice, etc. I got this from Amazon.com for $38.95 shipped.

I just bought another one from costco for only $14.97!!!!!!!!!!! Damn I should have waited!!

Part 1 is introduction but if you want to skip all the comparisons and jump directly to the technical specs and demonstrations, please proceed to Part 2.

I just bought another Sanyo KBC-L2 5000 mAh USB Li-ION charger from Costco for $14.95!!!!! Great buy!!!

Costco has a misprint. It's now $24.95
You should ask the Costco representatives about the battery stock.
There is no online link cheaper than Costco currently.

My died also after a few uses over a few months time. I emailed imaxpower support with receipt attached on the weekend and someone replied quickly and told me that I would get an email from them on Monday with RMA # and address to return defective unit to them for testing. Got RMA info on Monday and got a new replacement unit the following week. Great customer support from my experience.

the imax looks cool. what appeals to me is its compatible via adapter to work with both psp and nintendo ds as well. so you can actually have it for a bunch of different things. thats really neat. I bookmarked their site. Its a good value to be able to charge so many different things. I will pick one up soon for my iphone with psp and ds adapters.

Imax Power pack experience

I have had it for three weeks now. And used it to charge both an iPhone 3Gs and an iPod Touch 16g 2nd Generation.

Powerful power supply for my iPhone 3Gs and iPod Touch 2nd Generation. It charges the half-empty iPhone in about 25 minutes. Good design; IMHO, it's better than some third-party battery paks that plug directly into Apple connector and creates stress at the joint possibly breaking off the connector. Plus, it's cumbersome and bulky to have an extra one inch or so of the plug-in battery protruding.

I have not experienced abnormalities, i.e. hot, non-charging problems, etc. yet. Someone posted the Sanyo Lithium-Ion battery booster 5000 mAH for $15. That looks too good to bet true to me though. I checked CostCo Web and did a search for Sanyo Eneloop, no luck. ...
==============================

Sanyo is Lithium-Ion battery, IMaxPower claims theirs is Lithium-Ion Polymer; cost and
grade are different.

__________________________________________________________

Lithium Polymer (Li-Poly) :

The newest and most advanced technology for cellular phone batteries.
This brand new chemistry of battery allows for the most compact cells
available. Li-Poly batteries are extremely light and in most cases
very thin allowing for the highest battery life for the size. Lithium
Polymer batteries share all of the benefits of Li-Ion plus can last up
to twice as long.

That was me, posting $14.99. But I was the only one who got the deal. It was suppose to be $24.99 and they did a misprint, haha.
I saw that in Bay Area, CA Costco

When I see a post with a glowing review and look at the user's newbie status I can't take them seriously it's they've open multiple accounts just to flog their product.

Looking at the first page it's practically all newbies!

E.g

- Example 1
- Example 2
- Example 3
- Example 4

If you work for the company, declare it don't B.S. You can always prove me wrong but I'm completely turned off from buying it right now. And yes, it's always possible there are users who join but end up leaving it after a while hence the newbie status. But how suss does that appear?

None of the URL searches work.
Anyway, IMAX is expensive and you can buy that in Fry's Electronics with another brand. I got my Sanyo and I'm happy. It's small and great for backpacking and overseas trip. IMAX power is just huge.

iMax now offers an 880 Lithion Polymer battery. Slightly larger than the 500 and an ounce heavier. But it gives 56 hours Internet Time! wow.
And the case seems more sturdy, less prone to the scratching which some reported with the 500. The many adapters included means it can also charge other phones. Now I have to decide which battery I want, the 500 or the 880.( sells for approx $30 more than the 500. Gee, I hate these types of choices!

About IMP880

I own an IMP880 powerpack and test it over the weekend. Recharge iphone over 6 times. I don't have enough patience to test the exact video playing time but I know this is a very solid product. Right now IMP880 is out of stock. Not sure when it will be in stock again.

I got one IMP880

I am very luck to get one imp880 on Nov 27 (black friday sale). I recharged my 3Gs iphone 5 times still have 2 light left. This one is the champion so far.

ImaxPower IMP-500

I purchased the IMP-500 to provide backup power to my MIFI 2200 hotspot from verizon which I use with my Itouch 32 GB. The MIFI is a relatively new device and can use quite a bit of power thereby draining its battery after an hour or so. Because of this fact, having a backup battery supply is essential. The IMP-500 will successfully charge my MIFI 2200 and provides power when it is needed. I currently do not have any problems or issues with the device and am quite pleased that it is doing exactly what I purchased it to do.

Works very well

I have now used the IMP500 on two cross-country flights and it has worked very well. Both flights had delays and layovers, so the iPhone and IMP500 got about 12 hours of continuous use each time. The iPhone battery was fully-charged at the end of each trip. The IMP500 is small, about the size of the iPhone, and very portable. Highly recommended.
