Works As It Says

I've had this unit for about 6 months now, and I'll have to admit, it's not like the rest. It's very portable, handy, does not take up too much room, and you can easily store it in your laptop bag or even a pocket (if you use a holster for your iPhone).

The battery life this has given me more freedom to do what I want to do. When I'm having a backyard gatherings and on WiFi controlling my iTunes music, it take's its toll. Just sit the iPhone down on a table with the charger plugged in, extend the retractable cable when you need to reach it, and do your thing. Yeah it's "another cable", but are you plugged into an outlet? Nope. Can you go anywhere you like? Yeah. For those that complain that it's too bulky, wouldn't it be more of a hassle having to dock yourself to an outlet "to charge your phone" while everyone else is freely doing their thing?

Overall, I am impressed, and happy with my external battery.

I've had mine since Nov '08 and it's is really doing an excellent job. Disregarding the scratches that I caused, it really impressed me how long this battery can go. Hopefully it could still support the 4th generation iPhone next year ;)

Just what I needed

Purchased this for my wife. It works wonderfully!!!! Our son uses the iphone to play games alot, so when we travel or just in the car for a long drive the extra battery power has come in handy more than once. Greatest use my wife received from it......While in an airport she was only minutes away from missing a flight, had kid in tow, and carryon. There was not time to plug in her phone which was near battery life death. She remembered she had the imax powerpack in her purse. She slipped it on placed phone in her purse. By the time she was seated, and ready to go her phone was nearly fully charged. REAL lifesaver because they were on a 6 1/2 flight, so our son was not left iphoneless.

Spend your money wisely

After research, found only 4 real imaxpower sellers in the market. Be aware that only one authentic seller in each market place. On Amazon, seller called imaxpower is the real one. On Ebay, seller called www-imaxpower-com is the real one. For online merchants, www.imaxpower.com and GolfGPS.com are the real store. Other resellers claimed carrying imp500 are actually selling a similar product with a different packaging and model number (something like NT500 or HNB500). Be aware of some ebay resellers (2 or 3 of ebay power sellers) are selling similar product with the model HNB500 but claiming is imp500. On Amazon, some sellers are selling different model number (NT500) other than imp500. Be aware of this info and spend your money wisely. Merry Christmas!

Imp550

I really want to get one IMP550. Called their Toll free number and found that IMP550 will be delayed by several weeks due to holiday shipping. But Imp700 will be here in a couple of days

Imp500

I may be a newbie here but I know batteries. The iPhone 3gs that I have has an amazing battery life on it's own but I needed some extra power since I use it like a maniac. At first I bought an attachable portable battery from the apple store. It promised a full charge but only gave me 60 percent. Then I bought the mophie for 80 dollars because I thought it was convenient. It also promised a full charge. The problem was it was bulky and only gave me 70 percent more power. I came across this page and decided to try the imp500. I took it out for a test drive on a weekend away and it worked amazingly. It was thirty dollars cheaper and had more than 4 times the power of the mophie. I don't know about other batteries out there but I do know this, the battery can recharge an iPhone 4 times and the customer service is amazing. I don't know about the 30 dollar sanyo but the warranty and the excellent customer service is well worth the extra 20 dollars.

I totally agree with you

I own Imaxpower IMP19500

The ImaxPower IMP19500 was a Christmas present for me. It came charged. My Iphone was dead..0% charge on the Iphone 3GS. It took roughly 4.5 hours to fully charge my phone, but I was playing with it the whole time. It charged while I used it. I have been using my phone non-stop. I have surfed the Web, played games, watched movies, listened to music...made my screen bright for no reason, charged friends phones. There is no sign of the battery draining.. It's crazy good. It seems like I can start my car with this thing.. You can't go wrong with it. I mean, it's a little big, but who cares--it still fits in my pocket and works EXACTLY AS ADVERTISED. At $109, it was a steal. I am set for the zombie invasion. You don't even have to think about this one. The battery shipped immediately, came charged, and is amazing in every way. Customer service is phenomenal too. I called several times to ask various questions and John is very cordial and professional. It is still weird to me to not be pluggin' my phone into the wall and not worrying about it going dead, but it's good weird. I LOVE IT!!!

Its a big mistake to let your phone drop to 0%. You will damage the battery.

The best price for what it can do...

I love my iPhone 3G, it let me in touch with all my clients on the road. But the battery life is suck as everyone know! I'm so glad I found IMP500 External Backup Battery with 5000mA Capacity. This is the largest capacity battery I could find with small enough to fit in my back pocket with both iPhone and IMP500 and has the best price. I bought 4 units for my family as Christmas gifts, they all iPhone users and love them. I lost my USB charging cable last week and called iMaxpower, spoke to John C. such a great guy. He is sending me a new USB cable free of charge, great customer service.

I highly recommend this product to anyone. My 2 cent!!!!

i don't understand...

how do you guys actually use this battery with it dangling off the end of you phone? surely you aren't using it walking down the street or while touristing in another city (a major use for me).

any luck with case batteries?

I just picked one of these up. Amazing product and works great. Only problem is attaching iTrip to it or anything the utilizes the connector on the bottom. The output with the Morphie on is a miniUSB.

To each has it's own, I use it to charge while I'm at desk or even while walking and talking, the battery is on my pocket and there's a line towards the iPhone on my ear :p pretty handy I must say, I don't mind about the dangling wire.

I use it walking down the street all the time. the wire is long enough for me to keep the battery in my pocket and the phone where i need it.

Imax Power IMP500

I recently purchased the IMP500 after a lot of internet research. It arrived within days and works as advertised. It recharges my iphone 3Gs quickly and without a hitch. I couldn't be happier. I especially like that it is small and lightweight and sleek and fits in my pocket easily. Not having a bulky battery hanging off of the iphone is a real plus. I had a question and sent an email to the company. Within 5 minutes someone had called me and answered my question. VERY NICE! I highly recommend ImaxPower.

IMP500 Superlative

I am known as "Hilty" a journalist and reviewer on www.Planet-iPhones.com

I stumbled upon this company by sheer accident and will be doing a full review on it in an article due out for publication sometime mid next week. I urge you all to check there if you have any questions and concerns about iMaxPowers' IMP 500.

I can tell you this for now however. The product is superlative in its function, design and delivery. To date I have not found a battery pack that works as well and for as long as the IMP500. What is more important to the consumer, is considering the bang it offers the buck is quite reasonable.

I advise that if you are in the market for a backup battery for your mobile devices, this is the product for you. Do not hesitate to purchase it.

Can you expand on your credentials and disclosures. Independent or vendor paid reviewer etc...

Thanks

Awesome

I purchased one several months ago and it is by far the best battery extender in the market. It is capable of recharging an iphone 3Gs numerous times on one charge. It is light and compact and I take it with me whenever I will be away from an ac outlet for an extended period of time. These guys are also very service oriented.

xpalpower xp8000 / xp8000N or IMP500 or Sanyo KBC-L2S?

I have been doing research to buy iphone 3G backup battery from few days and found couple of good solutions but now I am thinking which one would be better?

xpalpower has xp8000N without an A/C power adapter
xp8000 comes with an A/C adapter
IMP500 I liked it and costs $50 with free shipping.
Sanyo KBC-L2S looks good and has same power as IMP500 and costs $40 with $10 shipping to US.

I liked small size of Sanyo KBC-L2S but it takes 7 hours to charge from A/C power adapter and 14 hours from USB.

I liked xpalpower xp8000N costs $43 online but need to buy A/C power adapter seperately and will not charge from USB

I am deciding between Sanyo / xpalpower because both are good quality product and also imaxpower which I am not sure.

xp8000N with A/C power adapter becomes bulky

Can you all help me please to choose.

Thanks.

xp8000N will not charge from USB
Sanyo KBC-L2S will not charge it self and iphone 3G at the same time from USB

anyone has $40 link for Sanyo KBC-L2S?
I am buying from international seller

xp8000N is bigger than Sanyo KBC-L2S and IMP500

IMP500 does not have auto off

xp8000N has

not sure Sanyo KBC-L2S has?
