I am also waiting for Unlock Fusion...

By the way, I though of something last night, what if we have to get service for our phone at Genius bar and the phone has to swap... then we will lose our unlocked phone... can we tell them like this is unlocked from at&t... and we should get the unlocked version...?

I hope it won't happen on me for this year. And most likely I will just go for the unlocked version next time.

Same thing :) Will see the truth tomorrow :) Good luck!

At the apple store if you get an exchange the status of your unlock transfers over to your new phone. You don't even need to tell the rep that it is unlocked.

It happends to my wife's iphone 4s once, they gave me unlocked in exchange and I didn't complain. Once I asked to exchange unlocked to unlocked, they gave me locked one (Apple paid me back) . I didn't bother to drive back, bought unlock for 3 $, save some gas and nature.

waiting on unlockfusion...

It seems that the only two services working right now as of this post are unlock with sam and i device guys, both charging $100, or $99 respectively. Sam was $90 just yesterday. On another side note, saw an ad on my Craigslist for iPhone unlock at $99. Seems like they are trying to set a new standard in pricing. At this rate.. i'm either about to just go get a gophone sim with $60 plan and request an unlock after six mos, or just resell my iPhone 5 for at&t and buy t-mobile ones.. I would rather resell and buy the phones I need even if it means I risk losing a little bit of money (although i shouldn't) then pay a ridiculous $100 fee and still have to wait around for 120 hours without a definite yes, or someone holding my money for 15 days at least and then thinking about refunding me, as per i device guys..

Hmm you mean when you asked for that, they gave you the locked one in purpose... and what do you mean by paid you back? The different between locked and unlocked phone?

And thanks Jades.

I just kidding here: when I didn't ask and had the locked one - I got unlocked by their mistake. When I asked with mine unlocked - they gave the locked one.
Sense of humor that Apple paid mr back. Hope you understand this joke now.

BTW: no news from unlock fusion. I think my money about to "fusion"away. Not a big deal compare with Apple stocks :)

Thanks Dinkey: going to send request with i device guys tomorrow if no answer from unlock fusion

I see... eBay price is between 120-160... I don't see what is the different between fully unlocked version or locked version with 2years contract.

at&t is being too crazy this time, I wouldn't use this iPhone in the other country if I can't get it unlock.

GL to us, 40 is already a lot to unlock this phone...

This Sunday seem so long...

Yep, very long :)
I'm going to buy 100 dollars unlock service this morning. I have no time to wait unlock fusion.
What do yo you think if I buy one more service won't they unlock->lock my phone ?

Doesn't look like anyone has successfully unlocked their phones within the last few weeks.

Doesn't look good. If you were successful lately, please post which phone model along with the company you went through so that we know who can come through or not.

I would rather wait for the refund first... Unlock Fusion has a statement about their deal will clear whatever orders that it placed between Friday to Sunday.

Just few more hours or tomorrow he will announce it...

agree with deadstockmarket .. even though prices have gone up and everyone is commanding $80 - $120 now, I have not seen a success story with unlocking ever since this fiasco started. All i've noticed is a few companies taking orders holding those orders and refunding the money after a few weeks and charging higher prices and taking new orders. Most of them are saying their servers (aka their hookups in at&t) are online now but I have yet to see a report on a single success story since last week. It might also be that people who have gotten unlocked don't really care to report.. i probably wouldn't either, so its understandable.

On top of that, I thin at&t has put a limit on the number of times you can request a device unlock for a particular imei. I put my iphone's imei unlock request through the at&t portal using four different friends accounts in the last two weeks. I think maybe like 4- 6 times honestly, don't remember and I got a message with denial almost immediate on the last time it said the following:
"We cannot complete your request because this account has reached the maximum number of unlock requests allowed during a given period. If you have questions, please review the AT&T Mobile Device Unlock eligibility requirements by going to this link:"

I was relying on unlock fusion for two phones. They promised by Sunday. It's Sunday and nothing. Not counting on them anymore. Returning the phones tomorrow.

Can you guys post sites that are still active? Seems all the sites that are cheap are not processing and instead just giving false hope :(

if it is older than 1 year iphone call att set up new postpaid account, after 2 months request unlock.

I wouldn't hold my breath on unlock fusion till Monday evening... the two other websites that i feel like may be producing results (although i haven't personally read or heard about any success stories from them, and they are charging about $100 each and stated yesterday that their service is back online) clearly state that no unlocking will be done on Sunday for security reasons etc...

my guess is that the at&t hook up(s) only wants to process unlocks on weekdays/working days instead of the weekends so they don't arouse any suspicious activity from at&t management at work.. going on that thought, if unlock fusion were to process them they would have been done by Sat. Now we might hear something by Monday evening, otherwise its going to be another tug of war that entails emailing them and asking them questions with no response from their side, requesting refunds, price increase etc... we all know the drill by now..

**disclaimer- above is my opinion only, just my two cents on what I think is going on reading forums online and researching on my OWN... no one has given me this info.. anyone is welcome to chime in and add to the discussion about their own view points...

active unlock sites

ones i know so far:

chronic unlocks @ $99
unlock with sam @ $95
i device guys @99

prices are updated as of this post.. think only chronic and ideviceguys are doing 5s and 5c might have to email them.. prices are VERY volatile.. if you can wait, you should.. chronic's facebooks says he is working on a an economy solution for people who can wait...

From my observation, in general, if anyone is charging $80 plus they are probably able to deliver although turn around time varies.. do your own research to see who is actively unlocking and suits ur needs.. high charge = more reliability that unlock will go through with least turn around time.. yesterday at&t unlocks were sold on ebay for $89 to $99 today they are at $164 on ebay. as long as people keep buying, prices will keep climbing... most of these guys have a twitter account or a facebook page or are on a forum which they are constantly updating.. as per chronic, at&t is going to be strict for the next4 months on iPhone unlocks with a lot of scrutiny..

TLR;DR: moral of story, wait if you can to unlock, otherwise spend that little extra to buy the phone that you need then to be stuck with a phone you can't use..

does anyone know att customer service e-mail? I ll try to send them an email cause i m from Greece and i cant contact them via website form. :(

So these are going to be the prices for a while huh... Guess I might have to pull the trigger soon since I'm going to be out of the country in early December. Should've pulled the trigger when I got my 5s

This is getting... sux...

I ordered a unlocked version on 9/20(amEST), and will be here Tuesday finally.

Also ordered another one last week, will be here by this Friday...

Anyway... I can't return and get the unlocked version... I am leaving next Friday.

Thanks for the update guys, this definitely sheds light on whose online and who isn't. Im looking into chronicunlocks.com ideviceguys.com and unlockwithsam.com

Has anyone had any orders cleared by these 3 in the past week? Because prices went sky rocketing in the past 7-10days from what I can gather out of the thread. So feedback in that time period will be much more helpful determining who to go with.

Returning and buying is not an option for me so it's got to be one of these guys.

My two cents:

Those that are considering selling AT&T iPhones and buying T-Mobile from used markets:

- be careful as lots of sellers sell stolen devices and there is truly no way to safe guard your self on the used market

- Tmobile may not unlock your iPhone ever, because you didn't buy it, it's not under your name/contract and 3rd party Tmobile unlocks are $115-$150 and take up to 25days (looking at swift and many others even tho they say 1-15days).

With that said, I think its a better bet to get your own iPhone unlocked as at least you know you paid ETF or if you got it from another line, you know what's happening with it (as is not going to be blacklisted)
