Please post them as I would love to give them a go. :D

There you go, basically all i did was get the originals and messed with the contrast in preview till that s curvy line was gone, and used the exposure and brightness to get it dark. Its real easy, you can change it more if you like.
enjoy

Just to excite everyone, Panic's blog says that Candybar 3 which will be released soon will support Dock skinning, among other exciting Leopard features. :)

Here is my modded dock. I made it slightly darker, removed the curved highlight, and made it less deep.

that looks like the icons will fall off the back of that. Thats too scary for me. I just wish applications started to have more of a 3d look about them now. I hate to say it, but Microsoft Messengers icon really suits the 3d dock look.

Im not so sure I like it, I might go all the front blue color, any suggestions?

very nice but, it looks a little bit pixelated,
lol you have more icons on the right side then on the left :p
because of the stacks :p

haha yeah in fact I only have Finder, Mail, Safari, and iChat on the dock, the rest are stacks! My old dock was at the smallest setting and had apps all the way across the screen. I hate going to the app folder. If you are curious the stacks go Web, Productivity, Audio, Image, Video, System, Documents, and Downloads :p

p.s. better or worse?

Got this idea from another mac forum. Someone mentioned a pirate dock with red Xs for open apps. My Xs suck becasuse I just found a gif online. It needs the white removed from the edges. Anyway, its kind of cool if you are into pirates. Could have been better if the skull was just below the icons. And the separator line really needs to be done in red or something. I didnt mess with it at all, its the original one, you can barely see it.

Been working on the X. Erased some of the white around the edges and added a bit of a drop shadow. Going to work on the separators now. Oh, and re-adjusted the dock down a bit so the skull shows more.

Oh, nice i still don't have leopard, but i'm gonna remember that for when i have i ;)

nice, but i would do something to the X to make it more viewable.

Here are the x's 5 pixels bigger. I wish there were some way to actually move them up higher.

And separator fixed. It looks weird though because the dock has the striped border at an angle on the right and the separator is going off into the distance in a straight line. I turned the separator at the same angle but that looked even more weird.

Like what, thats about all you can do to it. I made it bigger but all that does is force part of it off the screen.

can you in anyway, not make it bigger, but maybe even smaller and than push it up some pixels? it would be better viewable.

Ya, its not so much the size, its that the bottom of the X is going out of frame. IDK how to adjust it up though.

open the file in let's say photoshop or gimp and move it up one or two pixels, but so that it's not of your picture ;)

Duh, IDK why I didnt think of that before. Done. These X's are 15x15. I suppose they could even be a bit bigger. The last pic I posted they were 20x20.

Im not going to attempt this, but if someone really were into a pirate theme and they had a treasure chest icon, they could use that for the trash can.

it's much better, only one thing, this may be a little bit harder to edit, but removing or making it more transparent, the drop shadow of the X icon. ,
it's not really something special changing the trash can icon, but i still haven't found out how to do it completly without candybar (that i now wouldn't download for leopard because there's a update coming for leopard). i read an article on inrterfacelift and followed all the steps for changing the trash can icon and noving happened. :( it worked with candybar so good.

Excellent! Now people can make their Docks look as nasty as they want! I see a trend starting here and pretty soon people are going to be making their Docks so ugly that Apple will be forced to hardcode the graphics into the Dock somehow making them unmodifyable. I can see Apple putting a stop to this.

nasty?? i don't see apple stoping them, apple did this for a reason , not because they forgot it, people want to make it look more like they want, like the SDK coming for the iphone/ipod touch in february, apple want's to make easy.

.

When I edited the X I didnt save it as a psd file, like an idiot. If I had that would be an easy edit. I still have the original X graphic, with the white on the edges, so I could re-do it without the shadow. Personally though, I like the drop shadow.

choose for yourself, little bit dumb :p
